My BooBoo Surgery

Guess what? I got hosed out of my breakie! Can you even believe that my vet would be so mean?! But I didn't miss my walkies! Mom and dad and Mitch and I walked for a mile or so this morning so I could pee and poo!
About 7AM we headed down to Central Animal Hospital in New Haven! When we got inside I noticed 3 stacked cages in the corner of the waiting room and guess what was inside these cages! KITTIES! I barked my hello and told dad that I wanted to touch noses with them but he said NO!

It wasn't long before a nice lady came out from the back and slipped a skinny red, white and blue lead over my head (mom was waiting for it to snap at any moment because it was really wimpy for a strong girl like me) and put a hospital band around my neck and my pretty red Airedale collar was un-hooked and given to mom and dad to take home with them. Mom and dad both said they'd be back soon to pick me up and the lady took me behind closed doors and I went willingly!

There are lots of strangers here and funny smells and bright lights! This is a very strange place but I know you are all with me in spirit and I know that mom and dad are coming back so I'm trying not to be afraid! Thank you all for your support! It means a lot to me and Mitch and mom and dad! It's around 10:30 and my vet just called mom and dad and told them that my booboo surgery went just fine but they found a broken toofie in my mouth that needs to be removed! Mom had no clue that I even had a broken toofie seeing as I never told her! Do you think the bad boy was a marrow bone? Mom will ask the vet and see what his thoughts are!

Hi everyone! It's me, Mitch! Look what the UPS man just delivered for my sissy!

It's a soft e collar and mom wanted me to model it for you but I ran away screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Mom figures that Maggie can wear the hard plastic transparent lampshade throughout the day and then have something more comfy to use at night! Mom is hoping that Maggie can still sleep on her back because this is her most favorite way to sleep. She's old and we think comfort is important for her!I miss my sissy! I want her to come home! We'll keep you posted!

So until next time...................

Yer friend,

Teka thinks that comfy collar looks neat, but she says to tell Maggie that the hard collar works as both a weapon and a shovel. We are thinking healing thoughts.

Maggie, I hope you get to go home soon and heal fast. I bet you'll feel lots better after your booboo surgery and having the broken tooth pulled.
Mitch, be careful with Maggie when she comes home. I don't think she'll be in the mood to play which I know is what you're going to want to do. This is a perfect oportunity to use the poor doggy eyes and get your parents to do whatever you want them to do to keep you away from Maggie and entertained. It worked when my catbrother was sick.
Tell your Mom good thinking on the collar. I didn't even know they made the soft ones! Your Mom deserves some pizza and icecream for finding one!!

Would you like me to come and be your nurse? I am not as trained as Asta and Lacie, but I would try very hard to help makes you all better.

M&M, Cookie sure is a very nice pup. In fact all the pups jie jie had fostered will never misbehave when jie jie is around. When they were all with us, if jie jie think that they are playing too rough, she only need to shout a "Hey! What are you all doing?" and they will all freeze and come gather around her with innocent look. I guess Cookie never forget that. hee..

We're glad Maggie's surgery went well and her booboo is gone. That comfort cone looks interesting. Just don't let Mitch use it as a chew toy while Maggie is wearing it.

Happy new years!!!!

Big hugs to you Maggie.. Glad the surgery went well and your vet did a thorough exam on you and found that tooth. Get well soon!

Oh Maggie!
I am sorry I had no idea that you had a boo-boo! I am happy that you are better now though! Yippee!

I once fractured my tooth on a cow hoof chewy thing - they were really good for keeping my teeth clean but I guess my teeth were too soft or something cause I split my tooth in half and had to have it removed!! You would think my mom would know better because she is a vet! hmph! No more bones of any type for us. Some dogs do fine but some dogs can fracture their teeth on hard chew toys.

I am happy that you are home safe and soud.

Happy new year!

Maggsie Girl!

I'm so stinkin' glad your boo boo surgery went smoothly and that you were home in no time! The only concern I had was that your boo boo wouldn't want to leave such a sweet girl as you. Obviously your vet took care of that.

So, about your toofie! Did maybe the other part of it get broken off in the booty of one naughty little brother? Hmmm? Or, have you been hunting big game out in the woods?

Stella & I are sending you loads of healing goober smooches and snuggles. My girl wishes she could give you an atomic booty scritch to help relax you.

Take it easy, sistah!

Goober love & more smooches,
