Our Dad

Remember a couple of months ago when we posted about picking our dad up at the hospital?  We were so happy to have him home with us!

Our dad has still not recovered from that stay and he is not even close to being 100% - he's actually very far from it.    To make a long story much shorter,  he has fluid retention and it's not going away.  He's had test after test after test and the tests are still ongoing.  One of his immunosuppressant drugs is thought to be the cause.  Dad has been off this drug for 6 weeks already but the effects of it in his system are long-lasting - like MONTHS!

His body is also not absorbing protein and this is a huge concern to everyone, most of all to mom and dad who have been trying so very hard to right this wrong and the doctors are working very hard to discover the cause.

Our dad is once again in the hospital and he is not coming home until answers are found so that he can be back on his road to recovery.    Could you all please keep our dad in your thoughts and prayers?  We know just how incredibly powerful the Power of the Paw is!

We sure do miss our dad.
Thank you so much, guys.

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

  6. I will be keeping all four paws crossed for your dad and he will be in our prayers every night. It is no fun being without your dad (or Mom) and I know how you feel. I hope they find out how to fix the problem and make sure you give your Mom lots of hugs too - she must be so worried. We know you will be needing time to spend with your Mom and your Mom with your Dad, but please keep us informed - we worry so much about all our big bloggie family.

  62. Hi, Maggie and Mitch -

We are so sorry to read that your Dad is in the hospital. Grammy fell last week and has a hairline fracture of the hip. She was just released from the hospital on Monday and is at a rehab facility where she has to get physical therapy until she is well enough to go home.

Kaci is with some friends of Grammy's. They will be able to take her to the rehab facility to visit with Grammy.

We will keep your Mom and Dad in our thoughts and prayers. We hope your Dad does not have to be in the hospital too long and that he has a speedy recovery.

    Love -

    Hershey and Kaci
