Strawberries

Mom and I were doing our poo walk over by the small pond and look what we found~
Little tiny strawberries - tons of them!

 I'm a flower child!

Mom says because we're near the mucky water we always have to be watchful for snakes and snapping turtles!    Dad caught this one in the larger pond but snapping turtles migrate from pond to pond and they have been known to kill ducks, geese and swans and we don't need that problem.  We think of turtles as being slow because they carry their homes on their backs.  Not Mr Snapper.  He's fast as lightning lunging at you and he can turn on a dime.  Beware!  Just look at the claws on him.  He needs a trip to PetSmart to have his nails trimmed!

I love coming over to the small pond to explore.  There is always something of interest~
So until next time.........

Happy Flag Day

Dad and mom have been steady workers on the front of the house.    These are the 6 over 6 windows with trim removed.  They're ready to come out and be replaced with new energy efficient ones.  They are the original windows in our 1824 house.
Dad tarpped the front of the house and he put plastic up inside to keep the dust and dirt to a minimum.     For two days before the new 12 over 12 window went in, it sounded like the traffic was coming right inside our house.   Glass really is a wonderful insulator for noise and thank goodness we didn't get any thunderstorms!  We would have been beside ourselves!  They were predicted. Neither one of us likes electrical storms.
Two new 12 over 12 windows installed.  Trim will happen this winter.  Dad is hoping that he can just rework the old trim. We'll see.
 It's coming along.
Happy Flag Day to all of our friends in the USA!

So until next time.............

Flower Friday

We're joining Dory again this week for Flower Friday!

The red orange poppy is in bloom.  It's huge and so beautiful♥
 This is Lady's Mantle~
Mom loves how the rain drops collect on her leaves.
The later blooming wisteria is making a showing and it smells so pretty~

This is Mountain Laurel.  It's Connecticut's state flower.    It's such a shame that it doesn't have a fragrance. All flowers should smell beautiful!
Even the buds on the Mountain Laurel are cute.

This is the only yellow Lupine in our yard.  We need to fix that, mom!
We just love all of the beautiful purples!
Happy Friday, everybody!

So until next time..............

Celebration of Life Walkie

This is where our dad was this past Sunday~

 Annual 5K Celebration of Life

NJ Sharing Network's Annual 5K Celebration of Life brings together thousands of walkers, runners and volunteers to honor those who gave, pay tribute to those who received, offer hope to those who continue to wait and remember the lives lost while waiting.
Since the inaugural event in 2011, the NJ Sharing Network Foundation has raised more than $1.5 million toward increasing the number of lives saved through education, research, donor family support and public awareness about the life-saving benefits of organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
Whether you participate in the 5K or the many other event festivities, join us for a fun-filled celebration including music, snacks, prizes, and exciting activities for all ages.

He brought home some good stuffs!     The shirt is tennis ball chartreuse!   This is one of the coolest colors going!
And check out Molly's new bracelet!
And he brought home a HUGE pill for my newly diagnosed illness.   He says it's going to fix me up as good as new!  My dad is so very thoughtful!
 This is not funny, mom!
Dad said that the picnic afterwards was super yummy.  He told us all about the Italian ices that had real fruit in them. He said he had 3 ices because they were so good - strawberry, lemon and pineapple.  How come he didn't bring any of those home for us?!

Maybe next time we can go.  We like walkies too, dad!

So until next time...........

TruFood

Molly and I were supervising outside in our secure play area when the FedEx man pulled in. Guess what he brought us?
A box from Chewy!  yahoooooooo   We always know that we're getting something yummy when we see a Chewy label on a box and that box is always addressed to us - Mitch and Molly!
This month we're trying out the Wellness Trufood.    These are grain-free cookies with coconut oil and chia seeds and salmon and turkey liver and spinach.  They also contain probiotics and botanicals.
These are in the super healthy category!
Yup, they're greenish because of the spinach.    Molly and I both love spinach leaves and these treats are winners!  They are so yummy and mom says just the right size!
Yes, please - and no, I don't need groomies yet, mom.   You don't need to see my eyes. I can see you and that yummy treat just fine!
Toss me another one, mom!  These treats are good!
Dad and mom are working hard on the front of the house.  Dad took off all of the shingles on the porch roof and put new sheathing on.  Next will be the  drip edge andWeatherwatch and then the new shingles.
Back to work, Molly.   Being supervisors is tough but VERY rewarding.
Thanks, Chewy!  You make our jobs so much easier and a whole lot more fun!
So until next time..........

Results

We were outside helping mom garden when my vet called with results so mom didn't talk directly to him but he did leave a lengthy message.

The results that we were waiting for was an antibody test for Muscle Myositis.    The test came back normal with negative antibodies.     He thinks that the MM was caught at the end stage.    I had longer furs a couple of weeks ago before I was groomed so he thinks that the sinking went unnoticed and he also thinks that I may have had discomfort but that it wasn't so bad that it raised red flags to mom and dad to act.   Mom can agree with some of this but not all.  The sinking didn't appear until days after I was groomed.  She says how can you not notice that your dog's head is caving in?  It's horrifying!

He thinks that I may still have Muscle Myositis and at one point, I may get a flare-up like I can get a flair-up from my Lyme disease but I'm not in any pain at this time so no treatment is needed.

Don't worry, Molly - I'll be okay!
He did say that if the other side of my head begins to sink in to let him know.   Are you kidding me?!

Mom says that I will always be her big handsome boy and she's already told me for the 87th time that I look wonderful in my yellow AireCollar♥
We're going to be together for a long time to come, Molly!  You'll see~~
I'm going back to living my life and having fun each and every day, which I've been doing the entire time anyway!

So until next time...........

Not So Fast

We thought that my guzzling water days were behind us but I'm still drinking more water than I really should be. My vet thought it was Lyme disease related but now we're not so sure.   My Doxy med is all gone - today was the last day.
Take a look at the photo of this Golden. Mom found the picture of him here
The same thing is happening to me. This picture of me was taken on Thursday.  We were in Lenny and Joe's parking lot waiting for dad to return to the car.
It's almost like this condition happened overnight.  The muscle tone over my eye is sinking and my eyeball is moving backwards into my eye socket and when I yawn, my eye rolls back and mom get totally wigged out and frantic.
On Friday, I saw my vet and he stole more blood from me.  It was only a month ago that he stole the first batch.  My eyes were given the third degree and so was my jaw.   I don't have any pain but my eye annoys me and I do paw at it.
My blood test results are coming back in the normal range.  We are still waiting for results for one more test.
Of course, mom and dad are beyond concerned and the waiting for a diagnosis is tough.
I still have all of my same energy when something fun and exciting is going to happen  - like my morning walkies or going to Lenny and Joe's for dindin, which was fun.  And I still get excited when it's meal time here.  Well, who doesn't like to eat, right!   I do sleep a lot more and mom and dad say that I'm just not myself.
Could you all please cross your paws for me.   Mom and dad are very worried.   I'm only 8 years old!  We'll keep you updated.

Love ya lots♥
