Super Sunday

All of our American friends and I'm sure some of our friends from other countries know that today is the Superbowl! It's the New York Giants against the New England Patriots - two New England teams! Our dad is a HUGE NY Giants fan! He has been since he could sit up and watch television - probably as early as 6 months old seeing as his mom was a huge fan and so was his older brother!

Dad is very superstitious when it comes to his Giants! If they won the previous week and we had pizza for dinner then we eat pizza every single week ( This is a real bummer! hehehehe) and if he had a certain shirt on and the Giants win - mom isn't allowed to wash that shirt and dad will wear it every single Sunday! You get the picture! The Giants have won the Superbowl in the past and we all remember those magic peanuts, right mom and Missy?! Every time the Giants scored, we all got a peanut - even me!

I explained this to Mitch and he wondered why the can hasn't been opened yet this year! Don't give up yet, Mitch! They very well might be!

If you stare at that beer and that can of peanuts maybe dad will take the hint!

So this afternoon we'll start our fireplace and we'll light our Sunday candle - most probably the Peanut Butter Cookie scent seeing as this one has brought them the most luck - and we'll take our spots and watch the game with dad!

Normally, we have ooonies with dad's tomatoe sauce on Sunday and mom and dad eat in front of the set so they don't miss a single play but the Superbowl doesn't start until later and we will already have eaten our dindin but that's okay - we'll still have oonies with dad's sauce on them at an earlier hour and maybe dad can open that can of peanuts for later!

So we're ready and we're psyched!

GO GIANTS!!!!!!

WIN, WIN, WIN!!!!!!

So until next time..................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

  16. Hey, Giants fans! The key to success is uttering the RIGHT incantations to the RIGHT Irish Earth-Goddess and drinking the RIGHT Irish beer!

Killians Red...not bad...But the odds would improve with a pint or two of the real Ambrosia of the Old Sod--Guinness, naturally! And ya gotta sacrifice four sheep to the Kerry Blues up the road and mutter incomprehensible syllables (lots of consonants) in Pictish! The Guinness helps. Paying attention to ritual is the most important thing...

    Cheers,
