Wheelie Wednesday - Pumpkins

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!I guess you heard that mom and dad went to the Durham fair on Friday night and that Maggie and Mitch were left at home with me! They were pretty upset to have missed out on all of that yummy fair food!

Mom did tell me about all of the pretty flower arrangements that she saw~And the beautiful pumpkin wall hanging that won a ribbon~And the cute pumpkin girlie~ And then she showed me pictures of the GIANT pumpkins - pumpkins bigger than anything I've ever seen in my whole life!
This pumpkin weight 903 .5 pounds! Can you even imagine how many pumpkin pies you could make from this one pumpkin?!
This one only weighs in at 614 pounds! What do you mean ONLY?!
I wish I could stand next to this pumpkin and feel tiny!
And then she showed me this one! It's so big that it broke all records for pumpkins grown in the state of Connecticut! It weighs 1,449.5 pounds!
That is one HUGE pumpkin! I picked this pumpkin just a few days ago in of my garden. It weighs in at 5.5 pounds! I guess I'll never win ribbons at the Durham fair!See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn

  7. We are wondering how one picks up a pumpkin that weighs a ginormous amount. We'd rather have your 5.5 pound pumpkin any day. Imagine how much goop one would have to scoop out of that big one - slimy strings everywhere!!

  13. Those are some pumpkins! And the pumpkin quilt is beautiful! But your pumpkin is the prettiest of all - the color is gorgeous and a just-plucked pumpkin from one's garden is so very perfect!

  14. Great fair photos!

I'm sad you didn't get to go to the fair. There are some interesting creatures, smells AND food and the humans could win you both a giant blue M&M stuffie!

Maybe next year you could sneak in as an exhibit!

  18. Miss Autumn. Those pumpkins were ginormously amazing. And the quilt was striking. And the flower arrangements were oh so lovely. But YOU, pretty wheelie, are what deserves the award at the Fair. That picture of you weighing your perfect pumkin was PRICELESS! We love that photo!!!! Our suggestion? Print it and tack a big blue ribbon on it!

    Love,
Jake, Fergi (and Wheeless Wheelie - he'll love your Wednesday posts, too. We just know it!)

  21. We saw a huge pumpkin like that in Maryland once. Dad bought our pumpkin a couple days ago and carved it. He let us eat some of the inside stuff and it was delicious. Now Bailey and Norma Jean spend all their time trying to kiss the pumpkin so they can taste the inside stuff.

  33. But your pumpkin is so perfect in shape and color and all. Mom loves that wall hanging. The big thing around here this season seems to be what they are calling warty pumpkins - really ugly if you ask us.
