Giants Football

My dad is a HUGE NY Giants football fan! You can find us in front of the TV whenever they play and normally we're eating either my dad's special tomatoe sauce over oonies or pizza! I love them both equally!
When the temperatures get a little bit cooler, the fireplace is started and that makes it even more cozy! Mom always lights a scented candle and she knits or needle felts or quilts! It's Sunday tradition!

I'm in dad's Tiki Barber's practice jersey! Do you think they'd let me run a few plays with them?

When dad was sick and he was waiting for his heart transplant, he dreamed of the NY Giants visiting him in CTICU and having them shake his hand. Well, that didn't happen! There are just too many guys and they're too big for that little space! heheheh

But what he did get was a signed Tiki Barber practice jersey! Can you see Tiki's signature to the left of his name?

Dad also got an official NFL football signed by two of the players! One of the players was Ron Dayne and the other one was Jason Sehorn. Is this cool or what?! We were totally blown away by their generosity!

These items are very sacred to us and they're displayed every time the Giants play! You sport's fans know exactly what I mean, don't you! And they have to be in the same exactly place in the family room week after week or else!
So we're all set for today's game! We have a beautiful day we have here today! Temps are coolish and the aire is crisp! What a fabulous day to watch some NY Giants football!
GO GIANTS !!!!
So until next time..................
Love ya lots,
Maggie

  2. Hey M&M, Maggie you are abolustely the luckiest dog alive to get to wear the sacred jersey. Our mom isn't a big sports fan, but she loves traditional things. your entire day, with the cool crisp air and the special treats and everyone gathered together sounds really fun. Enjoy. We hope your team wins!

  3. Well, it doesn't look good for the Giants but you look really SMASHING in that jersey! That's pretty cool that the Giants sent that stuff to your dad. He's a lucky guy to get a new heart and Giants stuff AND he gets to live with you and Mitch!

    wally.

ps. I think that the foodables are the best part of football, too!

  5. I like Sunday routines, but they don't really revolve around sport in our house! It was very nice of the team to send that stuff to your Dad. I hope they win today! J x

  6. Cool jersey, Maggie! How nice they sent that to ur Dad!! And how convenient for you to wear it to cover up the ALL OVER sunburn you got yesterday!! Enjoyed your zuchini er bikini pics (always get that work confused..) as by the time I saw u there was NO bikini!! Mitch still had his trunks on though...I noticed them when we were socializing behind the palm tree. Busy place, that palm tree. Scruffy has diaper rash today...Mumsie bought him size 18 mo. trunks, and he needed a 2T. He couldn't get 'em off and had to sit in a wet bathing suit all the way home this morning. Poor guy.

Need to continue resting...we took a NAP DURING the Steeler game today.

  8. hehe, your house sounds like our house on Sundays, and Fridays and any other night there are football on tv, except mamma is not too into it, she says she grew up in Europe, where American football is not important.
But My big pappa, he LOVES it like your pappa, specially if food is involved too!!
we should get those two together..hehe.
You guys look adorable and very real football players in your jerseys!
This is the season of warm big sweaters,no more worries about fitting into our bathing suits and losing weight, and Apple pies, stews, and home baked breads!!!.YUM...now I just have to get mamma on the same mind track..hehe.

  11. Hi Maggie,

I love football Sundays too! Due to geographical reasons, I'm partial to the Chicago Bears, but football is #1 with me!

  12. my hoomans are huge yankee fans...

this one time, sister asked chuck knoblauch (sp?) for a ball while he was practicing with the team... ( a long time ago ) and he threw her a ball.

Dad tried to catch it but missed... and some kid grabbed it and ran off with it! She was soooo mad!

It was a sad day for all of us. However, she kind of lost interest in the game once the team fell apart, but my parents both still watch them every single game!

    Woof!

I totally, completely understand.. My dad is a Man-U fanatic and everytime there is a match on, his eyes are glued to the TV (and his hands on the remote control in case mom changes the channel!!)

  22. Football seems to be happy.
To tell the truth, the television of football is not done in Japan.
    It is regrettable.

  24. We LOVE football Sunday. Mom has a similar tradition...light a fire & a candle & eat pizza. She always shares with us!

But she spends a lot of time yelling at the TV. We hate yelling. That's the only downside.
