Woolie Mitch

Guess what?  Mom made a wool penny candle mat and she said that's me on there. Yup, that's my stub tail!   I'm surrounded by apples, my most favorite treat.  For those of you who don't know,  a macintosh is an apple and that's how Macintosh Mitch came to be.
I was a supervisor in the kitchen today.  Last  weekend was dad's timber frame class and on Monday, the tour of barns.  Mom was left with over-ripe bananas and lots of orange juice.
She wondered if there might be a banana bread recipe out there that used oj.  BINGO!

I got to lick the spoon!
 Orange Banana Bread~

Mash 1  1/2 bananas (about 2/3 cup) with 3/4 cup sugar.  Add 1  1/2 Tablespoons vegetable oil and 1 egg.  Then add 1/3 cup orange juice and mix well.
Add 1  1/2 cup flour, 3/4 teaspoon baking powder, 3/4 teaspoon baking soda, 1/4 teaspoon salt and a sprinkle or two of cinnamon.
The recipe called for 1/2 cup chopped walnuts but mom used 1/2 cup of chocolate chips instead.
Bake 325 degrees for about an hour in an 8 X 4" loaf pan.
It was moist and yummy and dad gave it a 10!

I'll help you out in the kitchen anytime you say, mom!

So until next time............

Love ya lots,
Mitch

Sleeping Giant

I got to climb Sleeping Giant again yesterday but this time it wasn't with my sissy and Rocky the Boxer, it was with my dad and mom.

They're beating us to the castle. Move faster, dad!

Mom was so disappointed that she didn't find more wildflowers.
Hey, George.  It's Saturday and I found steps!
So until next time...........

Love ya lots,
Mitch

Court Jester

Mom bought me a new collar and she calls it my court jester collar~

I'm playing dead for my treat before I show you my handsome new collar!
It has my name and phone number carved right into the leather.
I don't look too witty in this picture, do I?  I'm off to do more practicing!
So until next time..........

Love ya lots,
Mitch

True Colors Thursday - PolkaDots

I'm playing True Colors with Reilly once again and this week's colors are polka dots~
The loon works for black and white polka dots~
Nanny used to do decoupage and she made this years ago.  You can't really tell from this photo and all of the coats of varnish, but her dress is purple and white dots.
Our beautiful pillow from Noah and his sissies and their pinkies.  We found yellow and white dots!
The senior lady's blankie is blue and white dotties.
Mom couldn't help herself.  Do I get extra credit for two blue and white polka dot pictures, Reilly?!
This is Gigi. She likes the NY Giants!
Last but not least - our green and white polka dots!  Mom made this a long time ago!
See you all next week!

Love ya lots,
Mitch

Annual Tour of Barns

Today is dad's annual tour of barns day.  It's one of my most favorite days of the entire year because I get to pig out!
Which would you choose - the Dunkin Donut or the banana?
 I thought so~

The ONE donut that was left was chocolate-filled. Why the heck did they buy chocolate-filled?!
Mom ate the chocolate and shared the lemon filling that oozed out of another donut with me.  yummmm
Can we try one of these?

 Cookies?
My Maggie used to love this day.  We're thinking of you sissy and hoping that the Rainbow Bridge is overflowing with Dunkin Donuts without chocolate filling!
This looks like a toy Indian motorcycle.
 How cute!
On the way back to the house I spotted a chipmunk disappearing down this hole.  I'll get you yet you little bugger!
So until next time...........

Love ya lots,
Mitch

Timber Frame Weekend at Crump's

I'm so torn.  I want to help mom make dessert for the new student timber framers and I also want to help dad continue to set up shop for class.   Which would you choose?

Mom is making Blueberry Buckle - well, we need to change the name to Berry Buckle because she used black raspberries, red raspberries and strawberries and no blueberries.
How do you like my awesome tongue curl?

And she also is making Chewy Peanut Bars.
1/4 cup margarine or butter
1 cup peanut butter
1 (14-oz) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups quick-cooking oats (mom used the regular because that's what she had)
1/2 cup coarsely chopped peanuts and 1/2 cup raisins (mom had a trail mix with peanuts and raisins and cranberries in it and that's what she used)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  In large saucepan, over low heat, melt margarine.  Remove from heat; add peanut butter, Eagle Brand milk, vanilla and salt.  Mix well.  Stir in oats, peanuts and raisins.  Spread evenly into greased 13 X 9-inch baking pan.  Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.  Cool thoroughly and cut into bars. Store loosely covered at room temperature.

Timber frame class is going well today.  The weatherman says rain for tomorrow so dad took the safe approach and ordered two tents to keep more timber framers dry.
That's my dad!  He's the timber frame teacher!
I miss my dad.  It's quiet at home without him and he told me that I'd be too disruptive if I came to class.  What?!

So until next time...........

Love ya lots,
Mitch

Noelle

This weekend my dad teaches timber frame class at the Crump barn and he has many assistants that help him.  Uncle Mike, one of the assistants, came down with his new pup, Noelle.
You don't smell like My Maggie and you don't look at all like her.
OMG, she took my marrow bone!

And she's getting comfy with it on my bed!
Excuse me, Noelle. Do you know what you're doing?
Do you want to race around with me and we can act like crazy pups?

After we played here for a bit, we headed over to the Crump barn to continue to set up for class.  Mom didn't go with us so we don't have pictures but I can tell you that Noelle and I had a great time playing together and that when it was time for her to go home,  we were best of friends!
Thank you so much for bringing Noelle with you, Uncle Mike.   She's a fun girl!
What am I doing now?

So until next time............

Love ya lots,
Mitch
