Mitch Is Home

Mitch came home yesterday. Mom and Dad both went to pick him up late afternoon. He came home with 3 "sleepy" pills to keep him quiet so he can heal more quickly without popping open his booboo! And he came home with a lampshade too and so far he hasn't had it on his head! DARN! Actually mom is wondering how you work the stupid thing! I'm sure if he needs it, she can figure it out pretty quickly!
Mitch was hungry when he got home but we were cautioned to feed him small portions so he wouldn't lose his dinner all over the floor - and the same for the water! He did just fine - no pukes!
He stayed quiet pretty much. Boy, those pills pack a mean punch! I wish mom could get a lifetime prescription of those and give him one every day! It would sure save me many nips on my legs and face!
That's a good boy - swallow that pill! ummmmmmmmm
Overnight in the crate went well - no noise from the monster and he was pretty alert this morning at 4AM! Mom washed his blankie for him so he was pretty happy about that. He loves it nice and warm just out of the dryer! I'm sure Mitch is dying to dig into his breakfast! He hasn't had a decent meal in over 24 hours! Yup, he's happy about that too!

Mom and I will be heading out for our walkie soonish. I hope Mitch isn't too disappointed that he can't go too. The vet said he had to keep a low profile for a few days.

Thank you all so much for all of your sweet notes concerning Mitch's surgery!
We're so glad he's home and so is he!

Until next time..............

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Mitch's Big Boy Surgery

The vet's office called yesterday afternoon and told dad that Mitch couldn't have breakfast this morning before his neutering surgery- only a small drink of water. Mitch wasn't too happy with that news at all but he did as he was told like the good little boy that he is!
Dad also asked about him coming home the day of his surgery (today) and they said that we could call around 3PM and as long as we kept him quiet and things went as expected he could come home early! This should be real interesting - keeping Mitch quiet! Yea right!
Dad couldn't wait to share that news with Mitch! Did you hear that Mitch - you can sleep in your own bed tonight! See how happy he is!
We did our two mile walkie this morning and Mitch did his business and that made mom very happy. She didn't want him uncomfortable with this problem too!
After our walk, mom and Mitch got in the car and off they went! Mom did ask about the lampshade and the people at the animal hospital said that a lot of dogs don't need to wear them so maybe Mitch will be one of the lucky ones!
We've been keeping busy in the yard with weeding and planting but it's a bit more quiet than usual. We came in to make tuna for lunch and - no Mitch to help eat me eat celery and walnuts! Now I'm depressed!
I'm going to wait right here for you to return this afternoon little brother! I thought it would be fun to be queen for a day once again and to pretend I was the "only" child but I was wrong. I miss you!

Hurry home! I'll be waiting!

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Snappy

Dad was weed wacking yesterday. He was in the brook trimming along the edge with his hip boots on. Suddenly he noticed that something was pushing on his boot sort of aggressively. He looked down and guess what he saw? A snappy turtle! This one was relatively small. We find some that are so big that we have to cover them with a wheel barrow to contain them.

We have ducks in our pond and this time of year the mallards and geese all have little ones. Snapping turtles are mean and vicious (yes, I know they have to eat too - but do it somewhere else!) and they kill the ducklings and goslings and it makes the hoomans sad!

So dad caught Snappy and put him in the back of the pick-up. Mitch is keeping an eye on him while mom gets Maggie. We're going to relocate him to another pond so he can have all the fish that he wants and no ducks!

Dad says we can stop for an ice cream too! Oh boy!

Here's dad carrying Snappy to his new home!

Dad sorta rolled him down a small hill so that he was only inches from muddy water - they love the stuff! Dad's making sure that Snappy is okay!

Yup, he made it into the mucky yuck just fine!

So off we go to Wentworth's! Mom has decided that she wants strawberry ice cream this time! There were lots of people there! The place was packed! So many people and dogs to see and bark at!

Mitch loves putting his front feet on the arm rest so that he can feel taller and get a better view!Mom didn't get any pictures of us chowin' down on the ice cream but trust me - we got our share or you know we'd squeal to you guys just to let you know how unfair the whole thing is! We totally enjoyed our strawberry ice cream and Snappy has a new home!
All is well!

Till next time...............

Will I be a He/She?

Mitch is a bit down and out today. He has news to share with you all and I think he needs lots of support so I told him that he could use MY blog to let you all know what's upsetting him so much!

Okay Mitch - your turn!

This coming Wednesday I have an appointment to have my boy bits altered. Does this mean I'll become a he/she doggie? Mom was fooling around with hats again this morning! I totally do NOT think this is funny at all! I want to be Maggie's brother, not her sister!
The vet told me that I have to stay overnight too and mom and dad truly don't like this idea at all. They want me home in my own bed and under THEIR watchful eye. Mom has decided that she will plead my case Wednesday morning and see if they will change their mind on this rule. I'll let you know if they buy into it!

And I guess this means that I'll have to wear that nasty dreaded lampshade?
Maggie didn't have to! She's never had to so I'm sure she'll be teasing me and laughing at me bigtime!

