Our Morning Walkies

Guess what I found on our walkies this morning?   If you can't tell what it is, it's a cantaloupe and I was able to get the entire thing in my mouth!
Mom told me that I had to leave it. She said to carry it for an entire mile would be too painful for my jaw and I sure couldn't eat the whole thing in the middle of the road.   Don't you think we should give it a whirl and find out, mom?
This is Miss Laura's rock.  It sits on her rock wall right next to her mailbox.
This man has the most gorgeous roses!  He belongs to the Rose Society and his garden is picture perfect always.  We took this shot from a distance away.  Mom said that he definitely wouldn't appreciate 2 hooligans traipsing through his prize roses.
Molly loves to eat grass on our walk. She rips it out and munches on it the entire way.    Mom keeps hoping that she'll give up this nutty behavior one day but Molly has no intention of stopping anytime soon.  Does anyone else have this crazy habit?
Mom didn't want me to be too disappointed that I couldn't carry my cantaloupe home so she surprised us with a treat.
Cantaloupe ☺

This is the latest picture from the barn raising in Maine.  The rafters are up and the siding is being nailed on.  It's looking awesome!

So until next time...........

Love ya lots♥

  2. Howdy Mitch and Molly. You must walk some great areas to find a cantaloupe (is that what we call a Rock Melon?). I, Rory, don't chew grass if I walk but I do nibble on it at home and yesterday even gave mum some back when I spewed on the carpet hahaha. Mum wasn't laughing though!! Take care mates and have a grreat weekend. No worries, and slobber, Rory and Stella

  4. You found a whole cantaloupe!? That's pretty awesome...all I ever find on my walks is other dog's poop that neighbors don't pick up. Ewwww.

I have never tried munching on grass as I go...but it sounds tasty, maybe I'll give it a try next time!

  6. We do think your MOm had your best interests at heart in not letting you carry that canteloupe home. But oh how wonderful that she had some at home just for you! We see a canteloupe sitting on our counter - Mom says it isn't ready yet, but it sure looks ready to us.

  8. The new barn is going to be beautiful!

I thought Monty was a little different for ripping out grass as we walk - I'm glad to find out he isn't the only one!

  10. OMD look at the barn. How spectacular is that? I try and eat grass all the time but as it makes me sick and peeps is forever trying to stop me. I sometimes hide behind trees to munch and she gets cross. Ho hum it is a dog's life.
    Have a super Saturday.
    Best wishes Molly

  12. We're all grazers, though some of us are better at it than others. Fudge likes to graze, but barfs it up later. The girls do pretty well. Cantelope was Bentley's favorite food. He could clean one of those things in no time, but carrying one is a challenge.

  13. It's a rock melon here. What a great find.

We love to eat grass and we wouldn't be allowed in someone's rose garden either....

  14. What a wonderful and fruitful walk! We love cantaloupe too and grow the ones called Minnesota Midgets because they do well in cooler climates. We also like to eat grass, especially new spring grass!

  15. I love to see the barn raising. Your Dad looked really great standing on the frame beam in Wednesday's first picture.
We went to a rose show Sunday and got two really beautiful roses from one of the exhibits that was closing. Lee paints words on some of the nice stones we dig up but then she turns them over and put them back for someone else to dig up when we are gone.
    Thanks for being a friend

  16. You two look pawtastic with the cantaloupe. But you couldn't bring it home?!? What a bummer.

Kaci and I eat grass occasionally. But it makes our stashes turn green.
