Wheelie Wednesday - the Entrelac Clutch

Hi everyone.  It's me, Autumn!
Mom has a new project going. She's knitting a handbag!
She's done entrelac before but it's been awhile.    It's tricky getting started but once you get going on it, it's really fun.
The directions sound confusing but if you follow them step-by-step, it's easy and you'll surprise yourself how simple it really is.
The wool that she is using is called Noro Kureyon.  It natually stripes itself as she knits, which makes it easy peasy.  This is 2 completed rows.
This is how the pattern reads if anyone thinks they might want to give it a try.  It's really fun and it's pretty as the finished piece grows longer.
Mom finished this handbag a few years ago.  It's knit with the Noro wool too but a different color combo. When the handbag that she is working on is finished, it gets tossed in the washing machine and the wool felts and this is how it turns out.

You're supposed to be a happy model, Maggie. Let's see that smile, girlfren!
We'll post again when mom is further along so you can see how her entrelac purse is coming along.

See you all next Wednesday.

Love,
Autumn

  4. That's really cool...yarn that makes the pattern automatically! Too bad our mom has forgotten how to knit. She hasn't even needle felted since our dad passed away. She hopes to do it again, someday, but she just can't right now!

We just loooove your mom's purse and we can't wait to see the new one!

  7. Wow, your mom is so creative and patient, and good at following through on projects (unlike my mom!) How interesting that the material felts in the wash like that.

  9. Hey Autumn,
That is a super cool purse. Your momma is furry talented despite that she keeps saying it's easy peasy. How long will it take? Our snow is ice once again too. This winter is a ruff one. Maybe that's why maggie is a bit grumpy. hee hee.

  17. Your Mom is so lucky that she can knit - Mom has never been able to master it and so wishes she could. She saw a beautiful baby sweater set yesterday. That bag is really nice, interesting how the color pattern develops.

    Thanks for sharing, Autumn.
