We've Finally Recovered

It took us a whole day to recover from our visit with Asta, Stanley and Sophie and their hoomans! We sure did have a great time and they're all invited to come back to visit whenever they want to!
As promised, mom let us open pressies the very next day! whoooooohoooooooooo
I read the lovely Wire Fox Terrier card from Asta................
While Mitch grabbed a tiger rope toy and took off with it! He did come back for the rope ball that he forgot!
You're such a stingy boy, Mitch!Dad had to run an errand and asked Mitch if he wanted to go and I was only too happy to see him leave so that I could take my time and play with all of these fun toys at my own pace!
There were 3 tennis balls that squeaked and they reminded me of Sophie! She played ball in our yard while she was here! Sophie was the only one of us that was allowed off-leash!
Mitch came home way too soon and claimed all of the toys for himself!
We'll just see about that!
Who put that skunk on my back?!
But it wasn't long before we both settled down again with our favorites and caught up on more much-needed rest!
Thank you so very much for all of the goodies, Stanley and Asta! Things have gone back to normal around here and we miss you all! That was one special visit! Come back again soon! We sure love company!

So until next time.....................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

Wheelie Wednesday - Purple

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
I'm in the garden again! Where else, right? It's spring and the garden is so active this time of year with so many pretty flowers blooming!
We decided seeing as there are so many purple ones blooming, to make this a purple post!

The lupines are blooming!
Lots of them! Aren't they just lovely! Mom wants yellow and we don't have that color - yet!

These are johnny-jump-ups! Don't they have the sweetest faces! They look like a mini-pansy!
This is the perennial cornflower! It reminds me of a big spider with many legs!
This is the giant allium! Mom bought the bulb years ago and it's one flower that we look forward to welcoming back every year! It's very tall!We realize this isn't purple but we just had to share it! Mom found this cute double-seater with the umbrella at a garden stand and it was only $19.99 and it weighs about 30 pounds! Is this a bargain or what?! The angel wasn't part of the package. She was living here already and now she has a nice cozy seat to keep watch over the garden!
See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn

What An Awesome Memorial Day

What a day we've had! Asta, Sophie and Stanley didn't arrive at our house till around 1:30PM and by that time it had gotten kinda warm and kinda late to hike Sleeping Giant but we had a wonderful time anyway!
I welcomed Sophie! Mom was a wee bit nervous how the two older girls would get along! No problem! Sophie is a doll! And Stanley and I had lots to chat about!
And we think that Mitch and Asta remembered each other and it's been almost 2 years since they've seen each other! We didn't get a picture of the initial meeting! There was just too much excitement all at once!

We went for a short walkie as soon as everyone said their hellos so we could all calm down and do business!
Stanley and Sophie couldn't wait to jump in the brook and get wet!
What a goober! Why would anyone want to lay in that water? It's wet!
It wasn't long before mom brought out lunch! Geez, it was after 2PM! Poor Asta was starving to death! We all were!
I have to tell you all a secret! I am in love with Sophie! I never wanted to be away from her side! She is just gorgeous and the most regal Queen! Can you see the admiration I have for her?! We're going to have to share, Joey! Okay?!
Is she beautiful or what?! Her eyes are incredible! She is so much prettier in person!
And then there is Stanley! Is he the most handsome boy you have ever seen? What a personality this guy has! I need to tell you another secret! Mom is in love with Stanley! She couldn't keep her hands off him! He is just so darn sweet! And then there's Asta! Is she the cutest most happiest dog you've ever laid eyes on?! Know what? She's a talker just like me! She told Mitch off too many times to count! haha Thanks, Asta!
Sophie's mom was passing out watermelon!
And then came the popcorn!
And there were pressies..................
Only mom says that we're going to wait until tomorrow to open them because we are zonked!
We'll blog about those another day!
Thank you so very much to Asta and her mommi and daddi and Stanley and Lisa and Sophie and Sherry for coming down to to visit us! We had one fabulous Memorial day that we'll never ever forget! That was sure fun!

So until next time................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

We Can't Wait

I'm sure you've all heard by now that Asta and her mommi and daddi, and Stanley and his girl and Sophie and her mom are all coming to visit us on Memorial Day Monday and we're hiking Sleeping Giant! whoooooooohoooooooooooooooo
We have been counting the hours and we can't wait!
Mom has been checking the weather and it looks like Monday will be the perfect day with coolish temps - a fabulous day for a hike!
And after the Giant, we'll come back to our house and have lunchie and playtime!
If anyone else wants to join us, let us know and you're more than welcome to join us!
The more the merrier we Terriers always say! It's going to be a blast!

Look what mom bought for us! This happened on Wednesday night! My popsicle was red and orange only you can't see it because I ate it already! I wanted to help Mitch finish his but mom wouldn't let me!
This is Thursday night! We got them again only this time my popsicle was orange and pink and Mitch's chomped down on his and just held it in his mouth! And he wasn't eating it and it was melting! What a dumdum!
And then he opened his mouth! ewwwwwwwwwwwwww - slobber!
Keep those popsicles coming, mom! We're loving them!

So until next time....................

Love ya lots,

Wheelie Wednesday - Millstones

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
Dad has a real fascination with millstones and whenever he sees one, he buys it which means that most of the time mom needs to find a spot for them in the yard and some of them are not little! This is our newest addition - and this one sits right next to our back door! Can you see all the ridges on this millstone? It was used for grinding grains! This one is actually part of the garden. The diameter is not as large but it's very thick! Yes, it is out of level but it's very heavy and it kinda does whatever it wants too!
I had to jump off my pumpkin wheels to get up here! That's a sundial right next to me! It's almost time for morning tea! This millstone is in a different garden and it's HUGE and it needed a backhoe to move it here - a very large backhoe! This baby is never going anywhere but right here!
The perennial geraniums are in bloom and this pretty iris is stained glass and stays in the garden until autumn! This is chervil! It's an herb but mom doesn't cook with it! It has such a pretty fern leaf and a delicate white flower and it spreads all over the garden! It has an anise flavor when you brush the leaves!
Meet my friend, Jack! He's really Jack-in-the-pulpit! Isn't he the coolest little man ever! He's hiding underneath his leafy hoodie so he never gets wet and he has a built-in sunshade for his eyes! He's one of my very favorite wild flowers!
I hope you enjoyed this week's garden tour!

See you all next Wednesday!
Love, Autumn

Pay Day

Yesterday was pay day! Mom and dad have kept their word!

This just happens to be an eggplant and black olive pizza! yummmmmmmmmmmmm

OMG, smell that aroma!
Mom says we're the best supervisors ever! Guess what?
We got more than just the crust this time! We actually got some of the goodness too!
Can we please make payday more than once a week, mom?!
So until next time.................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch
