Finally, Some Fun

We've sure had more than our share of rain on our vacation but Saturday early evening it stopped and we headed into town to do some shopping! Do you think we need a Nantucket picnic basket, Mitch?!
The restaurants were busy but the shops weren't! We think all the rain had a lot to do with it!

Saturday wasn't much of a thrill for us and we didn't stay in town too long! Dad was the only one who got ice cream and he did share a tiny bit of Rum Raisin with us! We went to bed hoping that tomorrow would be a dryer and much more fun day for us!
Sunday morning we headed to Surfside beach for our walkie and just as we got home, the sky opened up and it POURED! And it poured for the whole morning!

But early afternoon the sun came out and off to Nantucket center we headed!

We met a doggie that reminded us a lot of Clive but she wasn't very friendly and didn't want us to shop in her store! Heck, we don't like your merchandise anyway!

And we took a walk on the docks and tried to decide which yacht we wished we could own!
This is Chubs! Isn't she just adorable!

Her owner said that he also calls her Ready Freddie! She seems to respond to lots of names! She was a pretty easy-going girl!
We're off to a picnic at Something Natural and then dad says tonight we'll all have ice cream! yahooooooooo

So until next time............

Love ya lots,

We're Connected!

Cousin Dicky wasn't lyin' - we just connected the ethernet cable to the wifi thingie and VOILA! Whooooooooohooooooooooo

Yesterday was exhausting for us! We really were up at 2AM and we arrived in Hyannis around 6:45AM and we did have time to pee and poo before the M&Mmobile drove aboard the ferry bound for Nantucket!
Please bear with us with the pictures! Dad has a new laptop and a new picture program and all of this new stuff is overwhelming to our computer challenged mom!

We don't have many highlights to share at this point! We did get to walk down to the beach in the afternoon and it was so exhausting for me that I almost had to be carried up the stairs into the house! But as you can see, dindin fixed me right up and I'm back to my old self!

We haven't strolled down Main Street yet and we haven't yet had one taste of ice cream and seeing as today is raining like there's not tomorrow, we don't know yet what our next move will be!
But we're safe and dry and happy and together and we're on vacation so mom says we're going to roll with the punches and take it as it comes!

So until next time.............

Wavin' our paws at ya from Nantucket,

We're On Our Way

We were up at 2 AM this morning so mom could finish packing the car and give us breakie before we set off! We have an appointment with a ferry in Hyannis at 7:30AM but before we board, we have to do business so we have a comfy 2 hour and 20 minute ride to Nantucket!
Dad has his new laptop all packed and ready to go and cousin Dickie tells us that he has high speed on the Island and it's a wi fi hook-up and all we need is an ethernet cable! You all know what a computer dummy our mom is! So hopefully between mom and dad, they can figure out how to work all of this stuff this is totally new to them and we can blog from Nantucket!
It will be a surprise to all of us if they can pull it off!

The camera is at mom's hip and will be for the whole trip so we'll get lots of pictures to share!
Our paws are crossed that we can keep in touch!

We're already missing you!

So until next time......................

Love ya lots,

True Colors Thursday - Sky Blue

True colors Thursday rolls around once again! If you want to play, let our hostess, Blue, know!
This is the blue sky over the farmer's corn field on our walkie!
And this is the same blue sky further into our walkie! This is our 7AM sky!
This is a painting of our red barn! Didn't the artist do a great job on the blue sky?!
That's dad at a barn raising in Charlotte, Vermont! No way would you catch our mom wayyyyyyy up there against that blue sky!
This weathervane is on our dad's workshop barn! It's an eagle against the sky blue sky!
This weathervane is against the blue sky on dad's lumber barn! It's a trotter horse!

This is a painting that unfortunately we do not own and it was painted by one of our very favorite artists who is also our friend, Marieluise Hutchinson! Her paintings always have the most magnificent skies! We couldn't resist this one - a sky blue hydrangea flower!
Next week's color is RAINBOW !

So until next time...............

Wheelie Wednesday - Nantucket Vacation

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
Mom has put me in charge of getting Maggie and Mitch packed for their Nantucket vacation! They leave the day after tomorrow!

The beach umbrella and the chairs are all ready to be packed into the trunk!

