Our Gramp

It is with much sadness that we write to let you know that our mom lost her dad last night.   Some of you know that he struggled with Alzheimer's disease for years.   He is finally at peace♥

Daddy's are such special peeps~
We have so many wonderful memories through so many years~
Mom always looked forward to her trips to Florida.  She not only got to visit with her mom, but she got to visit with her dad.  Gramp knew who mom was.  He didn't speak any longer but he knew♥
And then gram passed and mom and her brother Mark decided to move gramp to New Orleans so Mark could have gramp closer to him and he could visit with him every single day and he did.  And gramp made the trip on the AirePlane and it was wonderful and mom had plans to visit with him in early December but it wasn't to be.
And then last night, yes, on our dad's birthday, mom's dad passed away.
So mom's mom and dad are together again forever and ever in Heaven♥
Mom and Mark, and our hooman sissy, Melissa, are flying to Florida on Monday to pack up gram's house.   Mom will be gone for a week.   She will not have computer access so she will be out of touch with blogs and emails.

We will catch up with everyone when mom gets back.

We love you all♥

Sleeping Giant

Dad and mom took us to Sleeping Giant yesterday to hike!   Mackie was wearing angel Mitch's apple bandana so he could come along with us in spirit♥
We met an 11 week old rescue Terrier mix puppy~
 Up we go~~
 This is sure fun!
I had a leaf stuck to my beard for the longest time!
 We got to meet Wilbur!
The Sumacs are sure pretty in the autumn~
Mom could have taken 87,000 pictures of the Bittersweet vine!
We're on our way up to the castle top!
We had our water break~
That's sure a long way down!
 We're having the bestest time!
On the way back home, I had my nose stuck out the car window.   My furs got blown back bigtime.  Mom says that my nose looks twice as honkin' large!  Do you think so too?
Can we do this again real soon, dad?  Maybe next time my friend Wyatt from obedience class can join us!
Today is our dad's birthday!
Happy Birthday to the bestest dad ever!

Helping Mom

We helped mom make Apple Crisp!
We need to make sure that the apples are sweet enough but not too sweet.    They're perfect, mom!
 Ready for the oven, mom~
 yummmmmmmm~~
When do we get to taste test?
Mom wanted maple walnut ice cream but dad insisted on strawberry so strawberry it is!
 Good choice, dad!
 It's delicious!
Smile away, Molly.   Your broad grin doesn't scare me one little bit!
We can't wait to have dessert again tonight!

Shopping for Trap Rock

Dad took us shopping for trap rock at Tilcon.   There is a huge scale underneath our truck that weighs us without a load.   It weighs us again when we leave and they know how much we loaded.
This map says that the processed stone is up the hill and swing to the right, dad.
Wow - that is one big machine!
He's going to load the processed stone into our truck.
Can you feel the truck sinking under all of the stone weight, Mackie?
Dad is paying and the lady is giving him cookies for us!  Way cool!
We have a full load and we're on our way back home.
Look what the masons did with the trap rock.  We have a new front porch and the sidewalk is coming along nicely!
Window wells~
We're doing our bestest to keep our peeps focused on this project so they can finish before the snow flies!   We need to plant grass seed quickly!

Flower Friday

We don't have many flowers blooming in our yard but we did find the pink Hydrangea still blooming~
A colorful  autumn branch hanging over the pond~
An autumn leaf alongside my nose~
So mom decided to bring the camera along on our morning walkie.
 We found pretty grasses!
 And a flamingo~
Their lamp post is all decorated for October~
 We found one lone Petunia~
 And a happy pumpkin flag☺
And some yellow Hot Poker flowers~
And a scary giant Halloween spider!
 Happy Friday, everybuddy!

I Win - I Win

I am officially 7 months old and I'm officially taller than Molly is!   When I was 6 months old, I was 24" to the withers and at 7 months old, I'm 26" to the withers!  Mom says that I'm sprouting like a green bean!
Molly at 4.5 years old is only 25" to the withers so I win!
At 6 months old, I weighed 46.5 pounds and today, I weigh 54.5 pounds.    Molly has me beat here by 3 pounds but not for long!

I can feel her eyes glaring at me from behind because I have my tongue on her tennis ball☺

Love ya lots♥
