Kitchen Helpers

We're helping mom make cranberry bread!
Yes, we each had a frozen cranberry.  Mackie spit his out and rolled it around on the floor but it didn't stay on the floor too long.  He ate it and I ate mine too.   They're kinda tart, huh?
We got to taste-test the batter.   It's very yummy!
Let's play while the cranberry bread is baking, Mackie!
It smells wonderful, mom.   We hope we get to try a piece of it when it's sliced!
We also helped mom make gram's recipe for pizzelles~
Ya know, mom was talking to gram the entire time she was baking these pizzelles and we looked around and gram wasn't in the kitchen with us.  hummmmm
Not one cookie came out perfect.    But we had fun making them and yes, we did get to try a couple of pieces but we were too fast for the camera and mom missed those shots.
Mom brought home gram's crystal container that she always used for her pizzelles when she was in Florida at the end of October.   She says that filling it to the brim was the special part of her morning.
Love ya lots♥
Molly and Mackie

  2. That's GREAT that your mom lets you two help in the kitchen! We usually are right by mama's feet in case anything happens to fall! We are glad that your mom is enjoying her pizelles and it's ok if they don't always come out quite right...they were made with love! Cranberries are kind of tart...but in the bread...they are delicious!!

  4. MMMMMM--haven't made pizelles since the kids left home. Not that they really appreciated them, but they were my excuse for having the treat in the house.

  5. We always help our mom when she is baking in the kitchen. It's so much fun to lick the bowl and beater when she is done. Even if those cookies didn't turn out looking perfect we bet they taste perfect.

  15. Those sound very yummy. I am hoping my granddaughter calls me Gram. My mom is Nana to our kids so I don't want to confuse her by having two nanas. I love the name Gram and it makes me happy to know that yours was so loved. ♥

  16. It is so good to use things which belonged to our loved ones. I have dishes from my Mom and Grandma and I love getting them out at the holidays and using them. Sweet Memories and we love the look of the bread and cookies. Hugs, Susie & Treacle

  17. Oh, the hoilday Pizzelle making! Some of Parental Unit's favorite memories are of her Dad making Pizzelles—and he made them perfectly according to her. They were the talk of the town!
