Barn Raising This Weekend

Dad and the Northford Timber Framers will be having a barn raising this weekend and guess who will not be going?  Yup, you guessed right!
But we did help mom make Blueberry Buckle that she will be contributing.

Blueberry Buckle
Cream by hand -  1/4 cup of shortening,  3/4 cup sugar,  1 egg.
Add -  1/2 cup of milk.
Sift together and add - 1 1/2 cups flour,  2 teaspoons baking powder,  1/2 teaspoon salt.
Gently turn in -  1 1/2 cups blueberries.
Spread in a greased 9 X 13" pan.
Crumb mixture~
Cream together - 1/4 cup shortening,  1/2 cup sugar,  1/2 teaspoon cinnamon,  1/3 cup flour.
Sprinkle over blueberry batter.

We got to lick the spoon!
And yes, we each got a couple of blueberries too!
The blueberry buckle is ready for the 350 degree oven. It bakes for 25 - 30 minutes.
It smells so yummy!  Can we have a bite please?

So until next time.........

Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
