Nature Friday

We are joining Rosy this week for Nature Friday~

The money plant is so pearly white and pretty!

We found a white blooming phlox.   It doesn't smell as fragrant as the pink variety.
The garden orbweaver spider is back~

Mom took the first photo and he started to bounce his web.   We tried to find info to see if this is what they do but we didn't find anything.   It sure is funny looking and mom, being as puter challenged as she is, couldn't figure out how to post the video upright so we apologize.

Happy Friday, everybuddy, and no mom - I do not need a hAireCut!

Love ya lots♥

So Grateful

We feel so fortunate and grateful that Henri went easy on us.   We never lost our power and it wasn't too scary.

Mom had the AireConditioner back in the window by just after seven this morning.

The only real damage we got was lots of apples on the ground and the deer and woodchucks will be thankful for those.

The outside photos are a strange color because the sky is dark and ominous looking.   The rain is expected to come back through Connecticut today - heavy at times with slight breezes.  Paws and fingers remain crossed that the poor saturated trees that made it through yesterday, won't decide to topple today.

Thank you all so much for your support.   We can feel the love♥

Hurricane Henri

Hurricane Henri will be visiting us tomorrow and mom is not happy about it.  This morning she did all of the laundry and when we came home from walkies, she took out the AireConditioner in the bedroom.   She didn't think it would be a great idea to have it hanging out of the window to get whipped around by Henri.     We have a portable ac unit in the living room and she will be monitoring it throughout the storm.  If she gets nervous at all, she'll pull the exhaust hose inside the house and close and lock the window.

The weather peeps are saying that there will be lots of downed trees because our ground is already soaked from all of the rain that we have been having.     And this could mean no AireConditioners and no fan and no electricity!  We're all set with water and everything else we can think of.
Mom made chicken cutlets this morning.   It will be tonight's dinner and it will work for tomorrow too if we should lose power.  We're praying that we don't but better safe than sorry.

She has lots of puzzles to keep her busy~
And books to read too~

We're off to vacuum the basement - just in case we lose power and it's cooler down there than it is upstairs.

We'll be back as soon as we can be!

Nature Friday

We are joining Jakey this week for Nature Friday~

In our back yard, the Queen Anne's Lace is in bloom~

The berries on the holly bushes are starting to take on pretty color~

Along our walk, we spotted Jewelweed in bloom~
My sissy gave mom her most favorite scented flower of all for Mother's Day and it FINALLY has a bloom on it.   Mom cut it and brought it inside and she has sniffed it at least 30 times and she smiles every single time!

Roses for you, Rosy!

Happy Friday, everybuddy!

Molly Monday

We have mentioned before about my sore cracked paws that were making it harder and harder for me to go on walkies.   A couple of months ago, mom was reading an article online about hyperkeratosis and dogs with this condition having an issue with absorbing zinc.  The article directed us to a mineral called Boreal.  It's not cheap to buy but mom has tried so many things hoping that just one of them would be helpful.

Guess what - it is working!  My paws are so much better than they were!   The directions are one tablet per twenty pound dog and I weigh 70 pounds but mom decided to give me one tablet per day in the beginning and one table has been working for me!

No more shortened walkies because of sore paws!

We ordered the Boreal from DogFoodDirect and they sent me a package of 2 treats and mom got a coupon for 25% off.  How wonderful is that!

Boreal has sure been a blessing for us!     Have a marvelous Monday!

Gifts For Me

Auntie Lydia's furBoy, Reacher, was twelve years old on July 31st.   Reacher had a giveaway for his birthday and I was one of the winners!   The mailman delivered a big envelope yesterday afternoon!   Reacher sent me a seahorse that makes the most amazing musical noises!  Mom loves the monkey card because it makes her think of angel Dave.   She met Dave when she visited Auntie Lydia a few years back and he was just the sweetest AireBoy ever♥

I love my yummy cheese cookies, Reacher!

Thank you so much, Auntie Lydia and  handsome birthday boy, Reacher!  You are always so generous and you sure do know what a girl likes!  Bestest friends forever♥

Tasty Tuesday

Mom was hungry for mac-n-cheese and she looked online for a new recipe to try out.

We cut this recipe in half and used an 8" X 8" pan.

Of course I got to sample both cheeses♥

The ingredients:
• 3 cups dry elbow macaroni
• 4 Tbsp salted butter
• 2 (370 mL/12 oz) cans evaporated milk
• 1/3 cup milk of choice
• 2 large eggs
• 1/4 tsp garlic salt
• 4 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
• 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
• 1 tsp paprika

 DIRECTIONS :

1) Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add salt and macaroni, and cook until al dente.
2) Drain and return to the pot.
3) Add in the butter and stir until the butter is melted. Set aside.
 4) In a large bowl, mix together the evaporated milk, milk, eggs and garlic salt until fully combined.
5) In a separate bowl, mix together the cheeses.
 6) Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly spray a 9×13 inch baking pan.
7) Layer 1/3 of the macaroni, then 1/3 of the cheese.
Repeat with the remaining macaroni and cheese mixture.
9) Pour the milk mixture over top. Sprinkle the paprika evenly on top.
 10) Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.
Mom says that it wasn't the best mac-n-cheese she's ever had.  It wasn't cheddar cheesy enough and she thinks the mozzarella probably "watered" it down.      It was good and it was creamy but she won't be making this recipe again.
I thought it was wonderful!
Happy Tuesday!

Nature Friday

We are joining Rosy this week for Nature Friday~

We walked past Mr Mike's house a few days ago, and his pretty dahlias were all in bloom~

The scent of phlox is so wonderful as we walked past~
The Indian Pipes are back!  We haven't seen them since 2018 when we moved to our house here and now they're back and mom is so psyched!
The magnolia in the back yard surprised us with another pretty flower~
Earlier in the week, Mackie was here for groomies!

Happy Friday, everybuddy!

Teasing Me Tuesday

My mom loves to tease me.

And then she lets the curtain fall.     At least we had nice breezes so I could get underneath to fetch my beloved ball.

Have a terrific Tuesday!
