Our 4th

We didn't have the exciting 4th of July with picnics and fireworks like some of you other doggies! Our day started off with our usual walkie - an hour later than normal because of the rain, but we're not complaining because we did get it in!

Mitch always has to be in the lead! If he's not, then he just isn't happy! Look at that nasty boy giving me the raspberries! I can kick your butt if I really want to, Mitch!

The duckies were up close to the fence today looking for someone/anyone to stop and feed them bread! Can you see the one duck with the fancy pompom hat on?!

When we got home from our walkie, mom and dad had a road trip to make and they decided that because the skies were overcast and it was a tiny bit on the cooler side that we could go too! YEAAAAAAAA!

It really wasn't an exciting trip but we did get a couple of cookies out of the deal! Here we are on the way home! This is the way a holiday should be spent, right?

Mom and dad got invited to a cookout later in the afternoon but luckily for us they made it snappy! The fireworks there rang a bell in their heads that maybe they needed to come home and help me deal with the boomer noises here! I'm not a big fan of fireworks and I'm putting that mildly! I HATE them with a passion - there, I said it! They scare me to death and the 4th of July is the worst holiday ever! I'll be so glad when it's over! Mitch could care less about any of it! Maybe it's because he's young yet! I hope he never gets scared like I do! It's a curse!

Happy 4th of July to all of our USA pals and to all of our International friends, have a nice weekend!

So until next time...............

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

  2. We are glad you got to go along on the road trip. But shouldn't you have stopped for ice cream or somethin? Ah well, can't count on the humans to do it right all the time.

Teka always has to lead the parade too. That is OK, cause I get to find better sniffies.

  7. Aah..yes. A lovely holiday indeed (minus the fireworks of course). I absolutely hate fireworks too. We get it here on New Years Day, Chinese New Year and Hari Raya...That's way too many!

  8. Can you believe that H-Mom thought it was a good idea to take our bedtime walk when the grass was wet and the sky was still thunder and lightning? And then, someone was setting off fireworks right on the other side of the river. I almost dragged H-Mom across the park and into the bushes to hide. Doesn't she KNOW? I am so embarrassed. She actually told Man-Dad that she thought she was going to bring me home in a bodybag from terror. And he called me a "candy-a$$." Not funny. Happy 4th anyway!

Here in Switzerland it is the 1rst of August our national day...that means that we are going to France from 31rst of July to 3rd of August just to be far away from those horrible fireworks...Maybe next year you should come in Switzerland for the 4th of July....
