The Sweater Project

Remember this?  This is the knitting project that mom took with her to Gram's house to stay busy at night so she wouldn't fall asleep during Anderson Cooper~
The baby sweater is for the "bun" who will be born sometime in early May.
It's almost the right size for you, Teddy.   Gee, what happened to your other eye and to your nose?  Mom says that I removed them when I was just a pup!  Can that really be true?
We don't know if "bun" is a girl or a boy so we had fun with the buttons.
Mom loves knitting baby sweaters. She says they take just long enough to complete~

The Spirometer

Dad uses this device every single day - doctor's orders!
It's called a spirometer.  You suck really hard on the mouthpiece and those 3 balls go from the bottom to the top.  It's not so hard to get one or two of them to rise to the top.  Number 3 is the tuffy.
Dad aces them daily.
Molly is afraid the the spirometer and barks at it and backs away from it when dad has it in his hands and is ready to make it work.
There she goes!  Come back, Molly!   It can't hurt you!
These chocolate covered berries were delivered to our house this morning by the FedEx man.  yummmmm
Our evil parents won't share the berries with us but mom did share the pretty bow that was fastening the box closed with Molly.
Big deal, mom!
Our dad continues to heal - one day at a time, dad.  We're right there beside you ♥

The Luckiest

We are the luckiest pups ever!  Not only is our dad home and doing okay but Santa came and brought us so many goodies!  Life is good ♥

This is Molly's first Wubba!
And Santa brought us peanut butter stuffed bones so we can stay busy pups next time we head over to Crumpie's~
And we got antlers  and we got treats!
And we got to lick the beaters for the Christmas Whipped Cream Pie with cherry topping that mom made for dessert.
Unfortunately, the pie looks pretty but it didn't set up correctly.  Mom has made this pie many times before and she thought she had a great idea to put cherries on top to make it look more Christmasy.  Instead of eating the pie on a plate with a fork,  they ate it in bowls with spoons.   It still tasted yummy  but that was not the plan.  She won't make that mistake again!

We hope all of our friends had the most special Christmas ever!  We can't wait to see what Santa brought to all of you!

So until next time..........

We're Helping Mom

Our mom is running errands today and our sissy, Missy, is visiting with dad and keeping him company at the hospital.
One of mom's errands is to drive dad's truck over to Frenette's and pick up our snow blower that was being repaired.  The unfortunate part of this is that mom has to drive dad's pick-up truck, which doesn't exactly make her happy. She says it's like driving a tank!
The fortunate part is that we get to go along and keep her company and make her happy!
I will be the co-pilot and help you any way you need me to okay, mom?
Gosh there are sure lots of snow blowers and lawn mowers being repaired here!
Molly was helping mom out as her look-out on the drive back home.
We made it home safe and sound! The snow blower is in the barn awaiting the next snowstorm!
You can always count on us, mom!
Just to let you know - Wednesday and Thursday were very tough and painful days for our dad.  This morning, dad called mom at 4:30 AM and told her that today was going to be a better day - he was sure of it!   We pray that it is!
Our paws remain crossed that our dad can come home for Christmas!
Thank you so very much for all of your POTP and healing vibes!  It's working!

He's Going to Be Okay

Our mom just got off the phone with CTICU.  Our dad has the breathing tube out and the oxygen is gone and he's raring to go!  Yup, that's our dad!   You can never keep him down for long!
Yesterday was a very long day.  It started at 2 AM when we woke up to no heat in our house.  It was 6 degrees outside and 53 degrees inside the house.  Dad called the oil company and they came out asap and we were back in business in no time at all!

Our sissy was with mom at the hospital from 8 in the morning and all the way till 8 at night.   Mom left the hospital at 2 PM, slip-sliding through the snow to come home to us.  The snow was getting worse as the day went on and she decided to stay home and to chat with our sissy on the phone or email for all of the updates.

