Huskee's Evil Deed

Back in May, Huskee Boy had a contest. He got put in his naughty corner for 40 whole minutes! He wanted us to try to guess what evil deed he did to deserve that kind of punishment!

The choices:

1) Chewed a hole in mom's favourite blouse
2) Peed on the big bed
3) Tried to swollow Moosie
4) Performed an opawration on one of mom's Care Bears
5) Had an affair with another pup behind my Baby's back
Our answer: hummmmmmmmm, we think you must have peed on the big bed but it was an accident and we're allowed those, right?!

Huskee's confession:

FINE!! I peed a HUGE puddle on the big bed at 11pm and the hoomans had to wash the bedsheet and mattress protector in the middle of the night. They also had no mattress to sleep on that night as we had to air the wet patch. *whew.. it sure feels so much better after I have confessed*...

There were several doggies that got it right so names were put into a hat and 3 of them were drawn! We just happened to be one of the 3 winners! And Monday a box arrived from Huskee and his mom!

This is the card congratulating us on being winners!
And these are the prizes! It's all SNACKIES!!!! OMG, BarkBars, which we've NEVER had before and lamb jerky and paw print snackies! Which one should we try first, Mitch?

Huskee and Moosie also sent me birthday stuffies for my 10th birthday! Thank you so much! Being 10 is the greatest age in the whole wide world! This is my pretty handmade card!

Now just a minute here! This is my mousie from Huskee and Moosie, Mitch! I guess you can play with him but don't rip him up, okay? Promise?

OOOOOOOOOOOOO - a pretty girlie kittie stuffie! She's so cute!

She's going upstairs to sleep in my bed with me! No way will Mitch destroy her! She's adorable!

Thank you so very much, Huskee and Moosie! You guys are super generous and we really appreciate it!

So until next time................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

Wheelie Wednesday - Dreaming of the Beach

Hi everybody! It's me, Autumn!

At the end of August, mom and dad and Maggie and Mitch will head to Nantucket for a whole week and I'll be staying here and weeding the garden and picking all the tomatoes and eggplant and squash and cucumbers that ripen and having a feast with the other stuffies that live here! Thank goodness dad has a big garden because we have lots of mouths to feed! Several of the WoolieDales decided to join me for a photo! This is only half of them! The others are scattered around the house keeping busy doing who knows what!

I thought it might be fun to pretend that we were going to the beach today! I don't like water any more than Maggie does so just to stand in the sand and absorb the rays is good enough for me! I had no problem getting a couple of friends to join me!

I also thought it might be fun to show you one of Miss Barbara's paintings that's been in my house for a good long time now! It's an Airedale at the beach and she's barking at her sunbathing hoomans to please pick up my red ball and throw it to me! Mom loves this painting! It reminds her of Nantucket, her Heaven on Earth!

If you click on Miss Barbara's link, you will see that she has just published a book with 50 pages of her Airedale paintings and cute prose that was written by her hubby, Mr. Leonard! Guess who graces the cover of her new book????? Are you ready for this!!!!! My sissy, Maggie!

Mom's got the book on order and we can't WAIT till it comes so we can see all of Miss Barbara's beautiful Airedale paintings! If any of you care to order her book, information is here! We'll be sure to do a book review for you!

See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn

Crumps

For the past few days our dad has been involved in dismantling an antique barn. He's been getting up earlier than usual and missing our morning walkies so he can spend a long hard day at Crump's taking down this barn. He doesn't even return home to eat lunch with us! Mom packs his lunch so he can spend the whole day there! We miss our dad!

Yesterday, dad called mom and asked her to run a change of clothes over to him so mom packed what dad had asked for and we jumped in the car and took a ride over to make our delivery and see how the project was coming along!

When we got there, there were barn swallows flying around everywhere! Gosh, no wonder! What happened to the roof??!! Apparently nests got disturbed. Oops!

Dad said that bats got disturbed too - HUNDREDS of them! Mom was so glad she wasn't there to see bats flying around everywhere! YUK!

The rest of the roof will come off and timbers will start to come down! Our friend Captain Bwob (originally from the great state of Massachusetts) send us these photos. You're inside looking up!
Half of the roof rafters are gone in this picture!

Dad says this barn was built in the early 1800's, which is not old to a lot of you living across the pond, but here in the United States, that's old to us! Once all the timbers are down, they'll be washed and repaired! This barn is going to be saved and restored and will go back up in Crump's yard but farther back away from the road from where it now stands.

