Flower Friday

Mom and dad saw lots of pretty flowers at the Durham Fair and they were so pretty that they won ribbons!
The Dahlias are always winners!
 Mom always loves the Cockscomb!
A paint can for a flower container?!
There must have been a theme that mom missed.   This arrangement came with a used paint brush.
A close-up of the flowers in the above photo.   They are just the coolest!
These mushrooms showed up outside our back door after a brief rain.   They look kinda like lobster's claws.

How strange and kinda creepy!
The Autumn Crocus is in bloom~
Happy Friday☺

The Durham Fair

Mom and dad went to the Durham Fair Friday night.   Did they take us along?  NO!  They made up some fibby story that dogs are not allowed to attend.
The afternoon started with dad having his apple crisp.  He waits all year for that yummy apple crisp!
And the next stop was French fries.   Dad told mom to please remember to wrap a couple of French fries to bring home to us.  Did that happen?  NOPE!

Mom said that walking by the apples smelled soooooo wonderfully fragrant!   We thought of you, Mitch♥
How cute is this decorated pumpkin and it took 1st place!
This is the strangest looking pumpkin that we have ever seen!
 Next came the needlework building~
Autumn at its finest.  Our peeps love covered bridges.
 Our mom adores pansies♥
The cubes on that wall hanging looked like they were going to roll right off!
 They do such beautiful work~
This guy was selling goat soap!
This little girl was showing her cow.
And this one is being shown too by youngsters.    Are you noticing the feets?
They're all polished up for the show!  How cool is that!
We commented how big that cow was and dad asked if she was pregnant.   They told him, no, she's just phat!   How rude!
Obviously, she thought it was pretty rude too!
Excuse us.   Didn't you say NO DOGS ALLOWED!    Mom said that was a service dog and she was working.  hummmmm
You need to remove the sawdust from your face before the judges come around, Miss Bunny!
The piglets are always a hit at the fair.  You normally can't get near them!
This piggy is sleeping in the food dish☺
Don't they feed you?
She must have just come from the beauty shop.   Mom said not a fur was out of place on her head~
 What striking feathers!
And then came the giant pumpkins!
The winner weight 1,642.5 pounds!  WOW!
And the fair is not complete without mom eating her giant sugar donut☺
Look what else mom saw.  Dog treats and lots of them!   She never brings home any for us.
Guess what!
 That is real melted cheese!

Thanks, mom!   We can't wait for the Durham fair next year!

Basic Obedience Graduate

On Wednesday, I graduated from basic obedience class!
I twirled for dad☺
And I gave him my paw.
 And I twirled again!
Do you have treats for this high honors graduate, Miss Sandy?!
I got a stuffy star!  I was trying to decide which one I wanted.     Miss Kathy gave me my diploma and Miss Sandy shared treats and Miss Lee offered me the stuffie.   I sure do love obedience class!

I'll share my treats with you, Molly, but not my stuffie.   Molly has her own diploma so she doesn't need to share mine.
See ---- I can "leave it"!
School's out - no more homework!  Time to snooze!

Flower Friday

We are joining Dory for Flower Friday again☺

This sweet smelling vine is growing along our brook.   The bees and wasps and butterflies just love it.

The Autumn Sedum is blooming away~
We are having a lousy year for tomatoes.   It's got to have something to do with the drought.  Mom is hoping that she can gather enough to make fresh tomato sauce just once.
And we are thinking the geese have something to do with our lack of tomatoes too!
This morning glory is climbing on the tomato plants!
Goldenrod means that Autumn has definitely arrived!
These cute cheerful yellow flowers are growing along the edge of the brook next to the tomatoes.
 I'm still avoiding the hAireCut!

Happy Friday, everyone!
