Stocking Winners

Congratulations to Penny, Poppy and Patches and Mona and her Mommy and Woodstock and Asta!

You all guessed right on Mitch's favorite fruit! Yes, it's the apple! He is VERY nutty about them!

And my most dreaded fruit - really my most dreaded food in the whole wide world is that nasty yellow lemon! YUK! BTW, Gussie - Mitch LOVES lemons as well as apples! Isn't he a complete sicko?! They're so sour and nasty! Why were they even invented?!

Who else out there likes lemons?

You gotta read this cute poem that our buddy, Dewey Dewster wrote to us:

It's apples 'n lemons....that answer is true.

Here's hopin' that Mitch gets more than a few...

But as fer the lemons, to that we'll we say nay...

N hope that instead, ice cream comes yer way....

Thank's Dewey! We love it!! I knew I had a true friend in you! You're an awesome poet, by the way!

Autumn and mom will be wrapping up your stockings and mailing them off to the first four winners! Thank you everyone for guessing along! Mitch and I are thinking that you all know us pretty darn well! We'll make sure that mom keeps on knitting more stockings!

So until next time...............

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

True Colors Thursday - Pink

Today is Thursday and we get to play Blue's True Colors again! If you've never played, you really have to! It's oodles of fun! Just let Blue know you want to play and she'll give you her blessing and you're in! I rounded up a lot of my pink toys! I do have quite a few, don't I! I even have a pretty pink collar that was given to me by Oscar the Airedale. He also gave me the leash to match this pretty collar! Oscar has gone to the Rainbow bridge but I'll never forget him! Not ever! He was one special boy! Who thinks this is funny?
Come on, mom! Certainly you can find other things that are pink?!
Mom even let me pose with one of her pink dollies!
Mitch wanted to contribute something pink too!

Have a perfectly pink day everyone!

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

Wheelie Wednesday - Stocking Give Away

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn! You all know that mom is nutty about knitting these cute little Christmas stockings and she and I have decided to give them away to 4 lucky winners, which means that 4 of you will have a tiny Christmas stocking for your tree next year!

All of you have to do is to answer two VERY easy questions in the comment section of this posting and the first four doggies that get the answers right are the winners! If you participated in the Christmas card exchange this year then we already have your snail mail address and if not then you'll have to send us your address so mom can mail you your stocking. Our email address in on our sidebar.

Question #1 - What is Mitch's very favorite fruit in the whole wide world?

See how simple! We don't think anyone will need clues to this question!

Question #2 - What is Maggie's most HATED fruit in the whole wide world? When mom offers her this nasty fruit she turns away and really has hurt feelings that mom would even do such an awful thing to her!

One, two, three - GO! Good luck doggies and hammies and kitties!

Here's mom's latest project all finished! Squirt is sizing it up hoping the sweater will fit him!

See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn

Miss Poodle Leg

Yes, I know! My brat of a brother called me Miss Poodle leg! He is one rude boy! If he had to go through surgery and knew what it involved, he wouldn't be calling me that! I'm all better now though and you can bearly see that my booboo mole ever existed!

But, I've discovered that having a Poodle leg is not that bad! It actually has its advantages! Now that my fur is shorter in my wrist area I can wear a watch and let mom and dad know that it's time to get their coats and hats and gloves on so that we can get going on our walkies!
And if I need to be more of a girlie and get dressed up for a special ocassion, I can rummage though mom's jewelry box and wear some of her pretty gold bangle bracelets and they'll be noticed because I'm less furry on my leggie!
Look at this pretty cloissone bracelet that I found! It's black with pretty flowers and it's quite striking! I really like this one! Buff likes it too! Mitch thinks that this buffalo stuffie is his but Buff likes me better because I'm not so rough on his body with my teethies!

Check out this unique bracelet that I found while I was snooping! Mom's great aunt gave her an antique sewing machine years ago before my sissy was even born and this lacy crocheted bracelet was in one of the drawers! It even has pretty embroidery on it and and button too! It's a PERFECT fit! It's ME, don't you think?!

Wait till Mitch sees it! I'm sure he'll be green with envy that he doesn't have a poodle leg too!

So what do you think, Mitch? Pretty snazzy, right? Do you still want to call me Miss Poodle leg?!

So until next time...................

Love ya lots,

Beard Winner Pressies

Hi everybody! It' s me, Mitch! I got a pressie in the mail Friday from Stanley and Stella for winning the most improved beard competition!

Maggie's name was on the package too but we know who the real winner is, don't we?! *wink wink*Mom always makes us read the card first! She says that's the polite thing to do!
We love both of your smiling faces on your card, guys!OMG, Maggie! It's an awesome tug toy! Grab a hold of it and let's play!

Okay, okay, you read the card and tell me what it says! I'm listening!

Are you done yet?! Let's get to the IMPORTANT part! The toys!

