Happy Father's Day Dad

I wanted to share a few memories with you between me and my dad. I'm almost 9 years old so I've known my dad for a good long time! We've shared lots of great times together and there will be many more great times to come.

This is me at 5 months old! I had just gotten my first haircut from the groomer. Dad looks a wee bit younger too- wow - 8 1/2 years younger to be exact!
This picture is from Christmas '05. Dad and I are playing tug-a-war with my new bone toy! Dad's always good for a few laughs!
Here we are impressing Aunt Eva with a tiny training session! Look how young Mitch is!
Mitch now does high five for cookies too so dad's hard work has paid off!Dad is always taking us to get ice cream!
99% of the time it's his idea, not moms! Thanks Dad - you're the greatest!

This is me, Mitch and dad at Sleeping Giant, our most favorite place in the whole wide world to hike! Thanks dad for all the adventures! We can't tell you how special each and every one of them is to us! You're the best!Today is your day dad! We'd love to tell you to relax and put your feet up but that's totally not you! So instead we'll go for our Sunday walkie and we'll have oonies for dinner with the sauce that you made for us with your own two hands! - yum - and how about if Mitch and I treat you to ice cream - whatever flavor you desire! It's on us!

We want to wish you the bestest father's day ever!

We love you - lots and lots!

Love,

Your furdaughter Maggie and your little boy Mitch~

What Mitch Wants To Be When He Grows Up

Mitch was in deep doodoo this morning. Mom got up at her usual early hour and did a load of laundry and put coffee on and was coming into the computer room to relax and have an hour of fun before dad got up. She passed by bed #1 and no Mitch and she passed by bed #2 and no Mitch and she knew right then and there that he was up to no good!
She came into the computer room and there was Mitch happily sucking the eye off of her collectible Kathe Kruse floppy bear named Huffy!
Here's a picture of Huffy's good eye! It's a shoe button eye and we haven't found the button yet so we're guessing that it's still inside Mitch's tummy!
Mom was so upset about the eye that she didn't notice right away that his nose is also missing! Mitch is a bad boy!

Huffy didn't come with that sweater. Mom knit that sweater just for him because he's one of mom's favorite bears! She got him years ago when Missy was still in elementary school and now she's a married woman!

Mom and I have decided that Mitch must want to be an opthomologist when he grows up. He's already getting his surgical experience on both eyes and noses! He did do a pretty thorough job of it, didn't he!

Mitch doesn't look like he's very sorry that any of this happened! What do you all think?

Dad has offered to take us out for ice cream tonight! Does Mitch get to go too or should he be punished and have to stay home alone with a partially blind Huffy who now can't smell the better things in life?

Until next time..................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

A Cartoon from Putter

Mom went to the mailbox today and came inside carrying an envelope with my name and her name on it! What could it be? Were we expecting anything mom? Mom opened it up (she knew I'd rip it to shreds if I even tried) and look what was inside! It's a cartoon from Putter.
Putter's mom got this software for her birthday, which BTW is the same day my sister and Jim got married, and she made a comic strip of the first time Putter and I met! This is just such a neat memory to have! The first frame says "Are you Putter?" and Putter says "Yup!"
Next frame - "Hi Putter! How are You?" and Putter says "Hi Maggie! Want to play?"(We're standing in front of the barn garden.)

Next frame - "You are fun, Putter!" and Putter says, "Come on Maggie!"(Putter is doing playbows!)

Next frame - "Hi! I'm Mitch!"

And the last frame - "Smells good!"(We are both sniffing the same thing and are both in total agreement!)

Mitch is thrilled that he made the cartoon too!

Hey Mitch! That's you buddy!

Thank you Putter! This cartoon is just the coolest! We're putting this gift away for safe keeping!

Mom was at the grocery store today and she came home with ONE toy! This is bad news because there are two of us pups that live here! What was she thinking! So guess which one of us she hands the toy to first? The one with his mouth right up there in the aire! The evil little devil boy that doesn't play nice!

