My New Bedroom

Hi everyone! It's me, MitchyBoy!
Remember the guestroom that mom and dad worked on last year? Autumn showed you the stencil just about one year ago!
They did finish the bedroom and it was just beautiful and we did have guest sleep in it a couple of times.
Well, mom and dad talked about switching their bedroom that's in the front of the house to this guestroom, which is in the back of the house. They thought it might be more quiet in the summertime when the windows are open!
Mom had a brainstorm to not wait until the summer to switch!

Come on up!
Dad made this canopy bed for mom in 1999. She asked dad to build her a canopy bed not long after they got married and dad built everything else under the sun but he refused to tackle a bed for her. And as they say, all good things come to those who wait!
Mom finally got her beautiful cherry canopy bed and she LOVES it and dad actually had a great time making it for her!

The schoolhouse quilt on the bed was the first patchwork quilt that mom ever made and she now needs to add fabric on either side to make it longer. The quilt was made for a full size bed and the canopy bed is a queen.

We're moved in and it's very cozy and very comfy!
This is my spot right next to the radiator! I've been a very happy and warm boy this winter!
I'm coming, Maggie!
You see, Maggie doesn't like the stairs! She never really did but she did go up and down once a day when she slept upstairs with us for many years but now that she's getting older, she prefers not to make the trip up and down any longer and she's perfectly happy sleeping on first floor.

We go out for peepees at 9PM and we kiss Maggie goodnight and she sleeps downstairs next to her radiator with her stuffie that we call Baby!So Maggie and I each have our own spots that we sleep in at night and in the morning, we're very happy to be together again and we wait for our breakie to be served at 6AM sharp!

So until next time.................

Your friends,
Mitch and Maggie

  4. Yuh, same problem here, Master builds things in his own time. That canopy bed was certainly worth the wait.

We have our own sleepy spots too and momma usually tucks us both in before she goes to bed.

  6. What a beautiful room. We can see why they don't let you sleep on their bed - our peeps don't let us on theirs either. This winter Java has slept on a bed in the middle of our living room floor - and he takes up a lot of room!!

The lavender title in your picture looks great.

  14. What a pretty bedroom! We sleep on different floors, too. The little girls sleep in their crates downstairs and Tsar chooses to sleep near the front door. I don't know if he's guarding us or waiting to make his escape. The rest of us sleep in Mom and Dad's room but only Samba and Morgan sleep on the bed.

  40. Hey, nice and cosy bedroom you've got there. You have chosen the best spot next to the heater! Do they use the open fire place as well?
We sleep in our pinkies' room, too. Well, most nights. When we have friends over it gets a bit crowded so beds are all over the place and we simply choose which one will do for the night. First in, best dressed.
Maggie looks comfy too. We know, stairs can be a trouble...

  41. Well. FIRST! That gorgeous canopy bed reminds Moma of the one she grew up in ... and our auntie has it now. Sooooo lovely! Who made the canopy? The lace is beautiful. Just like the quilt.

Second. That radiator would come in really really handy right now. Upstairs or down. Moma groomed out all our furs today. Brrrrr.

Third. We love our house. And your stencils. And YOU!

  51. Nice digs! Is that a working fireplace? Love the big ole 4 poster bed with the lacy thingy on top. I have a 4 poster but no top gizmo. SHE said it would interfere with the overhead fan and being cool is better than being hot when you live in Floriduh. If we lived there Puffy and I both would have to sleep downstairs. Our leggies are too short. When we go to our Sissies house or Gramma's house, they have stairs and we can manage about 1 trip up or down a day and Puffy can't do that at all anymore. It rubs the furs off our bellies, so we have to hop up, stop, hop up and stop on each step.