Hey, you really look great in your new buffalo fur coat, Maggie, but you're wearing MY gift!
Stanley said we had to share, Mitch, and I want the buffalo stuffie! You already have the tug toy around your neck! You can't have both toys, you unsharing little PIA!
Excuse me! Tell me again who the first place winner was?!
I guess we're just going to have to work this out, aren't we, Miss Poodle leg!

Thank you so very, very much, Stanley and Stella! We both had a blast growing our beards for your annual competition! You guys really know how to pick out the best stuff at the store too! It's just perfect! Thank you!

Maggie and I are discussing the possibility of making apple cider come September! It could be just the thing for growing longer and more lucious beards!

We'll keep you all posted!

So until next time...............

Life On A Leash

Mom got an email a few days ago and we were offered a free movie to watch! The movie is called, "Life on a Leash" and all we had to do was send this nice lady our snail mail address and she would send us the DVD to watch and report on!

It arrived a couple of days ago! We tried to get mom and dad to make some popcorn to go with the movie but they didn't buy the idea! Bummer!

This is our buddy, Kong! Isn't he handsome! Mitch and I actually thought that the movie was too focused on the hoomans and not on the dogs! Kong did meet up with a Border Collie friend who looked just like our buddies, Fenway and Holly and Zac so that part of the movie was really fun and interesting!

Then the unthinkable happened! Mom looked over at Mitch and he was out like a light! And she glanced down at me and I had my paw over my ears!

Mom and dad definitely got more out of this movie than we did! Stella, the star of the movie, wanted a life and what she got was a dog! A giant stray dog, named Kong, appeared out of nowhere and adopted her. Mom and dad thought the movie brought out lots of different emotions. It was funky in lots of spots and humorous from time to time. It was an okay movie!

If anyone would like to see it, let us know and we'll mail the DVD to you so you can watch it too!

BTW, the Italian pastries are now all gone and guess who didn't get any?! Yup, you guessed right!

So until next time..............

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

Thank You, Snow doGs

It seems like every couple of days our prayers are answered and the snow doGs dump more snow on us! Mom and dad are tired of shoveling the white stuff but we never get tired of it! It is just SO MUCH FUN!!!We can't remember the last time we saw the grass! Who cares! We'll take as much as you can manage oh great and powerful snow doG! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!We love seeing who can get the most snow on their face!
I win, Mitch!Guess what mom did today? She brought a dishful of snow inside for Mitch to eat! That boy likes to eat snow almost as much as he likes to eat apples!Check out these icicles! We're watching them grow longer by the day! We're waiting for them to touch the ground so we can help ourselves! Our friend, Harold came to visit last night and look what he brought us!

Um, well - he actually didn't bring them for us - he brought them for mom and dad but there are 12 Italian pastries in there so certainly they can share with us, right?!

So until next time..............

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

True Colors Thursday - Turquoise

We've never played the Blue's True Colors Thursday! This is our very first time! We thought turquoise would be a really fun color and we wanted to go on a house hunt to see what we could come up with!Check out my turquoise earring! I don't have pierced ears so mom sorta just laid it on my fur near my ear! Maybe I should think about getting my ears pierced? Mom does own a lot of earrings and she shares, not like SOME doggies I know!Mitch is stylin' with two of mom's turquoise rings! She tried to put one on each toe but Mitch wouldn't cooperate! Too girlie for him, I guess! This tea set used to belong to gram when she was little and now it belongs to mom!Gram and gramp gave this book to mom for Christmas ages ago when she was a youngster! The book is now an official antique! heheheheThis is the top of our country cupboard in the family room! Pay no attention to the dust! We're not expecting company so mom says there's no need to dust! It's one of her most hated chores! Dad and his buddies head to Maine a couple of times a year and dad always brings mom a gift. He's very thoughtful that way!

This is one of Carol Usher's WoolieDales and she's on the pretend beach with her turquoise beach blankie! Surfside is the closest beach to us when we stay on Nantucket for a week! Mom told us to hold off on the packing for now! We still have a 6 months wait! Hey, that was so much fun! Thanks for letting us play True Colors, Blue!

So until next time.................

Wheelie Wednesday - Stockings and Mittens

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn! Mom has been knitting every single night! She's obsessed with these mini-Christmas stockings!
I now have 4 of them - one for each tootsie!
Mom says I look like a ballerina standing on my toes!
I think I'm going to need to build a peg rack for all of these stockings if she keeps cranking them out!
Two nights ago she took a break from the stockings and I now have a new pair of red mittens!

Maggie asked if she could borrow them for her morning walkie! hummmmm I don't think they're going to fit you, Maggie! I bet if you ask mom she'll knit you a larger pair in whatever color you want!

Did I mention the word "sickness"?
Now she's making a stocking in 3 different colors, not just 2! Whatever makes you happy, mom!
Remember Maggie and Mitch's rockie collection? Guess what? I have one of my very own too! It has a sunflower on it! See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn
