Slipping On Ice

You'll never guess what my brilliant mom did?
She washed and waxed the floor in the hallway!
Duh! What was she thinking?
Didn't you know that I'd go slippin' and sliding and need assistance righting myself again?

So mom decided to head to overstock.com and  check out hallway rugs.
This one is 14' long and works out very well.
She had to offer me many cookies to get me to enter the hallway again after my stressful spill!

You should have come up with the hockey helmet plan BEFORE the rug, mom!  It would have come in handy!
Copycat Mitch wants to be a hockey pro too!  The slippery floors didn't bother him one bit.

I'm likin' the new rug, mom!  I think it'll do!

Yup, I'm getting more comfy and trusting now!
It has my vote!  I'm staying!
Please don't wax any more floors in the house ever again. It's too hard for this girl to stay on her dainty Airefeets!

So until next time.................

Love ya lots,
Maggie

  1. Maggie, our Angel Java Bean had that same problem. But Mom learned something after he passed away that might help you out. He had a lot of hair between his foot pads and she read that if that was clipped out it would make a dog more stable. We don't know if this is your case or not, but it's worth a try. The rug looks super there though!!

  7. Wow! That was very nice of your mom to put a rug there! Our mom waxes our wooden kitchen floor. It used to be funny to watch us fly around the corner...until Penny got to be almost 12 years old. Not so funny anymore! I, Patches, still run like a maniac, but Penny doesn't do it so much anymore. BTW, we looooove the helmet idea!

  8. Miss Maggie..we truly like the runner rug...we have a couple and we find that they make great tug toys, also, if you run really fast and then STOP, the rug is magic and will keep moving you along. Gussie is better at this than I, so perhaps you want to let Mitch try it first.

  12. Gotta be careful with those long legs... I must retrain Halle to go down the new stairs into the yard but must wait until the ice at the bottom of those new stairs is dealt with, or if we get new snow. Way too slippery for the old girl right now. We are still going outside via the garage door. All looks very nice in your hallway! xo

  13. My sweet Bentley wouldn't walk in the kitchen or on any floors that he thought might be slippery. This pack doesn't care. They race around and slip and slide and that's part of the fun.

  16. Sasha has the same problem. Why do those Moms do that stuff??? Sasha took some scary spills, now if there isn't a rug she sneaks across the kitchen floor. Making the corner is specially tricky. That helmet looks like a good idea.
    The rug looks VERY nice.

  21. Your rug is beautiful!! We also love the look with the hockey helmet..that is cute!! We are glad mom came up with a beautiful rug for you so you won't go flying down the hall. That's not very much fun..it happened to me once in the kitchen after mom cleaned the floors really good. I crash landed into a cabinet. Lots of love, Holly and mom

  28. Hi Maggie, your new runner looks great. Your helmet might be useful but you look way better without it. Thank goodness for the carpet or else your mom would have had to get rubber booties like mine.

  29. I know what you mean, Maggie. Slippery floors are very skeery. It was very much smart of your mom to gets you that rug. I would have to say that rugs are MUCH better than having to wear a helmet, for sure.

  36. We don't have a slippery floor like that, but when we come racing in from being outside, we have to make a turn to head to the kitchen. Sometimes we get going so fast that we do a full body slide across the floor and slam into the gate or the wall:( We never seem to hear those words from the Momster "slowly, slowly". Maybe we need a nice runner like yours.
