My New Food Dish

Hi Everybody! Mitch here!

One of my new year's resolutions was to try to eat more slowly and savor every delicious bite and my dear friend, Ivy went and mentioned the brake-fast bowl and mom had a look at the link that Ivy left in the comment section and thought that Ivy's idea was BRILLIANT and now I'm the proud owner of a brand new red brake-fast bowl! Gee, thanks a whole lot, Ivy!

This is a very strange invention, mom! Do I have to eat around these stoopid looking pillars?

Mom wasn't quite sure how to serve breakfast to me this morning! Maggie and I eat from both sides of Maggie's crate - me on one side and her on the other and it works out well. The brake-fast bowl didn't really fit into our dish holders so mom put my red bowl on the floor and it was a fiasco! It slid everywhere and food was flying all over and I was getting frustrated plus Maggie finished first and was helping me clean up my mess! grrrrrrrr Mom promised me that it would get better!

Din din was much better! Mom got smarter and removed our big water dish and the brake-fast bowl slid right into the slot - no fuss, no muss!

Mom wants to report that it takes me about 3 times longer to eat my food now and she says that this is a VERY good thing! Maggie finished first again and came to see what was taking me so long!

I'm sticking to my resolution, Maggie! I'm taking my time! See how happy I look about the
whole new experience!

I forgot to mention that when we opened the shipping box that the brake-fast bowl came in, there were free treats! We finally got to taste sweet potatoe chips that everyone talks about and there was a gingerbreadman treat too! Can we order from Barkaholics again, mom? How about a brake-fast bowl for Maggie!

We also want to thank Blue, the Thuglet Airedales and Lacylulu for awarding us this very special Bloggers of the World award! Thank you so much! We are so honored! You guys are the BEST! We consider every single one of our blogging friends "Bloggers of the World" so we award all of you - every single one of you! Post it to your blog and give yourselves a big pat on the back!

So until next time..............

Yer friend,

Mitch

  1. We are glad that bowl is working for you. Mom almost bought one of those for Flash but then she started feeding us raw and Flash had to slow down. Smart mom to put it where the water bowl was.

  2. That is the coolest bowl ever, although fortunately, I don't need one. But still. It's pretty cool. My mom is very interested in those things that your bowls slide into. Are they connected to your box? Can you adjust the height?

  4. Congratulation, Mitch. You are really working on your new year resolution very well. I am glad that your mum has found a way to stop the bowl from moving around while you eat.

  8. We just nibble our food throughout the day, so we don't need something like that. If you tip it over, we bet that you could eat a lot fasted and beat Maggie again.

  9. Wow I like that bowl! I don't eat fast as long as Teka is in her crate, but when muzzer heads toward the crate gate, I gobble. I wonder if Teka could get her nose caught between the pillars.

  10. Hi Mitch,

Mom is so happy about your post. I have the same issue as being a 'fast eater', and she's looked into the brake-fast bowl, but wasn't sure it would work. After your successful try with it, Mom is going to get one for me too! Now we can be bowl buddies!!

  11. That bowl is a super fantastic idea. Mom puts Tanner's food dish on some of that rubber stuff you can line your cabinet shelves with.

  12. Hi Maggie,

The bowl is great! Its makes us eat slower so that we dun gob our food down in a few mouthful which might lead to indigestion.

There is a similar drinking bowl which uses the same concept.I seen it in Singapore.

I never be able to use those bowls as i dislike drinking water!

    Lots of Love,
    Sweety

  17. That bowl looks great! Cassidy has never eaten out of a bowl yet. She gets handfed some to make her learn to be gentle has the rest in treat balls, kongs etc so she can take 45 minutes to eat a meal. I stand outside her crate and eat any bits of food that fall through the bars!

  20. Hey Mitch, Wow you look like you have a very interesting eating bowl. My problem is I eat too slowly. Well, I used to hate eating from my bowl when it was on the ground, but now, Mum has bought me something to elevate the bowl, and I eat much better. I used to take 30-45 mins eating my dinner, now I take 10min. Ha ha

  21. Hi Mitch,
I think that bowl is one cool invention (who is the one who comes up with all these ideas??).. however I doubt my mom will get it for me cos as it is, I am a picky eater and am taking super duper long to finish my food!

  22. Mitch, Dude, slow down! You need to savor your food. Plus, I recommend meditation after every meal.

  42. Mitch,

Same thing happen to me. Mama recently bought me a new water bowl. Suppose not to let my beard get wet. She didnt want to let me use a bottle so she tried the new 'invention' bowl. I will try to post it next time.

  43. Mitch, I have the same problem of eating too fast. Just seconds after my girl sets my dishes on the floor, I've got it all in my tummy. Then I start impatiently watching her eat. She says it causes her to eat so fast that she makes herself sick. She's looked at that break-fast bowl but the thing is, I hate eating out of a bowl. Whenever she gives me anything in a bowl, I dump it over. I prefer to eat off a plate, so I guess that it wouldn't work for me.
