You all know that Sunshade's mom has helped my mom TREMENDOUSLY with this kidney disease stuff, right?
Elaine has been there every step of the way and has pointed mom in the right direction on all counts! I couldn't ask for tastier dindins! I am the best fed girl in the whole wide world!
This past Wednesday, we kissed Mitch good-by and told him we'd be back shortly. My vet is only 1 mile down the road and I needed to have my blood and peepee tested to see how we're doing with this kidney disease stuff.
About an hour later, I got a wonderful welcome home kiss from Mitch! I think he missed me!
See the fancy bandage on my leggie? I was so excited/frantic about my blood test that I wouldn't stop bleeding so Lisa, the vet tech, wrapped my leg!
Before we left the office, mom asked my doctor if he had any fancy treats for kidney girls like me and he sent me home with a big bag of them!
Yesterday we got a phone call from my vet's office and guess what? I'm am no longer in stage 3 kidney disease! I'm now in stage 1, which is the best news ever, because it means that I'm getting better and better! We have been doing a lot of happy dancing here and mom is still having a hard time wiping the smile off her face as she's cooking me up more chicken thighs and taking the baked spaghetti squash out of the oven! We are just THRILLED that I'm better and it's all thanks to Elaine and all of the good food and good supplements that she recommended and that mom has been giving me for the past 3 months! Thank you so much, Elaine! We could have never done this without you! We are eternally grateful!
This calls for celebration, don't you think?
Break out the wild berry sherbet, mom!
Maybe this summer when we head to Durham for ice cream, I can have a taste too? Pretty please, mom?
But for now, I stay on the best breakies and dindins ever and I continue to get more and more healthy!
We are one happy family today! whoooooohooooo
So until next time...............
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
