Wheelie Wednesday - Too Many Choices

Hi everybody! It's me, Autumn!

Maggie has turned over the blog to me today and I need to ask for your help! I need to find a permanent solution about where I should rest my weary wheelie body every single night when the lights go out and it's dark!

Choice #1 - my very own canopy bed! Of course it will have to have an autumn theme quilt and I'll need stuffies in bed with me to keep me company so we'll have to work on that if I select this choice!

Choice #2 - Maggie's bed upstairs! It already has the stuffies in it which presents another problem. Once Maggie comes to bed maybe there won't be any room in there for me too?? hummmmmm The sun sure does feel good on my old wheelie bod!

One good thing about my pumpkin wheels is that I can step off of them when I need to lie down and rest! What a lucky girl I am!

Choice #3 - Whoa! This is a REALLY nice choice! An antique cradle with all the fine trimmings and I'd have a real dolly to sleep with! Again, though, I don't see much room for me to squeeze in there next to her! She's sorta hogging the whole bed!
Choice #4 - A nice cushie basket with a pretty quilt, very low to the floor, just the perfect size but there's a kitty in there! He's not looking like he's going to move out anytime soon! Better scratch choice #4!

Choice #5 - Sleeping downstairs with Maggie! awwwwwwwwwwwww, what a nice warm spot! I feel so loved! But Maggie sleeps upstairs all night so this would have to be just a daytime nappy spot!

Choice #6 - My last choice! Sleeping with Mitch! I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling about this choice either! I don't think Mitch wants to sleep with me!

So these are my six choices! Which one do you think I should choose? I'm so confused! I have way too many choices!

Thank you in advance for all of your help!

See you next week!

A Visit From Guinness

Remember on Mitch's gotcha day we were in Rhode Island and we met Jigger the horse? Yesterday we had a visit from Guinness and Jigger Junior! They rode all this way just to come and visit us! What a tough guy this Guinness is to wheel from a whole state away!

I remember seeing you hanging around the Harley Davidson dealership and I also remember meeting your dad, Jigger Senior! Cool jersey, Guinness!

Can you stay awhile and visit or are you in a hurry? You're kinda cute, ya know! You're black and tan just like we are! Now, tell the truth - did you come here to see us or did you maybe have someone else in mind - someone with pumpkin wheels maybe?

What's this I see on top of your head? I'm thinking that this might be a pressie for Miss Autumn - not that I wouldn't love to have a bite of that too!
Have you been riding long? Do you need help getting back up on your horsie?! hehehehe I'm not sure that Autumn will be super impressed meeting you!

Hello, Autumn! I'm Guinness! Pleased to meet you! I've heard so much about you from so many other wheelies!

Well aren't you a sweetie for coming all this way just to meet me! Let's sit down and have a cup of tea and we can really get to know each other!

I think these two are become fast friends! What do you think?! I think we might be seeing a lot of this guy, Mitch!

So until next time................

Love ya lots,

Muskie the Thief and a Package from Koobie

Look at what was in our duck's food dish this morning!

Thank goodness the ducks had the good sense to eat first before this evil muskrat railroaded them out! Mom sorta interrupted him and he turned to leave before he finished his meal!

Good riddance to ya - and DON'T COME BACK!!!!

I guess Mr. Otter hasn't had his muskie meal yet! By the way - several of the timber frame students saw the river otter the day they were here for the tour! Some of them saw him crossing the road we live on at lightning speed and others saw him running across the grass and heading for the pond like when mom saw him so he's still around and if mom wouldn't have been so involved in working on her quilting block she might have gotten a picture of him! DARN!

I got a package from Koobie in the mail today. This gift is for winning 2nd place in the "real" Easter bonnet catagory! Thank you so much, Koobie! You were very sweet to do this!

Mom laughed out loud when she saw the binkie! She said that she needed to run upstairs and get the baby bonnet to get a proper picture! Get over it, mom!

Mitch wasn't too sure what to make of it either!

Koobie sent awesome gifts! I got a leopard squeaky bone and a beautiful orange tennis ball that Mitch immediately helped himself too! Also yummy treats and Koobie even sent mom a beautiful book mark that says, " A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself" - Josh Billings. Mom says thank you so much, Koobie!

Thank you so very much, Koobie! That was a very thoughtful thing that you and your mom did! And thanks for giving my ball back, Mitch!

So until next time................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Our Spring Walk Up Sleeping Giant

Yesterday dad suggested that we climb Sleeping Giant today and this morning mom put our Dogwear Collection harnesses on, filled our cooler with water, grabbed a couple of cookies for a snack and off we went!

It seems like it's been ages since the last time we came! I've got to check out all the new smells!

Is anybody home?!

Mom couldn't resist taking pictures of the cute Dutchman's Breeches~

And some pretty purple violets~

Nature calls! It calls us a lot while we're on our hike here! It must be all of these fantastic smells!