He thinks everything in this world is his and he still hasn't learned to share and I'm thinkin' he NEVER will!

Oh well! He'll get tired of it soon enough and then I can have at it!

Till next time................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

We Both Got Haircuts!

Dad is away for a couple of days - climbing Mount Washington in New Hampshire to be exact - and mom wanted to give us both haircuts to keep us cooler during the warmer months.
Mitch was first and got groomed yesterday. Mom says his fur is so different from mine! It's more coarse and wirey and mine is more wool-like and softer and fluffy. She says Mitch's fur is much easier to clipper!
The little dude is growing up!
He still doesn't climb stairs - he runs in fear - so mom still has to pick him up and carry him up and down the stairs. We haven't weighed Mitch in a week but he's got to weigh around 48 pounds! That's quite an armful!

My grooming session was today after our walkie. Mom says she needs a new blade to get through my fur for the next time! She says she felt sorry for the poor Oster clippers having to work so hard!

Because dad isn't home, mom always eats stupid stuff that requires no cooking like ice cream or chips or cookies! Mom is very smart to do this and she's very generous about sharing with us! I hear tonight's dinner is ice cream and cinnamon sugar pita chips! yummmmmmmmmm
What time do we eat mom?
We had a nice surprise in our email box this morning. It was from Sir Chance-Lot. He said I was his friend of the day! It's that so cool and look what his mom created! It's just beautiful! We absolutely love it!

We're so honored Chance! Thank you so very, very much!

Till next time...............

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Missy and Jim's Wedding Day

The weather was not the best for the wedding but they say that rain is good luck and if that's true then Missy and Jim are two very lucky people and will have a long life together!
Most of the showers happened early in the morning while mom and Missy and two friends ran flowers from the barn to underneath the wedding tent.
At 1PM when the bride came out of the house and the ceremony was to begin the showers miraculously stopped!
Missy and Jim are taking their vows in this picture. Can you see Dauby, our swan making sure that everything is going along okay! Jim's sister was the matron of honor and Missy's best friend Erin, was the bride's maid. The minister is hiding inside the wedding arbor and one false move and he's going swimming with Dauby! hehehehe

This picture is of mom and dad looking on as Missy and Jim are taking their vows. That's a red RedSox cap in dad's back pocket!
This is my sister and Jim being introduced as man and wife getting ready to pawty at their reception. There were about 140 guests.
This is the couple's first dance together as man and wife. They danced to "Far Away" by Nickelback.
This is mom and cousin Michael dancing together and dad and cousin Karen. They're our Rhode Island cousins that have Jenna, the Vizsla! The couple to dad and Karen's left is Jim's mom and dad, Pete and Carol.

This picture is of dad, mom and Missy before the reception started. Take a good look cause you'll never see mom this dressed up ever again! heheheheThese pictures are the first ones we've gotten hot off the press from friends. I can't wait to see me posing with my sister for the bridal shots! The photographer took those and he's not as quick about sharing pictures as friends are! If there are any more "must share" photos, we'll make sure you all see them, okay?

Till next time.................

We Got to Go,We Got to Go!!!

We were at the wedding! We couldn't wait to write and tell you all!
Mom and dad were up early that day and we did get our walkies in but then things got super busy! We did have rain while mom and Missy and two neighbors were putting the tablecloths on the tables and moving vases of flowers from the barn to under the tent but it was okay! And we hear that rain is good luck on the wedding day so they'll have lots of good luck! Actually the rain didn't stop until 1PM - just at the right time for Missy and Jim to get married in front of the pond under the wedding arbor! There were TONS of people here! Dad brought us out for a pee break so we could see! We even got to meet the DJ! I sorta look like I'm being strangled, huh! oops! We were sorta excited! We've never seen so many people in our yard before!
We even got to check out the dance floor!
Even Jim came over to give me a pat or two and welcome me to the wedding! Doesn't he look so handsome in his tux? We don't normally see him looking so good! Dad either for that matter!
Here's a picture of Mitch saying hi to one of the guests! He was a little over excited, don't you think?! hehehehehe
Mom did manage to get a shot of the wedding cake before it got hacked into and eaten!
Mitch scored an appetizer! We were late getting out there and there wasn't much left but mom searched until she found us one measley tidbit - but it was better than nothing, right?
I scored twice! I got one of these vege sticks that Mitch got too ~
But then I noticed our cousin Miss Karen standing there with a plate of good looking food and I wanted to say hi so I jumped up to kiss her and her plate sorta toppled and I got Chicken Marsala! Smart move, huh *wink*

We have to apologize because we don't at this time have any pictures of the bride. Mom only brought her camera outside once when we were out there but lots of guests took pictures and the photographer got TONS of pictures so we'll have to do another wedding posting so you can see me posing with Missy for her wedding portraits before she even left the house on dad's arm!

We leave you with one last garden shot~

Till next time..............

Love ya lots,

Maggie

One Day to Go!

Today was an exciting day! The tent arrived and two men worked for a couple of hours getting it set up! So now we have instant shade and a place for shelter in case it rains but everyone is in total agreement that it won't rain - it simply wouldn't have the nerve!!!
Tables and chairs arrived so Missy and Jim spent some time getting those in place. Know what? It's starting to look like someone is having a pawty at our house! Mom asked me to check the garden for weeds so I'm helping out!

Not too long went by and another truck showed up - this was was carrying wedding potties so the guests have a place to go potty outside! I'm checking out the situation to make sure that everything is clean and tidy!

The dance floor is in place! That's an important part of the wedding mom says! Here we are giving it a whirl! All we need is music!

Mom has been working her hiney off trying to get every single weed out of these gardens! This is nearly an impossible situation but don't tell her that!

Cousin Chris flew in from California this morning and was here helping us haul soda, beer, wine and water from the basement to the red barn. This is the exciting part - the drinks to wash the FOOD down with! The food is what the wedding is all about, right?

At the end of the day, dad decided to order pizza and we ate it under the tent! It was awesome!

Time to relax! It's been stressful for awhile now but all the planning is finally coming together! The day is almost here!Tomorrow mom's family flies in from Florida and arrives mid-afternoon. The wedding rehearsal is at 5PM and the rehearsal dinner is at 6PM so things are moving at this point!
Saturday is the big day! Caterers will be here with the important stuff and the DJ will come and set up to play music and before you know it the guests will arrive and the appetizers will come out.
The wedding arbor will be set in place and Missy will come out of the house looking just beautiful! There's still lots to do and I'm getting ahead of myself but it's so exciting!
I'm getting pooped just thinking about it!
I think I'll just relax here in this nice cool grass!
Until next time.................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Wedding Housework

Mom and I have been cleaning the house all day to prepare for our family that comes this Friday for my sister's wedding on Saturday, only 4 days away! Mom told me that gram and gramp will be flying in along with my Uncle Mark, Aunt Kathy and Hallie, my nine year old cousin!
Hey, I just realized that we're about the same age! Hallie was 9 in September and I'll be 9 in July! Cool! We can have lots of girl talk - maybe even a pillow fight!
Hoover came out of the closet early this morning and made lots of noise for too long a period of time as far as I'm concerned! He was running around upstairs and downstairs and all over the place driving me nuts!

Next was that darn dustmop - the one that steals my toys! I can't figure out why my toys want to jump on the dustmop and go for a ride but they do and I have to constantly get up and rescue them so they don't get too far away from my watchful eye! One of these days I'm going to rip that dustmop to shreds!Mom was upstairs setting up this fancy bed that comes out of a box. It has these neat legs that unfold and accordian out and a mattress that blows inself up and presto, you have a bed! It's really pretty cool! I didn't get to help with that part - I stayed on the first floor so I could guard my stuff, but I did hear some funny sounding motor noises going on above my head!

Next was the dusting - mom's favorite chore - UGH!!! Mom says dusting is a waste of her precious time because you spend all this time making the furniture shine and the next day the dusty film is right back so she feels that it's a senseless chore! Hey, Cuz doesn't need dusting!

Mitch has been outside helping dad organize the center bay of the barn where the food will go! That's the best part of this whole wedding - the FOOD!!!

Oh BTW, you keep asking if Mitch and I are part of the wedding party and the answer is no! For some reason my sister and Jim seem to think that two pre-school age kids can do a better job than we can! Imagine! Mitch would make the perfect ring bearer, don't you think? He's got that puppy black coat already and it's the perfect tuxedo coat! He's got his new bigboy collar and I think he's more handsome than any little kid! Don't you think that he can be trusted not to eat the rings? They don't smell or look good so why bother! And I love flowers and tossing petals doesn't take any training! Heck, I do that all the time!

It's a very rainy wet day today so we're glad that we're getting this "fun" stuff out of the way! The rain usually makes the weeds pop so we'll be out in the garden tomorrow with our butts in the aire makin' those gardens shine for the wedding!

Until next time.............

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Mitch at Six Months Old

Mitch was officially 6 months old on May 24th.

Mom weighed him today and he's a whopping 45.5 pounds.
She also weighed me just to compare and I'm a dainty 54 pounds! The little porker is only a few pounds lighter than I am!

Mom also measured our heights.
Mitch is 21 3/4 - 22" to the withers.
I'm 23 3/4 - 24" to the withers.

Mom measure Mitch's paw. I swear he has the BIGGEST feet! His front paw measures 3" across and mine is only 2 3/4". I hope he never steps on me!

The length of Mitch's tail is 5". He got cheated! Someone docked it way too short! hehehehe The length of my tail is 9" - the perfect length for a perfect girl!

Mom also measured our neck sizes. Mitch's neck measures 14 3/4" and mine is only 1/4" larger and I'm almost 9 years old! Do you think this brat will ever stop growing?

Mom presented Mitch with a big boy collar for his 6-month mini-birthday! The collar is not red - it's a reddish brown but the picture is making it look red. He really looks pretty handsome in it! He's a lucky boy! I didn't get my fancy collar till I was a lot older! I guess you know who's more special!
It's got a pretty brass plate on it with Mitch's name and our telephone number just in case (God forbid) Mitch ever got lost! At least he can call home and tell mom to come and pick him up.
He also got a small pressie to mark the special occassion. It's a Nylabone BarBChew Rib Rack! He has yet to put it down so I can check it out!
Hey, that looks kinda yummy! Can I have a taste too?

Yea sure! Even though he's officially six months old he still hasn't learned how to share yet!

Dad took us out for ice cream too to celebrate Mitch's big day!
Here he comes! I can hardly wait! Today's flavor was peanut butter yogurt! yummy!
Hey, it's my birthday! I get the most - not you!

Just to let you all know - Mitch never had to wear the dreaded lampshade after his neuter surgery! He never once abused his stitches so mom never had to figure out how to use the darn cone thing! We'll be storing it on the top shelf in the closet just in case it will be needed for some other occassion!

Until next time.............

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Big Brave Airedales

This morning mom was moving vases of flowers that will be the centerpieces on the tables under the wedding tent from the house to the barn. The wedding is less than 8 days away!

She must have made 15 trips back and forth and back and forth. She noticed that there was a turtle in the garden laying eggs and of course she wished that she had her camera because she actually could see right under mama turtle's butt, the eggs that she was laying in the hole that she had dug.

When mom was finished with this moving project she brought me outside with her so that I could hang with Mitch. I have a tie-out line connected to our apple tree and as mom was hooking me up Mrs. Turtle was making her was over to say hi!
Mom started to laugh hysterically because it wasn't long before she realized that Mitch and I were both scared to death of mama turtle!
Here's a really cool action shot that mom just happened to get of me! Wheeeeeeeeee!

You can see by this video that I really wasn't too happy with Mrs. Turtle being this close to me!

Mom wants to know if you guys think this face looks like that of a killer to you? I personally think she looks pretty grumpy and the poor woman just had 20 kids so what would you expect!

Until next time..............

Love ya lots,

Maggie