I'm so depressed........................

Please send me Aire-Zen! I think I will need lots of it!

Maggie will keep you all updated. She promised me she would!

Love ya lots and lots,

Mitch - Brother, not sister to Maggie!

Tag - Eight Things You Didn't Know About Me

I got tagged by Wally the Corgador's sister Ethel and Maggie to share eight things that my fellow doggie bloggers don't know about me.

1. I'm a real *B* when it comes to meeting new dogs, especially ones in my neighborhood. I can be very agressive and nasty and it really embarrases my mom!

2. I have allergies to weeds and my eyes get gunky a lot.

3. I hate lemons! Mom and dad tease me and try to get me to eat them! I hate that - they're mean!

4. I nip at mom's ankles when she leaves me in the house to go down to get the mail. Sometimes she won't take me and I get mad!

5. I'm scared of my vet. Everything is fine till he enters the room and then I try and hide under my mom's legs!

6. I hate heave-ho's. Dad used to pick me up as a puppy and toss me backwards over his shoulder. He and mom got such a kick out of it and I hated it! I'm 1 1/2 years old in this photo! I'm so glad he can't do this to me anymore! haha dad! nananananana
That's my tail in that picture! It's not what you're thinking! I'm a girl!

7. I'm scared to death of dad's screw gun and the weed-wacker!

8. I love aire-snapping at boring bees and catching them and eating them!

I'm tagging Lillie V, Faya and Ayla the Newf

Tell us eight things we don't know about you!

Till next time..............

Love ya lots,

Maggie

The Facts and Habits Tag

We got tagged by Dory and Liza to list 8 random facts/habits about ourselves. Mitch and I are taking this on together as a project.

1. We both luvvvvvvvvvvvvv pizza! Any kind! We're not fussy at all!

2. We both love ice cream! Whichever kind mom decides to pass our way on our little red plastic spoon is fine by us!

3. We both love to hike Sleeping Giant! We always know when it's a hiking day because we wear our special black harness's to climb the Giant and mom brings that special blue cooler with ice in it so we can quench our thirst after that nice long climb!

4. We both love marrow bones! We've been getting them pretty often and they're sure tasty and keep us both busy for quite awhile!

5. My favorite toy is still Mr. Carrot. Mom has yet to bring home a new toy to top him! Mitch loves all toys, especially the one that I'm playing with at that moment! You doggies with younger siblings know EXACTLY what I mean!

6. My favorite vegetable is a cucumber! Yummy! Nice and cold and oh so refreshing! Mitch loves his carrots!

7. I'm a very vocal girl! I bark at just about anything! Mitch is not quite as vocal (mom is rolling her eyes and saying thank goodness) - he's more laid back and easy going!

8. We both love riding in dad's pick-up truck! Anytime we're both in the back seat together we know it's going to be a fun adventure!

So here are the rules for those who I am tagging:

1. Each person tagged starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.

2. The person tagged blogs about each of these facts and posts these rules.

3. At the end of the blog entry, list eight people to get tagged.

4. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’ve been tagged, and to read your blog.

I hate to do it but here is our "tagee" list -

Sunshade and Jaffa, Scrappy and Pebbles and Butchy and Snickers and Harley and Hagen

Enjoy!

Until next time................

Brotherly Love

I got tagged by Scuba and Amber to post pictures of me and either Mitch or another animal and to write funny captions so here goes:

Mom took this picture last night. She was eating gingersnap cookies and wanted me and Mitch to do high five! You can see how well we both listen! Just hand over the cookie mom - we don't want to perform! We don't see very many other doggies as a rule and mom has been gardening a real lot trying to get the yard in shape for my sister's wedding next month.
This is her idea of a joke. She asked me where the kitty was! Real funny mom!
Mom went grocery shopping today and came home with 2 yummy marrow bones! Here I am totally enjoying mine. Mitch has one too - it's right there beside him but the little stinker wants mine too! Not this time Pal! Nope!
Last night dad and mom delivered some home grown tomato plants to very good friends of ours, Aunt Patsy and Uncle Rich. We were told that ice cream was the next stop after this. Look at our smiles!
Mom and dad lied - we never stopped for ice cream last night! Mom was whining that she's eating so much ice cream that she'll never fit into her mother-of-the-bride dress! What a poop you are mom!

I think just about everybody has been tagged! If you want to play, consider yourself tagged, okay?

Until next time.............

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Just Plain Silly

I got tagged by Boy and Baby to post of picture of myself in a silly, funny, or weird situation. There's been a lot of tagging going on lately and we sure think this is a lot of fun!

Mom's at it again! She's outside every single day weeding and gardening and cutting grass and edging and clipping! She says this up-coming wedding is gonna kill her before it even gets here!