This is a grove of Mountain Laurels! The Mountain Laurel is Connecticut's state flower! It will be in bloom soon but right now it's still a wee bit too early yet! Mom loves all the corkscrew trunks!
Mitch and dad stayed ahead of us the whole time! Dad says that Mitch practically pulls him up the mountain! Lucky dad - mom ends up practically dragging me up the mountain because I need to sniff absolutely EVERYTHING!
There's the castle! Yeaaaaaaaaa - we made it to the top!

What a perfect walk we had! Can you see that beautiful blue sky?! And what makes the day even more perfect is that Mitch and I hear that we're having ooonies for dindin!

So until next time.................

Love ya lots,

Wheelie Wednesday - Quilting and Repair

Hi everybody! It's me, Autumn, and it's my turn to blog!

I have to let you all know that mom is doing a special rush job for the Airedale quilting bee! Three of the ladies who sew for the bee had problems making the deadline because of other committments and mom stepped up and said that she'd help out, so while mom is busy sewing her block I thought I'd show you some of the mini-quilts that I have made! I sew too, ya know!

This is me at my sewing machine! The quilt that I'm currently working on is a carrot theme and I made it because Maggie is so nutty over Mr. Carrot! I sure hope she likes it although I think it will only cover her paw! The quilt behind me hanging on the wall is a mini-Amish quilt!

This one I made for the kitchen table! I used a heart theme because my dad is a heart transplant recipient! This runner is very long so I sorta had to bunch it up to get the whole thing in the picture!

This next one is all Airedale heads! It was so much fun to do! The wooden Airedale head on the wall is called intarsia and I didn't do that. A lady named Barbara Curtiss made it. Barbara Curtiss is my friend at New England Airedale Rescue! Doesn't she do beautiful work!
This is another one that I've made! This one is a real mini mini! It's another Amish design!

Now I need to tell you a distressing story! See this little needle felted bear? His name is Oatmeal! Well, somehow his tummy got split open and all of his stuffing is coming out! He's not feeling too well so he's resting. I told him that I would help him out and sew him back up and make him as good as new!

I asked Mitch if he knew anything about this most unfortunate accident and he said no! I think he's telling the truth, don't you? His eyes do look honest!

So then I asked Maggie if she had any valuable information and she just gave me a kiss and told me how badly she felt! I don't think she did it either!

Nobody seems to know what happened to Oatmeal but he's looking and feeling awful so it's time for me to get behind my sewing machine and help him out!

Don't worry Oatmeal! I'll help you!

See you all next Wednesday!

Timber Frame Class Weekend

For the last two days - Saturday and Sunday - dad has been up in Manchester teaching the art of timber framing to 30 new students! He teaches his class once a year in the spring and he's been doing it now for as long as I can remember, so I guess that's like FOREVER seeing as I'm almost 10 years old!

Each morning mom packed the truck with muffins and bagels and apple turnovers and cinnamon rolls and orange juice and we never even got to sniff or taste a thing! All of these delicious snacks left the house and never returned! Last night dad came home dragging his butt like he does every year but still feeling very fulfilled to have taught 30 new and excited men and women to timber frame!

Guess what he brought home with him? PIZZA! OMG, we missed you so much, dad! Thank you for thinking of us! When do we eat?!

Mom broke out the pizza for lunch today! OMG, I'm in Heaven!

My turn, Maggie! You can't have it all! Mom says that I'm being much more polite than you are today!
Is there any more, mom? I'm starving to death!

This pizza is sooooooooooooo yummy! Mom says that this kind is eggplant and she's thinking the other pieces are artichoke! Keep it comin', mom!

Don't you just love TimberFrame weekend, Mitch?! Wait till you hear what else happens! Last year you were too young to get the full effect!

Today is what dad calls the Tour of Barns day! These students come to our house and see dad's workshop and tour our barns and eat more snacks! Today is one of my favorite days in the whole entire year! You see, dad bought 3 dozen Dunkin donuts this morning for coffee time and mom and I can't wait to head outside when the students leave to tour other barns that the Northford TimberFramers have raised in our area. We want to see if these piglets left us any edible donuts so we can have our own pawty! Mom says that for once clean up is a blast!

It's now 1:30 PM and the students have left to tour other barns! whoooohooooooooooo! Time to clean up, mom! OMG - HURRY!!!!

Holy Moley! Have a look at this puppy! This will feed me and Mitch for an entire year! I'm checking for crumbs!

Guess what? The students left us 4 donuts! We take back all the mean piggy comments we ever made about them!
OMG, Maggie! You were sure right about being one of the best days of the entire year! This jelly donut is to-die-for!

Bagels too??!! After eating all this good stuff do you think we'll still have room for our dindin?! YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!What a day this has been! Do we really have to wait a whole year for this day to come around again?!

So until next time....................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch
