Staying Positive

We have tough news to share with our Blogville friends.
After 44 years of marriage, our mom and dad will be going their separate ways.   Mom has been having a hard time focusing, so blogging has been difficult - especially composing.

The positive news is that mom and dad went together to check out an apartment.   I will be living with mom in this apartment and Mackie will be living with dad here at our house.   Dad will still be timber framing away in his barn and all of the ducks and geese and swans will stay.

Mom has been very picky about the apartment that she wanted.  It has to meet all of her needs and mine too.     I have not seen the apartment yet but I hear that it has a fenced in yard.   I have never had that before!   Mom thinks that this apartment was meant for us.   It's in a neighborhood close to where dad grew up.   Dad went to school with our new landlady, Miss Linda, so how cool is that!   One other thing that mom shared with me was as she and dad were approaching the gate in the fenced in yard to leave, dad glanced down and there was a tennis ball looking lonely and needing an AireGirl to play with it ☺
You all have heard us talk about the Glenwood where we get hamburgers and French fries.  It will be practically in our back yard!    And Sleeping Giant where we hike is only a couple of miles down the street!

Things are tough for the peeps but they're doing their very best to stay upbeat and positive and keeping it friendly so if we fall behind, please excuse us.    We will be back.

Love ya lots♥
Molly and Mackie

  9. Oh, I feel sad, not only for the pain you are going through now, but the painful times that must have led to this decision. Modern life, in which we marry for such a long time, puts a strain on us as we grow and change, and I think it's often a liberating moment when we decide to stay in each other's lives but live and grow in differing directions. I am sending you wishes for health and happiness, all four of you.

  16. Hey Guys...

We are sorry to hear about your Mom and Dad - and we have been through times like this with our peeps. They seem to coincide with Dad's sabbatical years. And Aunt Marie died just over a year ago this time, so... And of course, we are all missing Gussie. Things just kind of pile up on the humans.

I'm trying to do my part, but it is hard to work with a species that doesn't do well at living in the moment.

Call me if you want to talk

  31. Dear Molly and Mackie,

We are so sorry to hear this. We admire your decision to keep things positive. After 44 years there must be so many different emotions for your Mom and Dad, and we know dogs sense small changes in the atmosphere, so we hope if conversation ever gets difficult between your Mom and Dad they “call time” and change the topic to talk about the good times with you two, Mitch and Maggie and the things you've done that made everyone (including so many of us in blogville) smile or are able to step outside and take a moment or two to pat your furs, cuddle you and whisper into your ears that in time things will be OK.

Our thoughts are with you and all your family as you move to the next stage of your lives.

    Love and gentle woofs,
    Riley and Enzo.

  47. Years ago, your family became a part of my life.. At that time. it was Maggie and Mitch,,, You all were my first friends who welcomed me.
We all traveled down the paths together,, each understanding some of the challenges that we crossed. We all felt sad from saying goodbye when Angels came to take our friends,,, We all go through changes,, and even though we are apart we still love those who are gone.. I hope love remains in your heart,,, and you find your way again. I will never forget any of you,,, I will send a million magic bubbles to help you find your way again,,, no matter which path you take,,, I will remember you forever. Thank you for always giving me confidence. Right now mommy is lot is a rabbit hole,, so I understand,, we all go through changes. I love you all for ever.