Mom will be off to the hospital to visit our dad today.   We wish that we could go with her but she says that would be a real fiasco!  Now what the heck does she mean by that?  We're good pups and we know that Santa is watching!

Thank you so much for all of your thoughts and prayers and positive vibes!   Once again, the power of the paw has worked ♥

Power of the Paw

Our dad is having aortic surgery tomorrow morning.  A graft that was left behind from his Jarvik Heart, which kept him alive until he got his transplant, is infected and needs to come out.    The surgery is long and scary and we are very worried.
Please keep our dad in your thoughts and prayers.   Thank you so much, guys.

Pineapple Upside Down Cake

We had dinner with our neighbors, Don and Donna last night.   Miss Donna decided that she would make the beef stew and we were to make the dessert and they would come to our house and share dindin.    We thought this was a fabulous idea!

Mom has made pineapple upside down cake before but never in muffin tins so she thought it might be fun to try it out and of course, we were only too happy to help her out!

It's brown sugar and butter melted with a pineapple slice and then you pour the batter over.  Mom didn't have any maraschino cherries so she used a walnut half instead.
They're ready for the oven.

And naturally, we got to lick the spoon~

Twenty-five minutes later - out they come and smelling very, very yummy ☺

It was just the right size and everyone raved!      We tried to talk mom into letting us have one each too but she wasn't buying our story.
Just in case anyone would like to see the recipe -click and it will bigify.
Thank you for sharing dindin with us, guys!  We had a great time!   Please, can we do this again soon?!

Snow Fun

We are having lots of fun playing in the snow!
A chipper lives here, Molly!  I know this for fact! Should we dig him up and announce ourselves?!

You are such a goof, Molly!
After we came back inside, we helped mom make goulash for dindin.
The goulash is celery and bell peppers and onion and ground beef and mushrooms and a large can of crushed tomatoes.
Molly and I both got to taste the celery and the bell pepper.
Mom serves the goulash over elbow onies.  We can't wait for leftover onies!

So do you like my pretty pink nails?

 So until next time............

It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This

Our mom is home and I got hugs after Molly and I did happy dances for about 10 minutes!
And Molly got a handshake!  haha   Yes, she got hugs too!    Mom says that Molly's nails look like claws and Santa will not be happy about this!
We got Christmas cards while mom was gone.  Thank you so much Taffy!  You card is beautiful!
And we got a card from our Dragon friend, Dilly, and her Teddy brother, Bob.  You card is just adorable!  Thank you so very much!  We love getting Christmas cards in the mail addressed to us!
And we got a wonderful card from our friend Blue and she sent our mom a fabulous smelling owl lavender sachet.  Mom says you're supposed to put it in your undie drawer but we're going to hang it on the Christmas tree for the season because it's so festive and it smells so nice!
And our Airedale rescue calendar for 2014 came!
This is what mom brought us back from Florida.
It's an ice cream cone ornie  - it's not real!  What a mean trick!
It does look very pretty on the Christmas tree though, mom!

Guess what?  We got snow!  It's not much but it's cold and it's white and it's fun!

Life doesn't get much better than this!

Flowers in December

One of the nicest things about being in Florida in December is seeing so much color!  There are flowers blooming everywhere!
The hibiscus are so beautiful and they all have such huge blooms~

I can't remember the name of this one. It's right in front of mom's house~
 The Bougainvillea are so colorful~

Tree rat alert!
If Mitch and Molly would have been walking with me, this little guy would have been snagged for sure!   He was very trusting and didn't move too quickly.
The Sand Hill Cranes are dancing on this beautiful day~
This horse is being put through his paces~
Isn't this Santa the best!   He lives at the home of Miss Sue and Colonel, the Schnauzer.
This is Colonel. He's high-fiving for a cookie.    Colonel is 11 years old and cute as a button ♥
Miss Sue puts treats on his nose and Colonel has to wait.   He wasn't waiting too long this particular time ☺

Being with Colonel made me miss my pups even more!

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone ♥