So now she's trying to fool me into thinking that these are real bunnies. Can you see that I'm laughing at her! She's trying to get me to sniff their little white cotton tails!
Nope, I'm not falling for that one! Not on your life!
I tag Bogie, the Airechicks and my new friend Lex! Let's see some silly pictures!
Till next time..............
Love ya lots,
Maggie

Twinsies

I got tagged by Suki for the celebrity look-alike posting.
I asked dad who he thought I most resembled and he said Martha Stewart!

We both garden and we both love flowers! We also like our vegetables - pretty much all of them!
We both love to eat - I'm not really into the fancy schmansy presentations - quantity is more my style. I don't cook but I do serve - myself - all the time!

So what do you think? Do we bear a striking resemblance or what??!!

I tag Putter, Rudy and Herbie, the Welshie. I can't wait to see which celebrity you look most like!

Love ya lots,

Maggie

My Petco Choice

I wish we could go to Petco everyday! It sure is fun! I was having the hardest time decided what to choose when mom yelled out, hey - a Wooba!

I knew right then that was the toy for me! I've seen Nanook playing with his on his blog and boy does it ever look like fun!
Wanna play Mitch? This looks like a fun toy!

What a great tug toy! Can you see us holding hands too!

Don't forget - it's mine - you can just play with me - you can't have it!

So much for sharing! Looks like Mitch has taken over my new toy! Oh well................. That's little brother's for ya!Till next time............

Mitch's Choice

Mitch really had a good time shopping at Petco. He's already asked mom how soon we can please go back! I do have to agree - it is one of the most funest places in the whole wide world!
So here's Mitch's choice! Joey and Tanner have this same exact Nylabone corn on the cob! Suki and Orson - you guessed it!

That looks kinda yummy! Can I have a taste too?

Maybe if I step on your head you'll give it up! hehehehehe
You're sure stingy! Maybe I won't share MY toy with you!

Mitch is sure loving this corn!

Stop by tomorrow and you can see what mom bought me! I now have the same toy that Nanook has!

Until tomorrow.................

Mitch's First Trip to Petco

Mom had lots of errands to run today and seeing as it's raining here and it's nasty and raw dad asked if he could go too. We turned it into a family affair and we all went! We hit the rental store for lilac tablecloths for my hooman sister's shower tomorrow. Mom also had to go to the bank - the one that doesn't give out cookies! grrrrrrrrrrrrr
We stopped at a couple of other places and then mom asked who wants to go to Petco??!! MEMEMEMEMEMEME!!!!

This was Mitch's first trip to the pet store. Thank goodness dad was with us so he could man a leash! Mom said two pulling dogs would have been too much!

Mitch was in doggy heaven!!! He could believe his eyes! Told ya!

I was having a pretty good time myself checking out all the good stuff!

Mom said we could both choose one new toy! hummmmmmmm the balls look pretty interesting and they're fun!

Mitch was real interested in the huge pig's ears to the point where he even stole one! Mom wasn't crazy about his choice so she made him put it back and choose something else.

Hummmmmmmmm - bones are always a great choice! Should I or shouldn't I?? hummmmm

Mitch was having the time of his life! He was grabbing at everything! Told ya you'd love it here little brother! At long last we made our selections, got back into the truck and went home to play with our new toys!

Check back tomorrow to see what Mitch chose! I'll give you a clue. He chose a toy that Joey and Tanner play with!

So until tomorrow....................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Whose Marrow Bone??!!

Mom went grocery shopping yesterday and brought us each home a nice big juicy marrow bone! I gnawed on mine a bit and decided to save the rest of it for today. Mitch worked and gnawed on his and today all the good stuff has been eaten off.
We came in for lunch and Mitch brought MY bone with him to stay busy! Now remember - this is MY bone and I was saving it!
Hand it over or I'll bite your ear off!
I'm asking you nicely!

You're not listening Mitch. I asked you to give me MY bone!

And I heard you the first time Maggie and you didn't want it, so now it's mine sucker! Nananananana!!!!

Let's try a different approach Pal! I'm going to slam you in the tummy till you give it back!Owwwwwwwwww! No fair! You're bigger and stronger than I am! I don't want to give it back! Stop biting my leg!
Okay, I guess you can keep it! I'll be nice to you today - but just today - never again!
You are still just a baby! A pain in the butt baby - but a baby just the same!

Mom says we should kiss and make up! Wellllllllllllllll - okay mom! How's that??!!Till next time...............

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Our trip to Wentworth's

Dad suggested ice cream again last night! Boy, do I ever love my dad!
This time we headed over to Wentworth's. It's over in the Sleeping Giant area.
That's dad on his way to get us ice cream!
We waited patiently in the truck for dad to come back. This place was hopping with people all getting homemade ice cream! Hurry dad!

Mitch look - here comes dad!

Dad got mom coffee frozen yogurt this time. Mom always shares with us so the rule is no chocolate, no chocolate chips and no raisins!
They're very generous here! Dad got mom a small dish and they gave her 3 scoops - one for each of us, right mom?!

Okay, Maggie, you had your scoop! Now it's my turn!

That was very yummy! We're two very happy pups!

Until next time................

Love ya lots,

Maggie
