A SuperCold Saturday

This picture was taken around noon on Friday and we needed to check the mail box and do peepee's.   The temps were around 10 degrees F with wind chills below zero.   The wind was whipping and it was COLD!

The sun was out nice and bright but it didn't make us feel warm at all.
Ten minutes was up and it was time to head back inside!

Today is Saturday and it is around noon and temps are in the high teens but with the wind chills, it's around 8 degrees F above zero.  Mom made me wear my snowman scarf for the brief time that we would be outside.

Who knew that my snowman scarf could double as a hat☺
I found some bunny poo to snack on!

The sun is out again, thankfully~
I know - time to head back inside to warm up!

Happy Saturday, everybuddy!

Nature Friday

We are joining Rosy today for Nature Friday~

This photo was taken one morning as we were heading out for our walk.  It was a tease for the snow that we got on Tuesday afternoon and into Wednesday.

We can't believe that the Magnolia has buds!
This is our Lavender.  She sure looks cold in the snow.
We have eleven degrees F this morning with a biting winds below zero.  The wind chimes are very musical today!  Mom says no walkies and no playing outside today.  It's not healthy or safe.
Happy National Puzzle Day!   We'll be puzzling today for sure!

Nature Friday

We are joining Arty this week for Nature Friday~

We walked past Landlord Bob's duck pond and noticed that Miss Laura had taken away the peppermint and replaced it with a heart~

There is not much color to find but we did spot some berries.
The Andromeda has a wee bit of color~
Our cactus is finally blooming.  Christmas is past and Easter hasn't arrived yet so it must be a January cactus!

Mom finished another puzzle.  This was a Christmas pressie from our friend, Miss Laurie.  The artist is Susan Winget.   Mom just loves her work!  Thank you so much, Laurie♥

Happy Friday, everybuddy!

Tasty Tuesday

Mom made whole wheat sweet potato muffins a couple of days ago.    She has made this recipe before and baked it in a loaf pan but this time, she wanted to made muffins.  The batter is exactly the same but she baked the large muffins for 30 minutes instead of the hour in the loaf pan.

I sure do like being the bestest helper in the kitchen!

They smell so yummy~
This muffin is piping hot - right out of the oven.
yummmers~~~~~~~~

Have a terrific Tuesday, everybuddy!

Hardest Puzzle Ever

My sissy gave mom more than one puzzle for Christmas.   This one frustrated her to the max.

First of all, she has never worked a round puzzle before.   It took her FOREVER to get the edge pieces in place and when she was finally ready to get into it, she was completely lost.   She honestly didn't know where to begin.    She knew that the puzzle was available at Amazon and she wanted to read the reviews before she hummed it across the street and into the woods.  The puzzle gets outstanding reviews.  Everyone loves it.   One person posted a photo of starting in the center.   Mom has never started a puzzle in the middle of the frame before but she was so frustrated that she was willing to try just about anything.

There are letters on the back of the puzzle pieces.  They are a helping hand that get you into the vicinity of which side of the circle the piece in your hand is supposed to go.  In the beginning and more than halfway through, she never used the letters on the back.

This photo is days later.    As she's progressing, she realizes that the edges are more of a hindrance than an advantage to her so the edge pieces came off.

Success!
A note to my sissy - you are never allowed to buy mom a puzzle ever again☺

In case anyone wants to know - this is a Bgraamiens  puzzle.    The quality of the puzzle is top notch with nice thick pieces - just very challenging in mom's opinion.  Don't tell anybuddy, but I have a funny feeling that she will be buying another one.   She must be a glutton for punishment ☺

Just to let everyone know.  I don't like these boots!  I don't mind a boot on one foot once in awhile when I've been a naughty girl and have done some licking that I should not have been doing in the first place but four boots at one time is unacceptable!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Tasty Tuesday

We made chicken soup and I helped  A LOT!  The onion and celery went into the broth first.

And then the carrots.
We baked the chicken the day before.   OMD, does it ever smell yummy!
Do you know what my evil mom did to me?  She put the fork almost all the way through my piece of chicken so I would have a harder time getting it off so she could get her stoopid picture!
Spinach bouquet, anyone!
I love eating grass on my walks so way shouldn't I love cold crisp spinach.  What's the difference?!
Mom added chick peas and Parmesan cheese and dinner is done!

Happy Tuesday, everybuddy!

My Ugly Feets

Back in March of 2018, we did a post on my rough foot pads.   The condition is called Hyperkeratosis and it will never go away.   I will have it for the rest of my life.  Before walkies, mom lathers my feets up with Musher's Secret.  This happens 365 days a year - winter, spring, summer and fall.

We are not walking as far as we used to go.    When I want to turn around and go home, I do a perfect heel and mom knows to turn and I can take my time sniffing and going home at my own speed.

Lately, mom has noticed that when she takes me outside on the driveway, I limp and hurry to get on the grass so she knows that this condition is worsening.

Mom and Auntie Lydia exchange emails not long ago and Auntie Lydia is aware of this disease and has treated a pup with it.    She told mom about Tuf-Foot and mom went to Amazon without delay.

And of course, knowing my mom like I do, she got other helpful stuffs as well.

We have been using the Tuf-Foot twice a day and it's been 4 days now and we have noticed  that my pads are softer, less cracked and less dried-out so we will continue to use the treatment and the other moisturizers as well and hopefully, we can walk a wee bit farther and farther if I'm up for it and if not, there is always my lunge line.   Thank you, Auntie Lydia for your very helpful advice!
