Soggy Snow and He Stole My Bone

Last night before we went to bed the snow started to fall! I couldn't wait to get up this morning to see how many inches we got!

Bummer - we didn't get much - only about 2 inches and then it started to rain on top of it so now all we have is sloppy, yucky slush!

Mom wanted to check on our swan, Dauby, so she hooked me up to my flexi leash and off we went for a short walkie!

Mom has been so jealous of all the flower pictures that everyone is posting and she's so longing for spring this year! Our witch hazel is finally beginning to come into bloom! Yeaaaaa - color at long last! This Airedale weathervane is right at the entrance to our back door. You can see the yellow witch hazel over the top of the Dale.

Yesterday everything was going along just fine! Mom was preparing dindin and I had a nice Nylabone to chew on to keep me occupied and Mitch was busy playing tug with mom while she was stirring the clam chowder and setting the table!

All of a sudden this little PIA decides that he wants MY bone! Can you even believe the nerve of him?! That's our clock going tick tock, tick tock in the background.

Check out this next picture! Can you see my paw reaching underneath his elbow to reclaim MY bone! I'll fix him yet!
When will my little brother ever learn to share?!

So until next time..............

Love ya lots,

Maggie

  8. Hi M&M,

My mom just loves to run-she hadn't been able to for a long time because she had a hurt foot-but now it;s getting batter so she's back at it. I like running with her-it's our time together without the cats!!! But she takes me on walks sometimes as well-walking is just as much fun! I know you guys must love going out with your mom! Aren't moms the best!!

  15. Hee hee hee. Raja used to do that to me. She would get all the chews and not even chew on them, just make sure I couldn't.

I'd say Momma should get Mitch his own chew, but my guess is the one in your mouth would always look better to him.

  16. Maggie, Mitch has no respect for you at all. You should teach him a lesson! hee...

  17. such a great technique. First, do some bully barking then wait for Maggie to complain to Mum and nick it from under her nose. Cool!

I try bully barking at my folks when I want stuff, but they refuse to hand their lunch over. Maybe I should try the distraction theft thing.

  18. Is that what we have to look forward too when we get a little brother? Penny thinks it's bad enough that I, Poppy steal all her bones and toys until Mom catches me!
Congrats on your post of the month, too...and thanks for voting for us! Airedales RULE for the Post of the Month!

  20. I think Mitch was soooo rude to steal your bone like that without asking your permission...He really needs lessons on how to behave in front of ladies, how to respect & be polite with ladies like you, hee! Oh Maggie, you almost got the bone...

  23. Louie does the same thing to me. He always has to have what I have.. Of course I am not really much better I steal his stuff all the time... Aren't siblings great??

Swede William is a teensy bit on edge due to massive amounts of Lindy Loo hornymones floating all over the place and when he heard your grrrrrowl and bark he jumped a mile.

  32. I take Katherine's bones all the time, and I do pay a dear price. She normally comes that takes it back from me, and I get a severe tongue lashing. And, our Mother just says "I told you not to take her bone, Sam." What kind of support is that, I ask you.

Our mother (who has very few friends, mind you) has a pitiful little blog and since she has no friends she has no one to tag for a cool meme. So, she asked us to tag some of our friends. If you feel like playing, please go here: http://shelbycountymuses.blogspot.com/

She's so pitiful. She needs to get out more.

The footstep of spring slowly melts the snow.
However, in water that seems to be cold.
    Warmth is missed.
