Never Forget

We will never forget the attacks on our nation 9 years ago today!
We remember and we say prayers for all of the lives that were lost needlessly!
We owe so much to our soldiers that protect us day in and day out. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  May God bless you all!

Mom and dad are at Steve's barn raising today and Mitch and I are keeping an eye on things here!
Dad will be stopping his barn raising speech at 8:46 AM and observing a moment of silence in respect for all of the lives lost on 9-11.

We got to taste mom's tuna salad before it got made into sandwiches that will be one of the items on today's menu.
And I got to sample the apple pie bars!  That piece that's missing is my doing!
Mom also made German potato salad and we got to sample the bacon!  yummmmmm

The zucchini bread and the carrot pecan bread were a hit the first time around so mom made more.  She also made banana bread and sweet potato bread for Sunday.
Our paws are crossed that she remembers this time to bring us each a doggie bag!  We hear there's lots of good stuffed being served up there today and tomorrow!
So until next time..................
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

  3. I don't think any of us will ever forget! And we will definitely remember where we were when we first heard the news!

OMD, you have so many yummy stuffs to look forward to. (Assuming you each get a doggie bag!) BTW, our mom says, "Thanks a lot!" It's only 6 o'clock in the morning and now, she's hungry! Hahahahaha!

    Have a really great weekend!

  4. We think your dad's idea of stopping work for a moment of silence is beautiful - pausing in the creation of a thing of beauty and utility to honor those who died in the horror and the aftermath is wornderful.

  18. My mom person has been feeling the sads all day. It seems fitting that it's grey and rainy here today. The heavens are crying for those lost.

How wonderful for your dad to stop for a moment of silence. My people went to a special breakfast at the firestation today.

I'm glad you got to sample some of the foodables, you don't want to send stuff that isn't up to snuff!

  19. This day has also released in Germany a big shock. He will be never forgotten. The world has become narrower and smaller. Everything is quite close.

Personally we wanted to celebrate to this day the 50th birthday. We waited for our guests and have switched on by chance CNN. It was shortly after beginning of the Life a reporting. From this time we sat in bewilderment and shocks before the TV. It lasted long, until we understood which is this reality.

    Lots of love

  27. We were never forget that day... I was in class with mum at her University when it happened. Afterwards, most students skipped class and just huddled around whichever television they could find...

On a lighter note, your mom needs to have her own cook book!!
