We're Celebrating

Three years ago, I met my new brother, Mitch, for the very first time.   Look at that horrified look on his face!
Yes, I do boss him around and tell him when to do it and how to do it and most of the time he listens to me.  Isn't that what sissys are for?!
But one thing is for sure.   I love Mitch, no matter what - forever and ever!
We are also celebrating Mitch's good news.  Mitch went to visit our vet on Tuesday.  He was drinking a whole lot more water than he normally drinks and more often than he normally does plus he was making his water bowl all yucky with excessive drooly and slimy stuffs.   Mom brought them a urine sample and they stole a lot of his blood to run lots of tests.
We heard back from the doctor today.  His peepee is fine and his blood is in great shape.  Mitch has Lyme Disease and we've known this now for several years.  He's had two flare-ups only.  The doctor said that Mitch's Lyme test came back looking much better than before, which is a great thing!    The vet doesn't know why Mitch is drinking more water seeing as everything checks out okay so he put Mitch on Doxy for a month just in case this is another Lyme flair-up and he's taking a pepcid pill to settle his tummy if that's why he has so much extra saliva.

We were at Lenny and Joe's for shrimp rolls and shrimp bisque and french fries and coleslaw.
And then we were off to Durham for ice cream cones!
So we are celebrating bigtime today - my third Gotcha Day and Mitch's good news!  You sure did have mom and dad worried, buddy.  We're so happy that you checked out pretty much A-okay!

So until next time...........

The Tour of Barns

We helped mom prepare gram's recipe for her Sour Cream Coffee Cake for yesterday's tour of barns.

And we helped mom bake a new recipe that she's never made before.  She found the recipe in our Big Y grocery store's health magazine.
This is the ingredients for Orange Chocolate Hazelnut Pinwheels~~
It's 4 ounces of cream cheese, softened
2 Tablespoons chocolate hazelnut spread
2 Tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon orange zest - our mom also added a wee bit of orange extract because she likes intense orange
1 roll seamless crescent dough

Mix the above ingredients~

And then spread evenly on top of the crescent dough.
Tightly roll up  and wrap in plastic wrap and let chill in the frig for an hour.

We got to lick the spatula's☺
Remove roll from frig and discard plastic wrap.  Cut roll with serrated knife, using a back and forth motion, into twelve, 1/4 inch slices.  Lay flat on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 350 degrees for approx 16 minutes.
While still warm but not hot, sprinkle powdered sugar over the top.

Mom says that we can have that big puffy one with very little filling inside.
 yummmmmmmmmmmm

It's Sunday afternoon and we're on our way out to clean up and see what goodies the students left us.
The AireTenacles on the wind sock are calm, Mitch.  They're not going to get you today!

Well, there wasn't a Dunkin Donut to be found, which was a real bummer, but we did find these yummy pretzel sticks~
Yes, please to the watermelon pieces!
Gram's coffee cake was a huge hit - and the pinwheels, not so much.

Timber frame class is behind us now and we're very happy to return to our normal routine and have our dad back~~

So until next time...............

Timber Frame Weekend

This the weekend that our dad has his annual timber frame class.  This year, dad will be teaching class at The Dudley Farm.   This was a restoration project for dad and the Northford Timber Framers and in 2002, they raised this barn.  Angel Maggie was there!

These are some of the other buildings on the property.

 Chickens!
And a turkey who seems to want to be on the inside of the fence~
 Dutchman's Breeches~
And 2 oxen.  We don't know their names.  No one was around to tell us.
 These animals are huge!
And we hear very docile, thank goodness!
Dad and Uncle Dave are setting up the classroom.
We baked a lemon bread for all of the hungry students for the first day of class.
We'll be doing more baking for our Tour of Barns day.

Stay tuned...........

My New Tag

I got a new tag with my face and my name on it!
The daffies are coming into bloom☺
And the hyacinths smell sooooooo pretty!
 The grape hyacinths~
This is a witch hazel too - just a different kind than the spidery flowering tree.
 The bloodroot~
And then we have the Airedale windsock.  Mom took down the flag banner and replaced it with HIM!   He looks pretty innocent, right?
Look what happens when the wind blows.  We're tryin' to come out the back door to pee or go for a walkie, etc, and he touches us with his long tentacles and I don't like it!
Mom says that I need to get over it!  How rude!
So until next time...............

Evilness

Can you even believe this?
The Kong peeps put a small tennis ball inside a larger squeaky ball and it's not supposed to be removed!   We'll just see about that!
Maybe this position will work better~
What an evil thing to do!   Help me, Mitch!
Are your toofies penetrating the outer shell any better than mine did?      Kong made it too rugged, huh!
We'll keep working on it, Molly.
Together, we'll get that ball out for you.  Don't worry!
So until next time..............
