Our Friend Emmitt

Our dear sweet friend,  Emmitt, has passed and we are so sad.    Emmitt was 14.5 years old.
He was famous for making his mini meatloaves at his birthday pawties and we will always think of you and smile whenever we eat meatloaf, Emmitt!
His mom, Melissa, is a sensational artist who can do anything she puts her mind to.  She is an amazingly talented person - loving, giving and generous - just as Emmitt was.

We just love you in your autumn outfit, Emmitt!  This is one of our very favorite pictures of you.

We are going to miss you so much, Emmitt.  You were an inspiration to all of us!

Our hearts are breaking for Melissa and for Emmitt's dad, Fred.
Please stop by Emmitt's blog and leave them a few words of comfort. We know they would appreciate it.

We love you, Emmitt, and we will never forget you!

Happy 38th to our Mom and Dad

Our mom and dad were married in 1973. They were both still teenagers!

The photo on the bottom is one of mom's favorites. She's never really liked champagne - can you tell?! haha
Dad is on your left and his brother, Uncle Jon, is on the right.
We really should have a caption contest for this photo. We'd get some real lulu suggestions!

The two photos on the top are mom and dad all dressed up for our sissy's wedding in 2007.  That was sure a fun day!

Happy Anniversary, mom and dad!  We hope you decide on the Glenwood tonight for burgers and ice cream so that we can come along too!

Today is also our friend, Fabrizio's very first birthday!

Happy birthday, Fabrizio!    You are one cool dude!

Half Groomies

Mom said that my fur has been getting way too long and she has been racking her brain trying to decide how best to give me a hAirecut.

I can't climb the stairs - my legs just won't let me anymore and that's where the grooming room is and my dad is feeling better since his hospital stay but he's not 100% yet and his back has been bothering him so dad can't possibly carry me up and down the stairs and mom tried it once and it wasn't the smartest thing that she ever did so that's out.

She decided that today we would put down my grooming rugs on the laundry room floor and she would groom only my head and tomorrow would be my body and we'd do my legs after that.

I don't look so bad, right?
I can stay this way, right, mom?
Why do you have that horrified look on your face, Mitch?   I think I look A-ok!

She says that I can't stay this way!  Bummer!

No one is laughing at me half groomed, right?

So until next time.................

What Was She Thinking

 Hi everyone.  It's me, MitchyBoy!
Mom gave me a hairecut this past Saturday because the temps were supposed to be a bit more mild.
They sure weren't yesterday morning!    brrrrrrrrrr
I need my warm furs back!

Get a move on, mom - I need to get home and thaw my ears out!
Look what I found!   Someone wasn't happy when they discovered their other glove was missing~~
Poor Dauby and Grampa!  This has been a tough winter on them.   They haven't been out of the pond in ages!  They can't get out of the water! There's too much snow and ice!

There's not a speck of grass in sight for them to eat.  Thank goodness they have mom and dad to feed them twice a day.  They must be SO ready for spring - just like we are!
So until next time..............

Yer friend,
Mitch

Dad's On His Way Home

Mom told us that we could go with her to pick up dad!
That's New Haven,  Mitch!  It looks so different from where we live!
We have so many farms around us and no tall buildings.
This is the hospital where our dad has been.
Do you seen him, Mitch?  He should be right there waiting for us!

Sorry this picture is a little bit blurry but we were kinda excited about seeing our dad and thrilled to know that he was coming home with us!
We are so very happy that you are home, dad!   Our pack is as it should be once again!  Please stay healthy forever!

So until next time.................

A Fun Pressie

We got a pressie in the mail and it sure did lift our spirits!

Remember commenting on Kylie's 25 days of Christmas?
We were one of the winners and a blankie was donated to New England Airedale Rescue in our name.    How special is this!
This wonderful event was sponsored by Kylie, along with Addie, Lucie and Hailey and also Preston and Tank

What else is in the bag, Mitch?
Oh my!  We have never had these before!  Hurry up and cut the top off of the package, mom!
The package also contained a squeakie tennis ball and 3 Perfect World Pets

The blue camel is Peace - Peace to the world - Peace to the pets - Peace to the people that help the pets~~

The yellow giraffe is Faith - Faith is why I am loyal - Faith is why I follow you - Faith is why I believe in you - My faith in you is forever~~

The pink elephant is Hope - I hope you will always love me - I hope you know I love you more - I hope you will remember me - I hope you a better tomorrow than today~~

By purchasing a Perfect World Pet you are helping to support the efforts of Pets of the Homeless.

Mom says these are so cute and she is keeping them all for herself!

This was a wonderful thing you guys did and we are thrilled to be a part of it.  Thank you very, very much!

We want to thank all of you so much for your prayers and support and healing vibes for our dad.
Guess what?  He's coming home today!  whooooooooohoooooooooo

We're Very Bummed

Our dad hasn't been feeling well lately and now he's in the hospital.  He is finally pain-free but the doctors still don't know the cause of his problems.   This has been a very stressful time for us.
Today mom decided to break out the ice cream in hopes that we will feel a wee bit better.

Hurry home, dad.  We miss you a WHOLE LOT!

Love,
Maggie and Mitch

Wheelie Wednesday - the Entrelac Clutch

Hi everyone.  It's me, Autumn!
Mom has a new project going. She's knitting a handbag!
She's done entrelac before but it's been awhile.    It's tricky getting started but once you get going on it, it's really fun.
The directions sound confusing but if you follow them step-by-step, it's easy and you'll surprise yourself how simple it really is.
The wool that she is using is called Noro Kureyon.  It natually stripes itself as she knits, which makes it easy peasy.  This is 2 completed rows.
This is how the pattern reads if anyone thinks they might want to give it a try.  It's really fun and it's pretty as the finished piece grows longer.
Mom finished this handbag a few years ago.  It's knit with the Noro wool too but a different color combo. When the handbag that she is working on is finished, it gets tossed in the washing machine and the wool felts and this is how it turns out.

You're supposed to be a happy model, Maggie. Let's see that smile, girlfren!
We'll post again when mom is further along so you can see how her entrelac purse is coming along.

See you all next Wednesday.

Love,
Autumn

Chopping Ice

Mom and I chopped ice yesterday!
This is our patio as we head out our back door.  It's so slick that you take your life in your hands everytime you step off our back porch!
This is our driveway - sheer ice!
Yesterday's temps were mid-40's so out came the chopping shovel .    Mom chopped and then tossed the ice cubes away, but because the snow/ice hills are so high in our yard - up and over to toss the cubes wasn't so easy.
Why would I want an ice snack, mom, I'm standing on it!
I can't remember the last time I felt so cool.  This is Heaven!  Now I know why Khyra loves it so much!
This is what dad and Mitch and Uncle Bill were doing while mom and I were chopping.
The ice was melting and running down the driveway and going inside our barn and yesterday morning we found a huge puddle of water.

Once it freezes we can have a skating pawty inside our barn!   Dad was not amused!
This has surely been SOME winter!
So until next time...............

Love ya lots,
Maggie

Passing the Time

One of Mitch's most favorite toys is this udder tug.  He and mom play tug all the time while she is in the kitchen preparing dindin.
But sometimes mom is too busy and needs to pay attention to what she is cooking so Mitch will take the udder tug and whack me with it to try to get me to play with him and I bite his leg!
And I try to grab the udder tug only it's not so easy to get it away from him.
And sometimes I get mad and I let him know about it!
And he apologizes by nibbling on my neck and then my shoulder area.
You'll see mom and Mitch playing tug.  Mom should never play with Mitch - she should play with ONLY ME and I make sure I tell the world about it!
Check out my sniffing Mitch's ear.  I sniff it all the time and then snort as if to say that "it stinks!"  Do any of you do this?
I also love slamming my paw on his back!  hehehe

So until next time............

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
