Just Not My Day

Yesterday, mom groomed me.   I have been licking at my foot a lot lately and a week ago, I visited my vet.  He did a very thorough exam and couldn't find any concerning issues. I was prescribed 5 days of Previcox just in case.   Both mom and Dr A think it's anxiety but that's another story.
So now mom grooms me and discovers this~
We didn't get photos of mom trying to put the soft evil lampshade on me but believe me, it wasn't pretty.   Picture a bucking bronco flinging his halter over his head about 20 feets from where he's standing.  Yup, that was me!
So the next bestest idea is Bag Balm and a sockie with velcro to keep it in place.
 This stuffs smells funny, mom.
I am waiting for the treat that I was promised!
Mom says today is an inside play day so that I can TRY to remain calm and heal my foot.   The treat machine is a fun past time and yummy too!
You operate the bone lever and I will eat all of the treats that you dispense to me, Mitch ☺
It is rainy and very cool and I needed to go out for a peepee break and look what she made me wear -  a poo bag over my AireSockie!  I sure hope that none of the neighbors see me in this get up!  What will they think?!

Time for a nap~
I sure do hope my toes heal fast!

So until next time...........

Love ya lots♥
Molly

  3. Hey Mitch...Teka here. I'm hoping your foot feels better soon. Gussie is a licker too. He used to have separation anxiety, but now he is just anxious all the time. Our vet prescribed "Neo-Predef " for him the last time, and here is what Drs Foster and Smith have to say "http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=10024 "

Not something to play around with, but if Gus gets to be too intense about it, we sprinkle this "pixie dust" on his foot and he is pretty good about stopping.

    Ask your vet!

  8. Poor Molly - those sores can be so annoying. We hope it heals quickly. Tell Mom to ask your vet about Bitter Orange double strength creme for dogs. It is made by ARC Laboratories. Mom used it on Phantom's tail to keep him from licking at his tumors. It is something like the bitter apple spray, but it is more creamy and stronger.

  14. Ouch, Molly! That looks super hurtie. One time, my cousin Mya had a rip in her pad and Mom bandaged it. When Mya had to go potty, Mom would cover the bandage with the finger part of a latex glove - don't forget, Mya was a mini dachshund :)

Hope your owwie gets better soon!

  19. We're with you. We hope that sore heals double quick! There's too much stuff to be doing outdoors for you to have to wear a baggie. At least you dealt effectively with the cone of shame.

You have a treat dispenser??!! Wow!

  20. Oh I am so sorry. I have never had this kind of trouble with the dogs. But horses are a different story. I like your example of the horse. Made me smile. I understand groomer anxiety. I/we groom Daisy ourselves. Someday I'll tell you that story. It's not pretty.
Hope she gets well fast. Thanks for visiting. I hope to share my decorations soon. We're getting a little festive here.
    Have a great week.

  22. Our house has bag balm too. Lee always brings it out when I have an owie boo boo. Why it works miracles and makes cracks in my pads heal up fast and it makes my pads soft again. Why that one sack foot look could become the next fashion statement.

  23. Ouch!!! Looks like you tried to fix it yourself. We do that too. Norma Jean tore a nail a couple years ago and had to wear a bag on her foot when she went outside. She looked pretty silly and didn't like walking in it, but Mom said it helped keep it clean and dry. Listen to your Mom and it'll soon be all well.
