Wheelie Wednesday - The First of June

Hi everyone - it's me, Francesca!

It's June and the garden is in full bloom!  There is color everywhere!  These short hotpink flowers are Sweet William and boy do they ever smell pretty!
One of my favorite flowers is the peony and this double pink one has the biggest flowers!
Remember last month our Cook's Purple Wisteria flowers got ruined because of the frost?   This wisteria is a later blooming one and it didn't suffer at all!  It has magnificent purple flowers that look like bunches of grapes!  The bees are regular visitors and it smells wonderful too!
There are lupines in the garden in front of dad's workshop.   Mom loves these pale pink ones and wishes they were in the garden in front of the hedges right behind our house! She'll save seedheads and sprinkle them in the autumn and hope they germinate next spring.
The red poppy is blooming!  We are psyched!  What a brilliant color!
You all know about Mitch's give-away, right?   We are getting so many comments that Mitch and mom have decided to pick two leather collar winners!    Mitch gave me the okay to choose a number from one to 100 and I've written it in my nifty pad right here!
Good luck doggies!

Mitch will all let you know on Friday who the lucky winners are!

See you all next Wednesday!

Friends forever,
Francesca

  1. Francesca, you are such a great tour guide! All of your flowers are sooooo pretty! Our mom's grandma used to grow a whole garden full of poppies, but our mom has never tried it. Maybe someday!

  5. Hi Francesca, the garden is looking great. We just love peonies too but don't have any in our garden.
We must plant some. The Wisteria is very pretty - our mum thinks we have wisteria but our dad insists it isn't so will be showing him your pics!

  9. Francesca! Guess what? Yesterday, me and mom and Brudder Ranger were out for a walk and I was minding my own business when I saw one of those peony flowers just laying out in the middle of the sidewalk! Well! I had NO idea what it was and I was all, "WHOA! WHAT THE HECK?" So I had to creeeeep up on it real slow-like and take a sniff. Then I was all, "Oh, it's just a flower. Move along. Nothing to see here."

Um, so anyway, your flowers are real pretty and I'm glad that you shared them all with us!

We also love the peonie bushes, they are running alittle behind at my house with the blooming but I think by the end of the week the will be in full bloom. My roses are blooming like crazy. My climbing rose bush must have 75 red roses on it right now. Thank You for the Garden Tour. Very beautiful.

  19. All your flowers are so beautiful, Francesca. The wisteria are awesome. And Mom just loves the double peonies. All the ones in our area seem to have had very short lives this year, too much rain and wind.

Great news about the collars - they really are beautiful.

  24. I love all the flowers. Let's face it, I just love flowers! But, those pink peonies remind me of a bush my mom planted by the mailbox when I was a short one, so they have to be my favorite. Beautiful!

  25. Honey, I want to tell you endlessly that your family has such a beautiful garden to be proud of! Those colors tell so much effort and love behind. The wisteria is so charming especially after knowing that bees like them a lot. Wow!

Bless the hands that took care of them.

  26. Moma loves peonies. They always remind of her of Memorial Day at her gramma's house. She kept them in the old fridge to keep them nice until the family could take them to decorate graves at the cemeteries. They smelled so good. And the ants crawled all over them. Such good memories. To hold forever. (Thanks for promoting them.)

    Love
    Fergi and Jake