The barn will get new rafters and new siding! Mom and dad will be involved in this project for probably a whole year. Here's the lastest picture! These boys are movin'!

So until next time.................

OH NO!!!!

Remember the Blueberry cookie treats that Kirby gave Mitch for MY birthday?

Kirby's mom told us that the lady at the store where she bought them pigged out on a whole entire bag of them and Kirby's mom also told us that Lenny's dad ate some and thought they were delicious so when mom ever opened the bag and stuck her nose inside and took a deep whiff we knew we were in deep doodoo!

OMG, look, Mitch! She's eaten half of the bag on us already!

Gee, thanks for remembering to share with us, mom! After all - they are OUR treats and not yours!

We would suggest to all you doggies NOT to buy this brand if you want to eat them yourself and not have your hoomans eat all of them for you!

So until next time.................

Yes, Mitch got some too! He just woofed his down so fast that you can't see it anymore! But you can see that he's a happy boy!

Both wallymelons were awesome - cold and sweet and refreshing!

Wheelie Wednesday - A Day in the Life

Hi everybody! It's me, Autumn!A few days ago was the unveiling of the Airedale quilting bee's 2008 quilt that gets raffled off at the dog show in Montgomery, Pennsylvania in October! The bee has been working for a whole year on this quilt - from deciding on a theme to choosing a block that depicts what your dog is doing in a twenty-four hour day, to assembling the quilt and quilting the quilt and then finally marketing the quilt and hoping that it makes TONS of money for Airedale rescue! This years' quilt is "A Day in the Life"! Isn't it a beauty?!Mom contributed two blocks this year. The first block was planned! Maggie and Mitch both love to bark their heads off to let mom know that the mailman has arrived! We don't have a mail slot - we have a mailbox down by the road! Poor mom would never be able to read her mail in one piece if we had the slot! This block was a last minute - beat-the-deadline block. One of the other quilters had personal problems and mom stepped up to the plate! It's a therapy dog bringing joy to a lady! Just so you know, mom does not draw her own patterns! Our quilting bee has artists that draw for us! It makes it a whole lot stressful for those of us who can't even draw a simple stick figure! A lady named, Linda did the patterns for mom!
Isn't this block adorable? It's called Cat Dreams !
This Dale is helping his mom wash the dishes!
This guys is getting his teeth brushed!
This Dale found the inside of his daddy's shoe and he's returning it to him! haha

Each block is a work of art and is part of an Airedale's day! If you'd like to see each block up close and personal and read about each artist, click on this link and keep clicking "next" at the bottom of the page -- http://www.airedalerescue.net/a_day_in_the_life/index.htm

Our Queen bee, Jeri, will also be running contests and doing fun things to promote the quilt. Mom has donated one of her hand knit felted purses as one of the incentive gifts to help sell raffle tickets.

Mom will be buying her raffle tickets soon and hoping to win this beauty!! Thank you in advance for supporting Airedale Rescue!

See you next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn

I love my Sunshine so much, Gaia! Thank you very, very much!

There were two treat bags inside the box! One has a celery Pegetable in it plus more cookies and other yummy treats! Can't we please open this, mom? The wonderful smell is driving both of us NUTS!!!
OMG, these are the homemade treats that Gaia's mom made! ummmmmmmmmmm - smell the aroma, Mitch!

Happy 6th Birthday, Snickers!

It's our pal Snickers birthday and we're celebrating with her at her house! She has the most gorgeous grounds for the perfect pawty!
We hear there's going to be swimming and even though I'm not fond of the water, I do like to hang out and dangle my princess toes and watch everybody else splash and play. You probably won't be able to keep Mitch out of the pond though! Let's hope he doesn't eat all the koi!

Excuse me, Mitch! I believe you have the bottoms to MY bathing suit on your hairy body! Give them back! We hear there's going to be game playing too so we decided to bring my frisbee that Bogie gave me for my birthday!
Don't forget to pack it in our suitcase, okay, Mitch?!

We also hear there's going to be a campfire and storytelling and roasting weiners and marshmallows for s'mores! yummmmmmmmmmmm We've already got the weiners packed! We made sure we got the biggest ones we could find!

And the pupcakes have been packed!
I think I hear AireRuby! Yup, she's coming in for a landing!

See you all at Snickers's pawty!

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch
