Wheelie Wednesday - Finished Trunk

Hi everyone. It's me, Francesca!Remember the trunk that dad just brought back from Maine for mom?Mom has been working on it all week long and it's now sitting in our family room all finished! All of that sanding and oiling has made the wood come alive! Dad took the fancy Victorian hinges up to his buddy Dan's shop and the boys sandblasted them for mom and now they look like pewter.Mom even cleaned and sanded and oiled the tills inside the chest. What are we going to store inside here, mom?

I found the perfect Aire-dish for the top! Mom made the tiger maple dish in 2003!Mom loves her new trunk! Thanks again for the wonderful gift, dad!

Before we leave, we want to post a picture of our Lenten Rose for Clive. We told him that ours was more of a pinkish. His is more purple. So this is for you, Clive.

See you all next Wednesday.

Friends forever,

Francesca

Baby Mitchie

Hi everyone! It's me, Mitch!

One of the comments on my gotcha day posting was from Oskar. He called me Baby Mitchie! Well, I guess I was a baby at 4 months old, huh?!Mom has this evil idea to post my baby Mitchie picture with a pink baby bonnet on my head! And then she remember reading on both McGillicutty's blog and Keeley's blog about the "That was then - this is now" stuff!

Okay - who thinks this is funny?!I certainly don't! I'm not a baby anymore, mom!

Our prayer flags are flying high for you, Jackson!
We continue to send you lots of AireZen and our paws are tightly crossed!
We love you, buddy!
So until next time...............

Love ya lots,

Tagged Again and Important Info

We got tagged by the Rocky Creek Scotties to open our first photo folder, scroll down to the 10th photo, post that photo and tell the story behind it, then tag 5 more bloggers.

We've already done this tag and we thought it might be fun if we reversed it and go to the tenth folder and post the first photo in that folder!

This is the dollhouse that gram and gramp built and now mom has it! The dollhouse is decked out for Christmas with wreaths and Christmas trees!
And we thought it might be fun to go one more step and post the tenth picture in this same folder!
This is the kitchen - mom's very favorite room in the entire dollhouse! We're not going to tag anyone but if you want to reverse the original tag and play along, please do. It's fun!

We just read some rather disturbing news on one of our Yahoo Airedale groups. We wanted to pass the information along to keep all of you safe!

*Permission to crosspost this message*

Last night at agility class, a vet, who is a fellow agility student was
telling us about a case she had this week. The dog ate a child's teddy bear
and was very sick. When she opened the dog up to remove what she thought was
an intestinal obstruction she found a huge gelatin type mess inside and the
dogs intestines were black and the tissue dead. The dog will die - no surgery
can fix him up - there was no living intestine left from stomach to colon.

This was not an obstruction..... so she called the manufacturer of the Teddy
Bear on a quest to find out what the gel was and what killed the dog. Turns
out the stuffing in children's toys contains ingredients for flame
retardants and mite control! It is designed to be come a gel. It is highly
toxic. Now you would think a child's toy would be safe because it is for
children, but they don't expect a child to eat the stuffing of the toys...
huummmm that seems a bit scary too. But we all know dogs demolish stuffed
toys.

So do not give or buy your dog any children's stuffed animals... some people
get them at goodwill etc. The vet will be posting a warning and story and I
will send any other facts as needed and as I learn more. Maybe some
children's toys do not have this ingredient, but better to be safe then
sorry. So meanwhile, make sure all your dog toys are for dogs. Please pass
this on... it is a horrible death she described and one that can be avoided.

So please, please, please - Keep the hooman stuffies away from us doggies!

So until next time...............

Wheelie Wednesday - Dad's Back From Maine

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
Dad is back from Maine and he came home bearing many gifts for mom! Mom wasn't expecting anything so this was a nice surprise!
There's a place that dad and his buddies go to every year called Liberty Tool and they all seem to love it there. One year, dad brought mom home two t-shirts and she's worn them until they have holes in the armpits. She just loves them!
Mom now has four new t-shirts from Liberty Tool!
One of them has hummingbirds on both the front and the back of the shirt and another one has Lupines growing across the front of it! Mom just LOVES Lupines! This one is all wildflowers! And this one is Dogwood blossoms and bumblebees and apples! Dad must have been missing you, Mitch! This t-shirt is actually a darker yellow and it's being modeled by the lovely Miss Maggie! It has gorgeous colorful tulips on it!Dad also brought back a bronze Airedale door stop! How perfect is this?!He also brought mom back a project. It's an antique trunk and it needs to be sanded and cleaned up and then oiled to bring out the beauty of the wood! Mom has already gotten started on it so we'll have to show it to you when she's all finished! We're sure glad to have our dad back home with us! We missed him!
Thank you so much for all of the wonderful Maine gifts, dad!

See you all next Wednesday!

Love,
Autumn

Bloc de Foie Gras de Canard

Dad has been in Maine for the last few days and mom has been eating the craziest dindins as usual when he's gone!
One night she decided to have Sally's very generous gift to us - bloc de foie gras de canard! We have never had this before but a lot of you told us that it was like a liver pate and seeing as mom loves Liverwurst ( yes, she and gram are both weird like that) she knew that she would love it!
And guess what? We loved it too!Mitch has never gotten to snag food out of mom's mouth before but she let him give it a whirl! You did great, Mitch! Nice reward, huh?!
Mom gave Mitch a second chance at it. The first time it was celery and the second time, it was toast!Dindin was great, Sally! Thank you very, very much!

And for dessert~ Mitch's favorite!
Thanks for the apple slices, mom!
Before we go, we have to tell you about an awesome video we saw at Bug and Bandit's blog. You might want to grab a tissue first!

So until next time...........

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

The Bestest News Ever

You all know that Sunshade's mom has helped my mom TREMENDOUSLY with this kidney disease stuff, right?
Elaine has been there every step of the way and has pointed mom in the right direction on all counts! I couldn't ask for tastier dindins! I am the best fed girl in the whole wide world!

This past Wednesday, we kissed Mitch good-by and told him we'd be back shortly. My vet is only 1 mile down the road and I needed to have my blood and peepee tested to see how we're doing with this kidney disease stuff.
About an hour later, I got a wonderful welcome home kiss from Mitch! I think he missed me!See the fancy bandage on my leggie? I was so excited/frantic about my blood test that I wouldn't stop bleeding so Lisa, the vet tech, wrapped my leg!
Before we left the office, mom asked my doctor if he had any fancy treats for kidney girls like me and he sent me home with a big bag of them!Yesterday we got a phone call from my vet's office and guess what? I'm am no longer in stage 3 kidney disease! I'm now in stage 1, which is the best news ever, because it means that I'm getting better and better! We have been doing a lot of happy dancing here and mom is still having a hard time wiping the smile off her face as she's cooking me up more chicken thighs and taking the baked spaghetti squash out of the oven! We are just THRILLED that I'm better and it's all thanks to Elaine and all of the good food and good supplements that she recommended and that mom has been giving me for the past 3 months! Thank you so much, Elaine! We could have never done this without you! We are eternally grateful!

This calls for celebration, don't you think?
Break out the wild berry sherbet, mom!Maybe this summer when we head to Durham for ice cream, I can have a taste too? Pretty please, mom?
But for now, I stay on the best breakies and dindins ever and I continue to get more and more healthy!
We are one happy family today! whoooooohooooo

So until next time...............

My 3rd Gotcha Day

Hi everybody! It's me, Mitch!
Yesterday was my 3rd gotcha day with the family!
For those of you who don't know, my hooman sissy, Melissa and my mom were shopping for a mother-of-the-bride dress and at the end of that shopping day they decided to mosey into the pet store and guess who mom locked eyes with? ME!
Mom went home and told dad all about this cute 4 month old pup who she discovered in the pet store that day and the rest is history! Maggie took one look at me and demanded that dad take me back where I came from in a hurry! She wasn't too happy with me at all! She actually refused to be part of our family for a whole week and gave both mom and dad the cold shoulder and made them feel horrible!
But she eventually came around and now we're the best of friends and she loves me!

Maggie gave me a new Nylabone for my special day! She knows how much I love them - how much we both love them!Hey, Jazzi! Look what else I got! A green M&M! But only me - not Maggie!
And mom made made us strawberry sundaes!
Maggie is allowed to have Nilla Wafers and Animal Crackers and that's what the base is. The center is filled with 2 fresh strawberries!
Did you all notice that Maggie got a hAirecut?! You look fab, Maggie! I want to thank my dad and my Uncle Bill for coming to the pet store 3 years ago and bringing me to my new forever home! I love it here and I plan on staying for a good long time!

So until next time................

Wheelie Wednesday - Decisions, Decisions

Hi everyone! Francesca and I are sharing this post today!
You've all heard about Scruffs - the event for wheelies that Miss Enid is hosting and Eric Square Dog is judging, right? Our pictures were submitted a couple of weeks ago but we've got to tell you that it was one tough decision deciding on what we should be wearing and which poses would be best and seeing as we are both girls, it was doubly tough!

We thought about having tea together but Eric wants us to do something daring and drinking tea certainly isn't daring unless it's spiked with something fun!
And besides, who has tea dressed up in winter attire? So this photo was not suitable! And then we decided to do something springy and flowery and again - the winter duds! Nope!So we changed into our spring hats and bandanas and decided to ask this pretty dolly if she'd take us for a walkie but she didn't want to get her pretty white dress and white shoes all dirty! Stayed tuned to Miss Enid and Eric's blog and you'll see which photos Francesca and I decided on! You won't believe our daring stunt!

See you all next Wednesday!

Friends Forever,
Autumn and Francesca
