Eye Watch Friday

It's Norwood's eye watch Friday again!
If you've never played, all you have to do is take a close up picture of your eye and post it! Simple, right?!
I've got my eye on you as I sniff and bite Mitch's butterfly ear!
My ears smell as sweet as a rose, Maggie!
Hi everyone! It's me, Mitch!
Take a look at this picture!
I bet you're thinking that I'm liking this beautiful purple butterfly bush flower, right?
Wrong! There is a flying creature and he's trying to attack my butt and I can't stand anything that flies around me and tries to land on me! I know that my buddy, Stanley, doesn't like it any better than I do!
Is there anyone else out there that hates pesky bugs to bug them?!

So until next time..................

Love ya lots,

True Colors Thursday - Red, White and Blue

It's true colors Thursday! If you've never played, you're missing out because it's really fun! All you have to do is let our hostess, Blue know with a stop by her blog!Today's colors are red, white and blue!

Mom made this red, white and blue wall hanging awhile back!
This dolly sits on the desk in our dining room! Her dress is red and white and she's sitting on top of blue books!
This priority tape is red, white and blue!

Our dad has a thing for George Washington, the Father of our Country. George is dressed in red, white and blue! This patriotic Santa is holding a red, white and blue flag! His job is to light our staircase so Mitch and I can safely go up and down the stairs when it's dark!
This red, white and blue banner hangs out the front bedroom window of our house! Mitch's bed is right in front of that window!
Next week we get to post our favorite color on true colors Thursday! hummmmmmmmmm, what's our favorite color, Mitch?
We're off to figure it out and to work on it!

So until next time................

Wheelie Wednesday - Chicken Parm

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
Henrietta and I are in the kitchen today and we're making a chicken recipe! No offense, Henri! We're making chicken parmesan for the family for dindin tonight! You'll need a large frying pan. Pour in a little bit of olive oil - enough to just cover the bottom of the pan!Shake in quite a bit of garlic powder and then add the raw chicken breasts!
The next step is to sprinkle a little bit of oregano over the tops of the chicken in your pan and then top it with tomato sauce! This sauce just happens to be my dad's sauce!
Yup, he makes his own and boy oh boy, it is sure yummy!
Now sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top of it!Cover the frying pan and turn the heat up to get the mixture good and hot and almost to the boiling point!
Now turn the heat back down to a slow simmer and simmer the chicken for 45 minutes! Your house is going to smell AWESOME!
That's is! It's that simple!

I needed a vege to serve with my chicken parm so out to the garden I went! It took all of my strength to drag this monster zucchini from the garden to the back porch!
I'm pooped!Maggie and Mitch wanted you all to know that Cecil can see! His surgery was a success!
You can read all about it at Mackie's blog! We are absolutely thrilled for you, Cecil! YEAAAAAAAAAAA

See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn

Blueberry Buckle

We're helping mom make blueberry buckle and she says that we're the best helpers ever!
Toss me another one, mom!
Blueberry Buckle

Cream by hand 1/4 cup shortening, 3/4 cup sugar and 1 egg. Add 1/2 cup milk.

Sift together 1 1/2 cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Gently fold in 1 1/2 cups blueberries. Spread this mixture into a greased 9 X 13" pan.

Now for the crumb topping - mix together 1/4 cup shortening, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/3 cup flour.

Sprinkle the crumb topping on top of the blueberry mixture and pop it into a 350 degree oven for approx 25 minutes.

Yum - I love raw batter!
Twenty-five minutes later~
We're the official taste testers!
Please say a prayer for our buddy, Cecil. He's the dogging on our sidebar up at the very top! He's having surgery today on his eyes and our paws are crossed that this surgery will make him see again! Maybe you could stop by Mackie's blog and lend your support, please!

So until next time...................

Checking on Dad at Crumps

Remember this barn that dad and his guys dismantled last year about this same time?
This was the barn before it was dismantled! It's very close to the road! The barn is being rebuilt and that has been mom and dad's job this summer - scrubbing timbers and repairing them and making new ones and it's Mitch and my job to supervise and we're doing one heck of a job and getting paid handsomely, we might add!

Today mom and Mitch took a ride over to the Crump property for a look! This is where the barn used to be! Now it's green grass and a leftover pile of rocks!
And its new home is wayyyyyyyyyy over there!
The mason, Vincent, is all finished with the foundation and now it's time for the work crew to start building the first floor. Dad calls it the deck!
The barn will be raised on this deck but not until NEXT July - a whole year from now! We have a lot of work ahead of us before the raising happens!
I need to leave pee-mail! Yes, I know - I'm peeing like a girl!
There's my dad and all of my uncles that I get to hang out with at home in my workshop!
Hi guys! It's me, Mitchy!
Can I stay for coffee break?!
I guess not! Mom says it's time to go home and cut some grass!
See you all another day, guys!

This is the front of my house!
We'll do another barn project update soon!

So until next time................

This is a picture of MitchyBoy posing with one of dad's Indians! Mitch goes nuts when dad turns the key and starts the engine! Mom says it's not a good thing! The rules are that we tag 5 others to play this game. We tag Jake and Fergie, Chance, Laney, Sue and her Portuguese Water Dogs, and Brodie and Ailsa.

Wheelie Wednesday - The July Garden

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
There is so much blooming in the garden just now so I figured I'd take you all on a quick tour!
The butterfly bushes are beginning to come into bloom here! This one is called black knight! It's a deep purple that almost looks black! And the butterfly weed is in bloom! This gorgeous flower matches my hat!The bee balm and the yarrow are also in bloom! We need to transplant the yarrow into a sunnier location and we'd have a whole lot more yellow flowers on the plant! The leaves smell so pretty when you rub up against them!
The dill is also in bloom! Time to make more dill vinegar!
We just love Queen Anne's Lace! It's so gorgeous but very invasive in the garden!
On my way to the back door, I couldn't help but snap a picture of this gorgeous Shirley Poppy! So far we have only had white ones bloom this year!
Right outside the back door, the Hosta is beginning to bloom! Mom never really cared for Hosta before but she has since changed her mind! They can be very pretty growing in the shade! That's our quick tour for today!

See you all next Wednesday!

A Tale Of Two Piggies

Mitch and I each have our very own piggies! Mitch got his blue one on his gotcha day in March and I just got my pretty pink piggie for my birthday!
That's right, Mitch! The blue one is yours and the pink one is MINE!
You will notice that mine is still clean and looks brand new and Mitch's piggie has a hole in it already!
If you would take care of your stuffies, these things wouldn't happen, Mitch!
Now don't be eying my piggie, Mitch! You can have your dirty old ripped one! I'm keeping mine clean and pristine!

Your poor piggie must hurt from having that huge gash in his back! Maybe if you ask mom, she'll sew your piggie up - good as new again!
Thanks so much for offering to patch me up, Mitch's mom! I owe you!
We got tagged by Twinkle to open our picture folder and to post a picture that has never been posted on our bloggie before! This was tough because most of the pictures in our bloggie folder have been posted but we don't think this one has ever made it to the blog!

This picture was taken while we were waiting for dad to come back to the truck with FOOD - either ice cream or Glenwood hamburgers or Lenny and Joe's fish sandwiches, we can't remember which!
So now we're drooling just thinking about it!
So until next time....................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch
