My Guess the Paw Game Winnings

I got my package in the mail today from Boy n Baby all the way from Singapore!
I was one of the winners of the "Guess the Paw" game. I won because I guessed which paw was Boy's and which paw was Baby's plus I'm either creative or dog-sensical! Okay - this works for me because I got a fun package and a new toy! yeaaaaaaaaa - and I never win anything!
This is really so cool and just so sweet of you guys!
Mitch wanted to help me open it! That's fine if you remember whose toy it REALLY is!
Mom finally had to take over and remove the wrapper. Notice whose mouth is around MY toy!

I decided that Mitch had squeezed it long enough and it was time to let me have a turn seeing as the toy does belong to me! After all, I was the winner - not him!Mom really needs to teach this youngster some manners! For some reason he thinks everything is his!
Boy and Baby also sent a nice note and a really neat flower bookmarker!

That was a really fun game Boy and Baby! Thank you so much for choosing me as one of the lucky winners! I really appreciate it and I love the squeaky bone and mom just loves her new bookmarker!

Till next time................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

The Aire-Plan

Putter and I have been talking a lot lately and we've decided that we would like Sunshade to come to Connecticut for an Aire-girl visit with us! We want to go on walkies with her and take her to Pepe's in New Haven for their world famous pizza and Putter wants to show her the daycare that she attends and maybe they can swim together. We have so many ideas going around in our heads!Sunshade is the one that introduced me and Putter in the first place and we've become such good friends so we want to pay her back and show her the bestest time in our beautiful state of Connecticut. And seeing as Miss Sunshade is a true celebrity we intend to offer her ONLY top notch transportation and accommodations! We thought about an aireplane but cargo just isn't the place for our aire-friend. Would you want to ride in this:

We wouldn't either so we came up with a better idea! My dad knows two pilots that fly private jets and we thought that this might be the better idea for her Highness!

These seats are much more comfortable that that old dirty metal floor. We hear it's cold down there and it gets very noisy - not at all fitting for our girlfren! And we thought when Sunshade gets tired of sitting in those plush seats, the private jet would have a spot for her to rest so she'd be fresh when she got here and we could go for a walkie right away - maybe even climb Sleeping Giant with us or go visit the duckies and goosies!

Would this be to your liking Sunshade?

And we couldn't forget food! Heavens no! How about this tasty looking lunch! We'll make sure that the proper waite staff is aboard! We want everything to be to your liking!

We contacted Captain Bob and Captain Ross to see what their itineraries were so that Sunshade could fit us into her very busy schedule - soonest is better, right?!

Captain Bob told us that the private jet doesn't land in either one of our yards - the plane would land at an aireport and she'd have to find transportation from that point. Okay, we can work that out too!

We came up with a plan to send a limo to pick Sunshade up at the aireport - there's one problem! Do we go with the Hummer limo? Is this Sunshade's style? She's not really a girly girl - she's more of a tomboy!

Or the Rolls Royce? This choice is just so elegant and ritzy - total luxury!

Now remember - only the very best for her, right? So Sunshade, which will it be? Before we can can go any further with the reservations we need your input here. Which will it be? Putter and I are both eagerly waiting for your reply!

To be continued.....................

Mitch's Big Boy Hairecut!

The temperatures here are climbing to 80 today and mom was just itching to give us both haircuts. Yesterday I had MY day of beauty. I feel so much better. I sure do love my grooming sessions! I'm so much cooler and have so much more energy!
Today was Mitch's turn. It's his day to become a big boy! Mom has been stressed all morning because she didn't want to "lose her baby"! Get over it mom, it's just a haircut!
Mom carried Mitch upstairs to our grooming room because Mitch doesn't climb stairs yet. Here's the last shot of Mitch with puppy fur! Can I get you a tissue mom??!!
Mom has never groomed a dog this young before. When I was younger, I went to the "real" groomer's for the first 3 or 4 times before I said "enough of this all-day-away-from-mom stuff"! Mom didn't know how Mitch was going to respond to the clippers. The first time he was on the grooming table about a month ago was just for a quicky sissors job and to trim his nails. He wouldn't stand up so mom knew that she'd have to figure out how to accomplish this. She did her research online and discovered that if you sling a pup right in front of his back legs, you'll get what you want. She did and it worked! Here's an in progress picture.
Mom has also never groomed a little boy before and I could hear here asking Mitch what am I supposed to do with this paraphernalia (meaning his private area)!
Geez ma, how's Mitch supposed to know that! You'd best figure it out quickly!!!
Mitch was really a good boy for his new haircut adventure! He was very patient with mom and I could hear mom telling him how handsome he was - almost to the point that I wanted to puke! Mom took a picture of Mitch will all of his fur on the floor. So how do you feel Mitch? A lot cooler huh! Told you you'd love it!
Then I hear mom wailing that her baby is gone. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa And in the next breath - "but you look sooooooooo cute Mitch! Such a big boy! What till Maggie sees you and wait till Daddy sees what I've done!"
So down the stairs they come and mom is telling Mitch that it's cookie time! Yummy! I get one too, right mom?!

Okay, it's my turn now mom, right?! Mom did get a picture of both of us getting cookies but she said it was too indecent to post to the blog because Mitch was too excited, if you get my drift! Gee thanks a lot Mitch! You seem to be taking over MY blog today!

After our cookies, we started to play biteyface. hummmmmmmm not as much fur to grab onto anymore!

My little brother is growing up to be quite the handsome big boy! But I'm still the boss! Just you remember that!

Until next time..............

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Sleeping Giant

One of our favoritest places to go in the whole wide world is Sleeping Giant. It's a state park about 15 minutes from where we live and it's such a fun place to hike. I've been going with mom and dad since I was knee high and today was Mitch's first time.

This is Sleeping Giant. Can you see the Giant's head, chest and legs? He's lying down. The park is in Hamden, Connecticut - the town where my dad grew up. He actually played on this mountain as a boy and after all these years, he's still coming back!
We're ready to get going! Mom's filled the cooler with lots of water and ice and Mitch is forever clinging to me like glue! He's not sure about all of these new adventures yet. I've told him this is one adventure he's going to LOVE!!!

Here we are just starting out on the trail. There are sure some great smells!

What a great day for a hike! The weather is just beautiful! Dad is lagging behind getting a shot of mom and me and Mitch. It's a cool morning. The temperature overnight was 35 degrees - still pretty chilly but by day's end it's in the mid-60's or close to 70 degrees!

This is dad and Mitch ahead of us. Sleeping Giant is loaded with Mountain Laurel, Connecticut's state flower, but unfortuately, it's not in bloom just yet! The Laurel's are the bushes with the crooked trunks.

Dad calls this portion of the hike - sheer face. There are a lot of accidents that happen here with people trying to climb these rocks and someone slips! We've caught the ambulance here once already!Ahhhhhhhhhhhh just what we needed - a nice drink of ice cold mountain water!

We're almost at the top! Only a few more steps!
There's a castle at the top of the Giant. Most of the time we don't go inside. We didn't this time either but when Putter comes with us for a hike one of these times, we'll go up to the very tippity top for sure if she wants to so she can see the splendid view. Here's dad posing with us!
Mitch was lucky enough to find a banana peel up here! ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww gross! He'll pick up anything!

Here we are at the top catching our breath before we start the trip back down. This is just outside the castle.

This is the last leg before we get back to the bottom. It normally takes us about 1 1/2 hours to climb the Giant. These steps are actually a recent addition. It was sorta fun watching Mitch try to navigate them seeing as he hasn't done stairs in the house yet!

We had a surprise waiting for us at the bottom. Look what mom found and pointed out to us! It's a tennis ball and not only is Mitch hogging all the water but he decided that the ball was his too! That's the tip of my tail in the picture! Mitch is most probably thinking about biting it!

We had a great hike up Sleeping Giant! Both of us can't wait to go back and do it again!

Until next time..................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

A Package from Faya

The mailman delivered a box for me today - all the way from Switzerland. It's from my Airegirlfriend Faya! Hurry up and slice the tape so I can see what she sent me, okay mom!

Look at all these great goodies. Boy, does it ever smell good in this box!

Faya sent us a note~

It reads - Hello Maggie (Yup, that's me)
A little pack-surprise to say thank you for all the nice messages you are leaving on my blog. The little "hedgehog" is for Mitch, ok!
I hope we will chat again soon! (Me too Faya!)
Faya - your English is excellent! You must be studying really hard!
Check out our new bandanas from Switzerland! Mitch and I can be twins! We were fighting over the red one but mom said that because my name was on the box and because I'm older, I get to choose which color I want!
Mitch really does look pretty smashing in the green one anyway! BTW this is Mitch's very first bandana! We pulled more goodies from the box!
Next was a bone rope toy that says "First Toy"

I believe the note says that everything in the box belongs to me except the hedgehog so hand over the toy Mitch!

And now that I think about it, the green bandana is mine too! Take it off right now! Here, let me help you!

Faya also sent these most yummiest looking treats! I can't wait to try one out tomorrow while mom is busy weeding the garden. This will pass the time quite nicely! Thank you so much Faya!

And check out the dental hedgehog that Faya sent Mitch! This is just the neatest thing Faya! I've never seen one of these before. Everything is written in French but who cares! It all smells just divine! Mitch is going to love his treat!

What a nice surprise your box was Faya! Mitch and I love absolutely love everything you sent! Thank you so much! You're much to generous!

Until next time...............

Love ya lots,

Maggie
