Saturday before Easter Sunday

First off, we have to tell you that on Thursday evening, the UPS man rang our doorbell to let us know that he had made a delivery.  I was pleasantly sleeping away and didn't even hear the doorbell.   The UPS man delivered a package from our longtime blogging friends, Miss Phyll and her Cattledog, Willow.   They sent me an Easter basket!!!!!  How generous and thoughtful is that!

Inside the brightly colored bag are handmade treats from Kerri's Pawsome Bakery, where Miss Phyll and Willow visit all the time!  Miss Kerri calls my Easter basket - the Hazel box.
These treats smell so yummy!    Miss Phyll told mom to try one as these treats are made with hooman grade ingredients.
Yes, please!!!!!
Thank you so very much, Miss Phyll and Willow♥    You have made one little AireGirl very happy and I have more treats for a DAYS to come!
Let's get Nonna's Rice pie going, mom!

If you don't like to make pie crust and you like a simple and easy pie to make that works for Easter or any summer day, this is the pie for you.

Mix together:
1 pound ricotta
3/4 cup sugar
4 eggs
Approx 1 cup of whole milk (mom uses a little on the lesser side of a cup)
1 cup cooked and cooled rice
1 teaspoon vanilla, a dash of rum extract and a few shakes of cinnamon.

Stir it all together in a bowl with a spoon.   EasyPeasy, right!   Pour mixture into a greased 8" X 8" pan or pie plate.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 50 minutes to one hour depending on your oven.  It could go a wee bit longer and mom always puts a knife in the center to be sure it's done.

Come on, mom, enough about the recipe!
Official bunny taster at your service!
Thank you so much for not liking Nonna's Rice pie, Francesca!  I don't need help with the tasting!
The original plan was that mom and I were invited to my sissy's house for Easter but because of all of my recent issues,  Missy and mom decided to have Easter at our house and we will be celebrating today!

The pie is ready and waiting, Missy.    See you soon!

Nature Friday

We are joining Rosy and Sunny this week for Nature Friday~~

No walkies have happened lately but we do have blooms in our yard~

The Periwinkle patch is going nuts with flowers!

The Hyacinths are still blooming.   Picture mom with her nose buried in the flowers and her butt in the Aire and you would be right.   How I wish I knew how to operate her camera!
Our crazy Christmas Cactus is flowering!
Happy Friday, everybuddy!

Molly Monday

Do you see that I have two socks on two different feets?     I don't lick up inside my pads anymore and make it raw.   Now I've decided to just eat the pads off my feets.    Mom says it smells gross and looks sore and horrible and we are washing my feet twice a day trying to keep them from getting infected.

Destroying my pads has me limping longer and it takes longer to heal.    Mom finally gets one foot healed and I start in on another one.
My vet doesn't want me to wear socks.   He wants the Aire to be able to get at my feet but the carpeting is abrasive and hurts my feet and the grass hurts my feet and the driveway hurts my feet.   Mom doesn't want me to wear the Kong donut 24/7 but what choice does she have.   Walking in the neighborhood is impossible and springtime is here and the weather is going to get nicer and she wants to walk - but not without me.

You can't hear me, but I'm snoring in this picture.   My hearing is not as sharp as it used to be so mom is able to sneak up on me with the camera.

Yesterday, she shopped on Amazon for larger cotton crew socks and some sort of self-adhesive pet wrap.     We will be calling my vet again today.    Mom is pretty much at wits end.

Happy Monday, everybuddy.

Nature Friday

We are joining Rosy and Sunny this week for Nature Friday~~

This has been an interesting week for sure.   You all know that we had the paw licky issue earlier.   It finally cleared up and we were able to walk~

The Andromeda is in bloom~
Mom shot this daffy from the underside~
She picked Hyacinths that are in bloom in our yard and brought them inside so she could bury her nose in them hourly♥
Wednesday, we saw my vet for my monthly Librela injection.  Mom has been reading the book we posted about on Monday.  It's a fabulous book with lots of help and suggestions.  Mom was very interested in discussing the supplements that Eileen Anderson wrote about in her book.  The vet techs didn't want to hear about her supplements- grrrrrrrrrrrr- but the vet did suggest that I take all of my CBD oil pills at night instead of two in the morning and two at night.   We did that and I did stay off my feets and rested. We are hopeful that this will continue.  I'm not sure if the calming collar or the calming treats are working but we are wearing the collar and I get 2 treats every night.
What we haven't told you yet is that I attacked my other front paw and I'm back to having it washed twice daily and wearing a sock.   Can you see that arrow behind me?   The arrow is pointing to the Kong donut.   If I'm a good girl and leave my sock alone, I can stay donut free.
I'm trying my hardest to be a good girl!
Happy Friday, everybuddy!

Molly Monday

We had an issue last week.   Mom groomed me on Tuesday and that night, I decided to lick my paw raw - AGAIN!   Sadly, because I am up a lot during the night with the dementia, my paw really doesn't get the time it needs to heal.     We can say that as of yesterday, I was hardly limping at all but there was still a wee bit of blood on the inside of my sock.

She continuously searches for internet help and suggestions and we did find a site that suggested the NatureVet Quiet Moments and the Calming collar and mom found a book that she decided that she had to have.

She put the collar on me immediately.   It smells pretty - like lavender and hopefully it helps to calm me at night.    We will give the chews a try too to see if they make can a difference.

Paws and fingers are crossed here~~

Happy Monday, everybuddy!

Nature Friday

Mom groomed me on Tuesday.   It was a two hour process and her back hurt and I was pooped but the first thing I did was ask for a walk.   Mom couldn't believe her eyes when I brought her my tug toy.   The tug toy is my way of telling mom that it's time for my walk.

We found a beautiful crocus blooming at the end of the driveway!
I found a red hydrangea flower in the street.   We had wild winds a couple of days and this poor lady's flower arrangement got destroyed.
Our Lenten Roses are looking so pretty and the hyacinths are beginning to come into bloom☺
As always, our thanks to Rosy and Sunny for hosting Nature Friday!
Happy Friday, everybuddy!

Nature Friday

We are joining Rosy this week for Nature Friday~~

We saw the sun on my birthday and that was the last day.  It's been rainy and cloudy and dreary.   Hopefully, we see the sun today.

Mom has been to the nursery many times to see color and pretty flowers.    She came home with two more African Violets.

She broke down and bought herself a moth Orchid~
And on Wednesday, she came home with this colorful and gorgeous Clivia!   Now to keep them all alive and blooming!
This was her latest puzzle.   It drove her CRAZY but it was fun recognizing so many characters that she grew up with.
She says that it will be stored and one day, she will work it again.
Happy Friday, everybuddy!

Tasty Tuesday

As promised - I got to have ice cream for hopefully, my on-going birthday.    No licky mat and no saucer, mom~

*note from mom - dementia has changed Molly in so many ways.  She would have never been this particular in the past*

Much better when you hold it for me, mom.  What a nice card Chewy sent me.  Thank you, Chewy!
I can take it from here, mom~
Mom always asks me, "Was it good, Molly?"   I show her my fabulous smile every time♥
Happy Tuesday, everybuddy!
