Lots Of Homework

Hi everybody. It's me, Mitch!
Class on Wednesday went okay. Mom said that I did pretty good for my first ever obedience class.
An hour was a long time to hold my attention ya know, mom!  There were other pups there to meet and possibly play with but mom said that wasn't the way that school worked - not this week anyway!

My teacher, Miss Kathy, likes to send us home with TONS of homework!
One of the things that I'm going to learn is to "leave" treats and not touch them until mom says "okay"!
Are they serious?
As soon as I become less interested in mom's hand that's full of treats, I get treated.

 I can do that!
Keep those treats coming mom.  Just don't expect me to wait too long, okay?
William and Kate aren't the only ones who had a spa day and got to look their best!
I did too!   I'm all set for the warmer weather now!

Mom says we have to do homework every chance we get.  She says that practice, practice, practice makes perfect! Sure mom!
I'm looking atcha, mom!  Honest, I'm paying attention!
Can I go play now?
This homework stuff is very tiring.  I think I need a nap!
So until next time................

Yer friend,
Mitchy Boy

  10. Hi Mitch, it's okay. You're doing really well. I still go to class from time to time to observe but my brothers and sister go to agility classes. Agility classes are really OB classes with "field equipment" involved like tunnels, hoops, jumps and that sort of thing. It's fun and you get food and rubs and pats when you do well. Besides it's a good opportunity to take the humans out for a run too.

  12. Nice work, Mitch! Mom likes to torture me by placing treats in front of me and then waiting for ages before giving me permission to take it..

  13. Believe it or not, leave it is one of Sissy's best commands. Down is what eludes her.

  14. Are you the "Teacher's Pet"? Being that smart and all I bet you are....

  15. If practice involves treats, Mitch, then just go for it, the more the better. We know that leave it command, but it is so hard when there is a tasty treat just waiting to jump into our mouths.

  18. I hated all that homework stuff but it works out well in the end cause then you get to have lots of fun times.

I found out that when I was good, I was able to go more places with Vickie and play with more kids and see more things and run without the silly leash.

Anyway, keep up the homework. Its worth it.

  25. Phooey! I have to do that dumb leave it stuff too. What the heck? Just hand over the cookie, I say. Sometimes you can muzzle butt mom's hand hard enough to make the cookie fly out! Score!

I know you will be a wonderful student and do your homework.

  26. Hi friends,

Oh no Mitch, it's almost summer and you gotta go to school. We are sure you are going to me a great student.

We miss you all so much and hope we can start visiting more but Mommy still isn't her usual self.

  28. You look SO good (and nekkid) after the spa treatment! OH yeah, that command is hard to learn but you Airedales are intelligent dogs so you will get the hang of it pretty fast. And yes, practice makes it perfect! Keep it up.

  29. O that sure is tough! I really feel for you!

  31. My husband and I had SO MUCH FUN taking Sawyer to obedience classes. We loved it so much that we took a second one even though we could have just continued the lessons at home. Sawyer enjoyed meeting tons of new puppy friends too. Have fun Mitch!

  34. Hi Mitch, so glad to hear that your first OB class went well and I bet you're already your teacher's pet now!
The humans are so mean that they always put the treats in front of us and play the 'leave it' game with us. I always drool seriously and you can see there is a puddle of my slobber whenever they play 'leave it' on me. Sigh!!! But I can assure you that I'm pretty good at it, well, anyway, you get the treats at last, right?

  35. Oh no...is it the start of sit and wait b4 meals as well? Humans love to torture us canines this way ;-(

  36. You and Norma Jean have the same ideas about school. It's too long, there's too much homework and not enough play, and it 's very tiring.
