our neighbor in MD had apple trees and they always looked like that. Gnarly! His lab ate them mostly. Love those lantern flowers!

The apples will be wonderful in a few weeks time and those Chinese Lanterns are just fascinating I wish I could grow them here. You look as if you had a wonderful day outside. It will probably be a few more weeks before our day lilies bloom. We have a few very small pears on Joey dog's pear tree. I hope they don't get eaten up by the Evil Squirrel Cartel!