I bet you guys are really excited about feeling sand beneath your toes!
It's been a real battle deciding which toys to take! Mom says they can't take them all so we're narrowing it down and it hasn't been easy!
You guys sure have lots of toys!
Maggie and I have been deciding on which collars to bring! Mom says that Mitch can't wear his leather collar just in case he wants to swim so that one will be staying home. She bought him new Boomerang tags to keep him safe!
I think we've made wise collar decisions, don't you, Maggie?I'm really going to miss the family while they're gone but I do have plans to spend lots of time in the garden weeding and pruning and I'll also have lots of time for reading with a nice cup of tea! Does anyone care to join me?
Look what's blooming near the vege garden!
I had my doubts that we'd see sunflowers this year because it's been such a strange year!
Aren't they glorious!
See you in a couple of weeks!

Love, Autumn

Our Newest Painting

Our most favorite artist has once again painted what we consider to be a masterpiece! Didn't Miss Barbara do an awesome job?!

Does this painting remind you of anyone?
It wasn't exactly the easiest thing to photograph but you get the idea! It's just beautiful in person! How the heck does she make the goblets look like glass in the painting? It's magic! And we just love the watermelon trim along the top!

Where are we going to hang it, mom?
We need to decide soon!
Friday we leave for Nantucket and we've been helping mom pile stuff for our trip!
The first thing that happened this morning is that I got groomed! No sweating on the beach for me!
We need to run~
There's lots to do to get ready before our trip! We are so excited and just can't wait!

So until next time...................

Love ya lots,

EyeWatch Friday and OOPS

Today is Norwood's eyewatch Friday!
This is what we're watchin'!
We're both begging for cantaloupe! yummmmmmmm
Cocoa and Barley nominated us the the "oops, I ate it award"! Is this just the most perfect award, or what?!
Thank you so very much, guys! We are totally honored!

Okay so here are the rules to this award:

"When accepting this award, you must blog about the food you have stolen when your humans were not watching.
If you have never stolen any food, you must have been a really good pup! You can accept this yummy tray of cookies as your reward! Next add the logo of this award to your blog (optional), then nominate at least 5 other furry blogs and let them know by leaving a message on their blogs."

I, Miss Maggie, am usually a VERY good girl and pretty much the only foody items I snag are ones that fall on the floor and I have to be QUICK or that nasty Mitch swoops in and snags it right before my very eyes!
What I do steal right before the hooman's eyes are paper towels and kleenex and if they're used or dirty, they're so much better! What can I say - I just can't help myself!

I, Mitch, do not eat paper goods but I do steal food when the situation presents itself! I stole a chocolate diet bar from Miss Suzanne and almost gave mom a coronary!
And one day, we had company come to our back door while mom was preparing our dindin. Naturally mom forgot about dindin preparation and started yaking away to Miss Laura and I decided to countersurf MY dindin! Hey, it was mine, right?! I did nothing wrong!

We have to choose 5 pups to pass the award to and mostly all of our friends are big foodies!
1. Mango and Dexter
2. Tank
3. Huskee and Hershey
4. Inky and Molly
5. Woodrow, Sweetie and MJ

So until next time..................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

Wheelie Wednesday - Everything Orange

Hi everybody! It's me, Autumn!
Maggie and Mitch get to play Blue's true colors Thursday every week and I'm so jealous because it looks like such fun so today I've decided to play and the color that I chose is orange!

Orange is pretty easy this time of year because we have so much of it in the garden! I have orange in my hat and orange carrots on my bandana and I'm among lots of orange zinnias!
These nasturtiums are a beautiful orange!
And I have to show you the trumpet vine! It's finally coming into bloom! Come along with me!

Way back here in front of dad's lumber barn is the trumpet vine and we moved the orange gazing ball back here so hopefully the orange flowers would be more noticeable in all of these green leaves!
This is the orange trumpet flower up close! They're big flowers and the hummingbirds love them!
Our swan, Dauby has an orange beak!
Check out this orange tomato! I see a face and nose!
This variety is called Fourth of July and I'm thanking him bigtime because so far he's the only variety that we're picking in the garden and eating! The other tomatoes are still green!
That was fun playing true colors!

See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn
