I'm a Graduate Again

On Wednesday, I graduated basic obedience!
Mom and I had to weave through these purple cones and I had to stay by her side.  I started off on-leash and then we had to do it again with my leash dropped and then again with no leash.   I did great and mom was so pleased!
We had to walk past another hooman and dog (that's my friend Audrey) and I had to try to stay focused on mom.  I did fine and so did Audrey!
And we had to jump through hoops.
And go though the tunnel and it was fun!
I did break away once and I did some playbows and tuckbuttruns  and mom and my instructor, Kathy, didn't find it amusing (deadbeats) and I had to refocus and get back on track.
Kathy awarded me with my diploma and a star stuffie and a HUGE cookie bone that mom kept.  She says it will take me a couple of days to eat this and I won't be hogging it down in one sitting.  Hoomans can be so stingy sometimes!

You'll never guess what I got for a graduation "gift".
Yesterday, I got no breakie and mom took me to my vet to have my big girl surgery.
What kind of a graduation gift is this I ask you?!
I now have a Poodle leg and a shaved belly and a huge incision but I did get to come home and not spend the night at the animal hospital so that's a good thing! When I got home, I spied that evil lampshade cone sitting on the counter.  I sure hope that I can avoid wearing it!  So far - so good!

So until next time...........

Love ya lots,
Molly

  2. Congratulations on your graduation. But don't your parents have any idea of what a graduation present SHOULD BE? Definitely not an operation or a trip to the vets.

We hope the cone isn't necessary...enjoy your little bits of graduation cookie when you finally get them.

  6. Love your graduation picture!! That's such a nice cap and you're sitting so proud.

That's not nice about your sugery but it's all over now and it's for the best. Don't tell Keltic but he'll be going in soon for his surgical too.

  7. Your mom and dad had picked up the weirdest pressie for your graduation, didn't they?

Congratulations on your graduation and you look great with the mortar board hat. The star stuffie is pretty but I think the HUGE cookie bone is the best!

Do remember that you have to take a bit of rest after the girlie thingy and JUMPING is a NO NO. Hope you don't need the Elizabeth Collar either.

  9. Congratulations on your graduation Molly! We can see from the photos that you are a star pupil. Sorry about the operation though. Hope it is not too painful and that your belly doesn't get cold now that it is all shaved.

  21. Wow, we don't want your Mom to give us any presents for anything special we do. That is one really bad graduation gift. You did a great job anyway and we're all proud of you.

  23. Molly,

You are a big girl now! It doesn't seem that long ago you were just a wee pup. Congratulations on graduating (such a cute hat!), and I hope you chew on that bone that you were given at obedience, instead of your stitches. Trust me, wearing a cone is no fun if you haven't worn it before you need it. After my big boys op I had to wear the cone and it freaked me out, I frooze, started drooling, whimpered and was not happy - so now mum's trained me (with lots of treats) to wear it randomly every few months so I don't get bothered by it anymore - I wander around looking like a lampshade happy that I might get treats.

Anyway we hope you are better soon and that you all have a great weekend,
    Love and woofs,
    Riley

  26. Molly, I am so proud and happy for you. But the reward kind of stunk, if you ask me. You got a cookie that you can't have and a sore tummy and you might have to wear the cone of shame. Sheeeesh, your Mommy needs to look up the word reward. Just sayin.

I hope you feel better soon.

  31. Congratulations on your success, Molly. You should be very proud of yourself. Too bad about the vet visit, but you will be doing just fine in no time. Hope you can escape the dreaded cone.

  32. You had a busy few days, Molly. Congratulations on your graduation. You look good in your black hat. I hope you don't have to wear the lampshade, either. Maybe your mum could put two strap t-shirts on you, one from the front and one from the back and pin them together. That's what my mum did for me and it was way more comfortable that I think that lampshade would be.

Yap, I agree, surgery is hardly a nice pressie for all your hard work! Maybe you'll get lots of special treats to compensate for the bad timing ;)

  40. Oh the indignities. We can't believe your mommie made you do that on your birthday. They told us it was for own good. They weren't the ones with the owie on our tummies. Milk this for all it's worth and get lots of treats.

    Lots of licks,

  44. Congratulations, Molly, on your graduation! That looked like a tough - but fun - test and well done for passing with flying colours!

And congrats also on passing through your Big Girl Surgery - hope you're healing well and not having to wear the Cone of Shame! I had to wear that and I hated it! But I was a very naughty girl when I had my Big Girl Surgery - the vet said i had to be quiet for 1 week but I managed to run around like a maniac when no-one was looking and I tore open my stitches! So it was back to the vet to be re-stitched and ANOTHER week of "rest"! Oh no!! :-)

Not sure what your surgery is about but I hope I'm guessing it right.. Gee, that hurts??

Sorry about not coming over as often as I like, but I really enjoy seeing you kids happy and healthy everytime. Am sorry about the friends you've lost along the way...
