You handcuffed my legs together, mom!The grass looks chartreuse around this yellow dandelion! These are dad's delivery confirmation tickets for mailing out boxes from our post office!Next week's color is coffee!

Wheelie Wednesday - Back to the Garden

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn! We've had rainy dreary weather for the past few days but his Lady's Mantle sure does look happy! Mom and I love how the raindrops bead up on her leaves! This is a euphorbia. A clump of it was given to mom a long time ago and its been spreading all by itself. It bleeds a milky white sap if you break the stem. The bleeding heart is in bloom and so is the ajuga!
Mom cartoonized me and the ajuga! I'm thinking she's way past any kind of help at this point! The sweet woodruff is in bloom. They use this plant in the making of May wine!We took a trip up to the second floor of our house and hung out the window to get this next shot. Pay no attention to the round brown spots in the lawn! We know how those got there, don't we *wink wink*
Pretty soon the whole garden will be alive with flowers! I can't wait!

See you all next Wednesday!

Love,
Autumn

Uncle Bill's Chief

Hi guys! It's me, Mitch!
Guess where I went last night?
I went with dad and my Uncle Bill to buy an Indian Chief! This Indian Chief is for Uncle Bill, not my dad (mom was breathing a sigh of relief)!
Uncle Bill is very special to me. He's my friend that came to the pet store with dad the day I was rescued at 4-months old. He knew that I was coming to live with Maggie before mom did!His new Chief is loaded onto the trailer and it's on its way to my house! Dad and Uncle Bill will trailer it down to the motor vehicle department to make it legal soon.Awesome bike! We give it a high five! Thanks for the cookies, dad!
You can see four of dad's Indian jackets hanging on the wall behind him. We're down in the motorcycle shop. This is one of dad's Chiefs! This is another one of them inside the shop. Notice that it doesn't have a seat.
Dad loves these old-fashioned spring seats and he's in the process of installing this one on the bike in the previous picture.Have you noticed that we've been cartoonizing our last two blog header pictures?
Mom has discovered be funky and she can't seem to stop cartoonizing our pictures!
I'm blowin' back your ear, Maggie!Mom also discovered that our Kodak Easy Share program cartoonizes too!
OMG, we have a problem mom on our hands!

So until next time................

Love ya lots,
Mitch

Mom said that I have been doing so well on my kidney diet that a tiny bit of ice cream wasn't going to kill me so I got to have vanilla ice cream! It sure was yummy! We even got to lick mom's cup clean! When do you get to go again, mom?
That was sure fun!

This is our primrose yellow buttercup winter hazel! It's more delicate than the "other" witch hazel. These are double daffodils!
And primrose yellow tulips~
We just love our witch hazel! It symbolizes that spring is on the way after a long winter! Thanks for letting me borrow your gardening hat, mom!Next week's color is chartreuse!

Wheelie Wednesday - The Felted TeaCup

Hi everybody! It's me, Francesca!
I've got to show you mom's latest project.
It's a wool felted tea cup! Isn't it just the coolest?
We can't put real tea in it because it would leak all over the place so we decided to use it to display silk flowers - purple ones - my very favorite color! This is the pattern if anyone would like to have it. It's free!
And you can also find it here! It looks like Maggie and Mitch are here for tea! Wait till I tell them that I'm serving flowers and not scones!
See you all next Wednesday!

Friends forever,
Francesca

The Tour of Barns Day

The timber frame students were here bright and early at 8:30 AM and dad did his usual VERY lengthy talk(can't you talk any faster, dad) and by 1PM after the class had their lunchie, they were off on the tour! We couldn't wait to go out to the barn and see what all they left us!

Thank you, thank you! You made sure we didn't starve to death! Bless you!How we love donuts!
We're not fussy - we like ALL donuts! My turn - my turn!A 3-foot long sandwich that started off being 6 foot! Gosh, were they on diets?
Who cares! More for us!Cookies?
Mom says one kind is chocolate cookie with mint chocolate chips and the others are oatmeal cookies with RAISINS!
Shoot - no cookies for us!

That's okay - there are plenty more donuts, mom!Can you tel that this is one of the happiest days of my entire life?
The tour of barns day is one of the best days of the entire year!We can't wait till next year!

So until next time...............

Love ya lots,

Pepe's for Lunch

This is the weekend that dad teaches timber frame class to new students in Manchester, CT, and we hear that a lot of the new students are women! COOL!
So Friday night mom and dad and Uncle Frank and Uncle Bill went down to New Haven to have pizza at Pepe's!
No, we weren't invited but guess what we had for lunch?Mom told us that dad ordered 3 pizzas for 4 hoomans! How can 4 hoomans eat 3 whole pizzas?
Guess how many pieces of pizza they came home with?
TWO!
Are these piggie hoomans, or what?!
The pieces they brought home were both shrimp, bacon and spinach with lots of garlic!

Pizza is NOT on my kidney diet list of acceptable foods but mom sorta bent the rules and Mitch and I both got a piece of bacon! And mom shared a crust with Mitch and I got another small piece of bacon!
Mom missed the shot because as I said, it was a small piece!
It's down the hatch already! We need to make sure there are no crumbs left before mom tosses the box!Monday is dad's tour of barns day, which means DUNKIN DONUTS!
Mitch and I have our paws crossed that these women are all on diets and leave us LOTS of delicious donuts!
We'll let you know!

So until next time................

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

Chicken Adobo

Mom made a new recipe for dindin recently. It's called Chicken Adobo! This is the recipe:

  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breasts, halved
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 onion, chopped fine
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • salt, to taste

Combine soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, and broth. Boil until reduced by half.

In large skillet, heat oil and saute chicken pieces until well browned. Remove from pan.

In same skillet, cook garlic, onion, and bay leaf until onion is softened. Add broth, chicken with their juices and simmer, turning the chicken until chicken is cooked through.

Place chicken on plates, stir butter into sauce and cook until slightly thickened. Discard bay leaf, season with salt and pepper and pour over chicken. Serve.

The chicken broth sauce has been made and the chicken has been browned and we're cooking up our onions and garlic mixture. It smells so good!

While the onions were limping, mom made salad. Both of us love lettuce!

Dindin is done only we don't get any of it because mom says there are just too many onions involved but we did to have a tomato wedge and a crouton!

We'll take it! It's better than nothing, right?!

So until next time...............

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
