Albert

Our weatherman named our first snowstorm of the year Albert! It's how they keep track of how many snowstorms we get this winter!
Saturday, we waited FOREVER for the snow to start and naturally, it stared when it was time for us to go to bed!
That's okay! The next morning we were raring to go out and play in it!
You will not believe this but mom says that every single picture that she took was just horrible so she trashed them all and gave up on picture taking on Sunday!
But Monday was a great day! The sun was out and the temps were a wee bit warmer and all of the snow was still in place!
Dad estimates that we got about a foot of snow. It was hard to tell because it's been so windy and it blows and drifts and there are places, like where I am sitting right now, where there is none and there are other spots when the snow is up to my belly! ewwwwwww, it's cold! HAHA
We love it! Mitch and I LOVE the snow!Come on, Maggie! Let's play!
That's Jonathan, our garden horsie that stays outside all year because he's too heavy for mom to lift! The snow has covered his eyes and he can't see!
Why is he eating a pencil? YUK!Those are sure big footprints! Do you think we can walk on the ice too, mom?
Maybe I should go for a swim with Dauby! She looks pretty happy and content so the water must be nice and warm!
We hear there's another storm coming - possibly on Christmas day! Oh boy! We can't wait!

So until next time................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

  1. Uh oh, I hope not on Christmas day because my sissy is coming with my nephew Misha and I don't think I would like him spending the night.

Glad you dales are enjoying the big snow. Me? I don't really like the cold. Momma says I am moving about like a little old man. Yuh, because the dog cave is totally drafty.

We've had fun playing in the snow now that we have paths made and don't sink in over our heads!!

  3. Your snow looks like fun to play in, but our mom prefers the bare grass! She always wishes for flurries on Christmas day, but after that, it can go away! She spent too many years living in Ohio and freezing her butt off all winter! It does help to put you in the Christmas spirit, though!

  4. Birds must have great little internal furnaces. Imagine swimming around in that cold water. We used to chop the ice off the pond and the ducks would jump right in.

  5. It seems like Albert has made you very happy! That snow looks beautiful, but I have to say it looks too cold for me and Penny!

  6. We've got snow here too!! Isn't it fun?? Your swan friend must have a heated pond if he's so comfortable swimming outdoors in the winter...how lucky!! Maybe you should go for a swim :)

  7. Oooohh! That swan looks like an iceberg that broke away and is floating free. As much as I like a good splash in water, I think I'll leave Dauby alone. That Jonathan fellow. however, looks like good fun. So instead of apples like my friend Harley, he eats pencils? Does he have a lead belly? I only have a few more days to play in the snow before Mom and I fly down to South Carolina where I can race along on big wide white stretches...of beach!

Right now it's sprinkling rain on our beautiful snow so we're hoping the weatherman is right about it getting colder (again) and snow for Christmas! M&M who has on that metal collar? Does it help your momma walk you nicely? Baby uses a choke chain for nice-walksies and I,Hootie, need a gentle leader. Okay just wanted to stop by and say LOVE you guys and have a great Christmas!
