We are joining Rosy this week for Nature Friday~~
Mom bought me a new head collar for Christmas. She told me that I needed a larger size. I can assure you that it was NOT on my Christmas list!On Sunday's walk, we discovered these peeps had Christmas decorations out already! The sky looked very ominous~How beautiful this Sycamore bark is!We forgot to post this picture of the bittersweet berries. Mom usually cuts them and brings them inside to decorate with but she didn't do that this year.Happy Friday, everyone!Love ya lots♥Duke

Mom says the day after Thanksgiving is the day to put up the Christmas decorations but some put them up earlier to get it done before it gets really cold and snowy. It still looks pretty fall like in your area. We are thankful for cold and snow here. Have a fun weekend!

ReplyDeleteAh, but is that head leash helping keep mum's shoulders in their sockets?!! Love the bark and the berries... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Duke you always look handsome. Even with your new collar. And when you look at those bittersweet berries! I used to have some to walk by all the time way too high to cut. But a new house just went in and they bulldozed all the trees that had that had bitter sweet.
ReplyDeleteThere are quite a lot of holiday decorating around The Khottage neighborhood - we've done ours with the TSC wreath and wreath on the front door - that's it!
ReplyDeleteSorry you've not had a visit from The Snow Fairies - be patient!

Hmmmmm. I gather that #1 has ordered me a new Halti. She says I am a menace without one... I'm a good boy, really!

Duke I got a real giggle out of "this was not on my Christmas list".
ReplyDeleteI recall with Marlu was young she was probably thinking the same thing when she opened a package with clothes.
love your Nature Friday

Lulu: "Duke, it looks like you are taking a stroll down Candy Cane Lane today!"
ReplyDeleteI love Bittersweet berries…mainly because it’s a type of Winterberry. But also because growing up I use to visit a place called Bittersweet Farm. It was located in Branford on route 1. Do you remember it? There was a shop that had a kiln that created beautiful glass art by hand. There was a beautiful tea room, that smelled of dried flowers and herbs. There were a couple shops that sold paintings by local artists…there were even some farm animals, like goats. I loved wandering around the shops, looking at all the creations by local artists. I’m still sad they closed down and the property was sold.
ReplyDeleteThat sky doesn't look very happy! I hope you have a fabulous weekend Dandy Duke!
ReplyDeleteMJF also HATED his head collar, but it was the only one that kept him form dislocating petcretary's shoulder joint.
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of bittersweet in our yard and across the street in the wooded areas. Apparently it isn't the native one but an invasive non-native species...oh well, its still very pretty to see the red against all of our snow right now. Gives quite a seasonal feel.
Enjoy your walks, Duke! There is a lot of pretty things to admire out there right now!
You found lots of interesting thing out in nature, Duke. It might not have been on your wish list but your new head collar does look smart on you.
ReplyDeleteIt is very stylish
ReplyDeleteThe sycamore and berries are lovely.
