An English Visitor

Dad has been entertaining a man named Mark for a few days now! His is from South Yorkshire, England. The draw is Indian motorcycles! He's had lunch with us a couple of times and mom and dad took him down to Pepe's pizza and of course, he loved it! Who wouldn't?!
He brought dad a wonderful picture book!
Yorkshire is sure pretty!
Gosh, Maggie! This chapter is called The Dales! They sure have funny looking Airedales in Yorkshire! We would call those sheep here!
Today is our sissy's housewarming pawty. Mark has been invited to go with mom and dad but not us! How fair is this? He's only a visitor and we're residents and this is OUR sissy!
Anyway, mom agreed to bring the potato salad for the BBQ and we agreed to help out in the kitchen even though we didn't get an invitation!
The potatoes have been boiled and the hard boiled eggs are all set to go and the onion has been diced and now it's time to add the celery!
Mitch is the official taste tester! That boy LOVES celery!
We just got back from our walkie not long ago and Maggie is pooped! Maybe you're doing too much too soon, Maggie?
Don't bother getting up, Maggie! I can handle this project just fine on my own!
Do you need me to chew for you too?!
I'm just fine, Mitch! I was waiting for everything to be mixed together! No need to rush! It's my new motto!
This is sure yummy mom!And this is the end result!
We sure wish we were going to the pawty too! Don't have too much fun without us, okay?!

So until next time..................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

  6. oh Maggie and Mitch, say "Hi" to your English friend, Mark from us here in Scotland!

We love Yorkshire, and often go on holiday there. And we especially love the Yorkshire Dales. James Herriot country!

Ask him if he knows a place called Hawes, it is so beautiful there!

Sorry you can't go to the party, it truly is a dogs' life sometimes, isn't it?

  10. Not going to the party - I don't think that is right - you had better have a party while mom and dad are away and behave like all kids and leave the mess for them to clean to clean up !!!!

  11. Maggie. We're glad you're remembering and stickin' to your "don't rush it" motto. Good girl.

If you guys enjoy your Yorkshire book, and are wanting another to look at... one of Moma's favorites is James Herriot's Yorkshire You know. James Herriot of All Creatures Great and Small (She can watch those reruns forEVER!). She likes that book so much, she's got two copies. (That was a surprise she just discovered. We coulda told her all along, but she didn't ask.)

Anyhow.. she says there's no prettier country. And you're right. The Dales are rather confusing.

Ask for leftovers in a doggie bag,
    Love,
    Jake and Fergi xxoo

  13. Hey Maggie & Mitch:

Does Mark know Harry & Cassidy? or Eric? OHHHH ask him if he knows Jackson......

Sorry about your invite to the big Party - maybe she's going to have a special pawty where you and Mitch are the only guests.....

Ask Mom to ask her if maybe that's the plan....

That book that Mark brought looks like it's a nice place....

Have a GREAT time protecting the house while Mom & Dad are out !!!

  14. A Yorkshire picture book ---hmmm does it take the place of attending a BBQ party?? Just sayin'. That is a bit weird that they call sheep Dales in the UK. Mommy just cuffed me saying Dales are a place. Ohhhhhhh. The burger looked tasty enough but 4get that celery stuff! Have agood weekend.

  24. Celery! Nummmmers! crunchcrunchcrunch.
Maggie, please be careful and don't over do big walkies right away. You need to let everything heal up and then you need to do some light conditioning. Maybe half a walkie? SHE has to do two walkies....shorter walkie with me n Puffy, then drop Puffy off and do a loooong walkie with me. She needs more exercise anyways!

    toodles,
    Bonnie
