Flower Friday

We are joining Rosy today for Flower Friday~~

Off we go to see what we can find.

 

We are seeing Pokeweed everywhere with its pretty purple-black berries~

 The Cedar tree is sporting its funny looking cones~

And we found Puffball mushrooms.   It looks like a heart where the smoke comes out!

No way!  Mom found mushroom with red on it!  It's a lousy picture but it's evidence!

 And we found purple Wild Asters~

 The Sedum is pretty but I don't detect any pretty scent, mom~

 We found these tall grasses right next to the stop sign~

It's Pip

Mom was shopping at TJ Maxx yesterday and she came home with a pressie for me~
You remember Pip, right!

I'm going to name my new stuffie Pip!  He has lots of squeakers in him and he's BIG!

 We just love his red bow tie!

You know how to play ball, right, Pip!

In case anyone wants to know, he is made by Zippy Paws and he's called a squeakie pup!    The squeakie pups are available in a few other dog breeds.

Mackie is back at home with dad so I have mom all to myself once again!

 This was the last picture of Miss Heather's house that we saw~ 
It's just amazing how fast a building can go up when you have a lot of skilled hands and believe it or not - everyone has a great time! 

 And do we think Miss Heather is happy with the progress of her new home☺

Flower Friday

We are joining Rosy and Arty for Flower Friday~

Mackie is helping me search for pretty flowers this week.  She didn't bring any treats, Mackie, so stop worshiping her!

 We have seen this wildflower all summer.   It starts out tubular and eventually, the tube bursts into fluff.   We had no idea what it was so mom asked her very knowledgeable herb friend, Miss Jan, and she said that it was Lactuca Virosa, which seems to be in the wild lettuce family.  

 Mom treated herself to a checkered pumpkin~

 And we found Holly with berries in our back yard~

 The sunflowers aren't smiling any longer.   They have dropped their heads.   We do see a lot of birds darting in and out, especially goldfinches.  They are the sweetest and prettiest little birdies!

Tasty Tuesday

We are making Madi's soup for dinner tonight~

Mom had a wee bit of celery that she needed to use up.   Celery is not in Madi's recipe but we did add it.
You remember liking celery, right, Mackie?    It's good stuffs!  Eat it!
He did take it and he ran into the living room with it so that I wouldn't steal it from him☺

 You remember how good spinach is, right, Mackie?

 Yes, you sure do!

 Mom can't wait for dinner time tonight.   She LOVES Madi's soup!

Mackie's dad is leading a barn raising in Maine this week.   The actual raising isn't until Thursday but some of the crew has already arrived and they are working on putting bents together.   The barn will be 28' wide x 50' long with a 10' basement.

 Mackie's dad has a special needs duck that he couldn't leave at home so this ducky and his bestest buddy, who is also a ducky, are at the barn raising!

My dad told me that I would have lots of fun on my vacation with Molly.    He never mentioned the word "bath".

 Don't worry, Mackie.    Mom always gives me a cookie after my bath.   Let's sit pretty for our cookies!

Mackie arrived yesterday and he's already eating all of the peanut butter out of my bone!

 The chestnuts are ripening and will be dropping all over the ground soon.

 Mom just loves the aroma of Phlox!

 Mom stuck the Chinese Lanterns in an autumn garland on our fireplace!

My New Piggy

Look what came this morning along with my kibble in the Chewy box!   She makes crinkle noises and has tennis balls inside of her.

Dr Lyons Skin and Coat

We received Dr Lyons Skin and Coat supplement along with the Liver Support supplement from Chewy a couple of weeks ago to use and review.
We did our review on the Liver Support a couple of weeks ago.   Mom has not noticed anything earth shattering about my health or my skin or my poo.   I do not have liver issues so if I did, this could be a different story.  

 Awhile back, we told you about my less-than perfect paws aka hairy dog feets.   I did see my vet and he prescribed the Vetoquinol Care, which mom has been giving me until Chewy sent us the Dr Lyons Skin and Coat Support supplement.  

 As you can see, my feets pretty much still look the same.   Mom applies coconut oil daily.  We find that the coconut oil works best for me.   This condition will not get better.  It sounds like I will have the Hyperkeratosis for the rest of my life.

Unfortunately, salmon oil and me do not get along well together.  My belly broke out in pink spots and I got itchy very quickly.    Mom stopped the supplement immediately and we are back to what my vet recommended.    My tummy is back to what it was before the flare-up and this is a good thing.    Mackie will be visiting us in a couple of weeks so we can see how the supplement works for him.
