True Colors Thursday - Chocolate Brown

What a yummy Thursday this is! If you want to play along on true colors Thursday, let Blue know - it's easy!
Today's color is chocolate brown!

That's mom's chocolate brown teddy bear that she got on her very first Christmas as a baby! It's a Knickerbocker! He used to have a yellow ribbon around his neck and a growler in his tummy but both are long gone!
Do you think mom will bend the rules and let us have some of this chocolate brown stuff, Mitch?!
I'm dreaming of eating chocolate brown cake! What a bummer that it can't be for real! What about some of this chocolate brown soy milk, mom? We hear that it's very good for you!
No way could we do a chocolate brown post without M&M's!
Next week's color is pale pink!

So until next time...............

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

Wheelie Wednesday - The August Garden

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
The Phlox is in bloom! We have plants in this pretty purplish color and white ones and also a pink that mom says looks like pepto bismol! And the Coneflower is in bloom too! This is such a pretty plant and every year it drops seeds and new plants start for us and we think that's a wonderful thing! This picture is of the giant zinnias and marigolds and sunflowers from a wee bit of a distance! We wanted you to see how tall the sunflowers are getting! We can't wait for the flowers to appear! The birdies probably can't either!
Look at the pretty picture we got of a butterfly on the butterfly bush! The butterfly has a damaged tail so we're thinking that we can keep track of this guy and see how often he comes to snack on our flowers!
See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn

For Me??!!

It's hot here today and I didn't go on morning walkies with the family because I hate to be hot! I patiently waited for them to come home.
Dad and Uncle Oliver took Mitch and off they went to Crumps to do barn work!
I was totally bored until the mail man brought me a pressie!
OMG, is it really for me, mom?
It's a belated barkday pressie from my friends, Huskee and Hershey! Oh what fun!
And guess what the best part is? There is no Mitch here to help me open MY pressie! yipppeeeeeeeeeeee
Look at all of this good stuff and it's all for ME!
And of course we won't mention that the card says that I can share with Mitch too! hehehehe
What he doesn't know won't hurt him, right?!
See how nicely I posed with all of my loot and I was a good girl - I didn't taste a thing until mom finished taking my picture! But once she did..................Thank you so very much, Huskee and Hershey! This was such a nice surprise and so very thoughtful of you!
You took my boring day and made it very special! I can't thank you enough! Thank you, thank you!

So until next time................

Love ya lots,

Yogurt Cones and the Name Game

Look what mom made us! It's an ice cream cone and it's filled with vanilla yogurt!
You've got yogurt all over your face, Mitch! hehehe
Boy is this ever yummy!
Mine is almost all gone! Do you want yours or can I have it?
Can we do this again tomorrow, mom?!

We were at Tank's blog and he was playing the name game and we thought that might be fun so we decided to tell you all how we got our names!

Dad actually named me! Mom wanted to name me Winnie after Winnie the Pooh but dad didn't like that! So Maggie was settled on! Actually, my registered name is MagapeeBriddleBritt! Yup, that's dad for ya! AKC wanted it to be different and it sure is!

When dad bought Mitch, he came with the name Ruger! ewwwwwwwwwwwwww
Mom always said that if she ever had a boy Airedale his name would be Mitch, after Mitch Miller, who had a cute little goatee!
So mom got her Mitch and dad has his Maggie and we are very lucky pups!

So until next time..................

A Package For Me - No, For Me

A package arrived in the mail yesterday! Do you see anything in there?
It's an Antlerz, Mitch, but how come there is only one of them in the box? There are two of us!Isn't this the same kind of chewie that we each got for Christmas, Maggie? But look how much bigger the new one is than the older ones!

We finally had to toss one of these Antlerz away because we wore it down to just about nothing and mom didn't want one of us to accidentally choke on it! It's a pricey chew but it's all natural and we LOVE them and it has lasted us for 6 whole months!
Mom said that this new one is a monster size and the other one is a medium!

Seeing as I'm older and I was here first, I think this new one should be MINE! You can have the medium-sized one, Mitch!
But I'm bigger than you and I'm your brother who loves you and you always share with me! Pretty please, Maggie?Awwwwww, thank you, Maggie! You're the sweetest sissy ever!
So until next time.................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

True Colors Thursday - Pink and Purple Together

It's true colors Thursday again! If you want to play, give our hostess Blue a shout!
This week was a "free" week! We were allowed to choose whatever color we wanted to! It was tough because there are just so many choices!
Mom was out in the vege garden one day and she got a picture of a morning glory that dad had planted! This color combo has been a favorite of hers since she was in high school, which is a bazillion years ago!
Our choice for this week is pink and purple together!
This was the deciding picture~
And of course, once we have an assignment, we're all over it!

My piggie is pink and purple!
The silk flower valance in our downstairs bathroom is pink and purple! This heart has pink and purple on it and so does the needle felted Airedale pillow that mom made a couple of years ago!
The collar that Oscar gave me is pink and purple! Oscar was our Airedale buddy that crossed the Rainbow Bridge 2 years ago. We miss you, Oscar!
Next weeks color is chocolate brown!

So until next time....................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

Wheelie Wednesday - A Vege Garden Update

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
The sunflowers are well over my head now and the marigolds and zinnias are all blooming away! There are so many pretty colors! I can't decide which color I like best!
The Fourth of July tomatoes are ripening and so are these little guys called Dimes! Look how cute and tiny they are and boy, are they ever sweet!
These are pumpkin flowers! Look how big they are! I see little teeny pumpkins growing in there! They still have a long way to go before they're the right size and color for the autumn season!
The acorn squash is doing very well! This is the first year that we've grown it and mom is not quite sure when you're supposed to pick it! Some of it looks to be the right size but we don't know if it's ripe or not! I guess we'd better read up on it!
This is not too bad for a morning's picking! Thank goodness we brought the harvest basket and I don't have to drag another zucchini to the back door!Leaving the vege garden and crossing the brook, I can't help but turn around and admire all of dad's pretty morning glories that he has growing on his wire trellis!
Heading back to the house, I have to say hi to my sissy, Maggie! She's enjoying her stuffed bone!
The zinnias and butterfly bush are both in bloom right outside our back door! What vibrant colors!See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn
