Our Gram

Today would have been our gram's 85th birthday.   Mom still can't believe sometimes that she's really and truly gone.
Gram was an extremely talented hooman.   She designed and needlepointed this picture.   This is the home that mom and dad lived in before they moved where we live now.
Gram did beautiful needlework and lots of it.

She loved to knit too~
And she designed and made doll clothes and she designed and made her own clothes - mostly blouses.   She made almost all of our mom's dresses when she was in school.   To have a store-bought dress was a treat to our mom.
She loved to paint and she was good at it.   She taught classes to teach others.
She did ceramics and she entered them in shows and won lots of ribbons.
She made Christmas ornaments that everyone loves.  She had her own jigsaw to cut them out.  Her ornaments are painted on both sides.  They are works of art.
She made the bestest desserts - especially pizzelles♥
 She did calligraphy~
Happy Birthday in Heaven, gram.   We know that gramp and many others are with you helping you celebrate.   We sure do miss you here on Earth.
Love ya lots♥

  2. Oh my gosh, your Gram was incredibly talented. Her spirit lives on through all her beautiful art and crafts! Our Great Aunt used to make pizzelles and she left us her old-fashioned pizzelle maker so the tradition lives on.

Happy Birthday to your Gram in heaven!

  24. Oh My ..... that sent Mum into a flood of tears. She misses my Nan so much. She was talented in the needlework department too but not as talented as your Gram. Her work is amazingly beautiful. My Mum never got store bought dresses either but she was aways the best dressed kid around. What lovely memories you have to treasure always.
