The Ding Dong Man

OMG, Mitch! The ding dong man is across the street from our house! That's what mom used to call the ice cream truck when she was a little girl!

There's a birthday pawty happening over there! Should we crash it?!

Those kids are all getting ice cream! Mom is going to let us go over there too, right?

I wonder what kind of ice cream he carries on that neat truck?

OH NO! He's backing out to leave! We've got to hurry mom! Grab some money P-L-E-A-S-E!!!!

OH NO, Maggie! I think he's leaving and we didn't get any ice cream! This is just horrible! I can't believe this is happening! OMG, he's driving away! W-A-I-T!!!!!

I need to hold my leash for comfort, Maggie! I can't believe this happened! I'm so stressed! He was so close! I can almost taste that ice cream!

Do you think he'll come back soon, Maggie? I sure hope so!

So until next time..............

Meet Kodiak and Falcon

Our friends, Kodiak and Falcon are blogging! Our moms have been email friends for years! They met on the Yahoo Airedale list and liked each other instantly!

Kodiak's mom is an artist and she's one talented lady! Check out what she made for me and mom a few years back. She carves walking sticks and all sorts of neat stuff!

She also paints and she runs lots of contests on our Airedale list and we just happened to be the winners of this awesome denim patch that she painted! Mom still hasn't decided what to sew it on. It's gotta be something REALLY special!

Kodiak just got a new baby brother named Falcon and he is the cutest thing ever! Can you smell that puppy breath?!

He's got a Wubba already! We say that he's being broken in the right way! What do you guys think?! When you get a chance, please stop by and say hi to our new blogging buddies!

So until next time.............

Our Trip to Rhode Island

We left for Rhode Island late yesterday morning! Mom packed our dindin and a cooler of water and off we went! The plan was to have fish-n-chips and clam cakes at Captain Jack's in Point Judith early afternoon! Seeing as it was almost noon and dad didn't want to spoil his appetite for our picnic, he decided to have a snack on the road! You're going to share some of that, right, dad? Remember how much I LOVE apples - all fruit actually!

Our first stop was the Harley Dealership in Exeter, RI. Dad's very good friend, Dana, manages the shop there! Dana is the nice man who sent Guinness to mom and Guinness is the one who's sweet on Autumn! Dana gave us a Harley Davidson rope bone! Wasn't that so sweet of him? It kept Mitch occupied till we got to Captain Jack's!

OMG, mom! Your lunch looks so yummy! Mom and dad ate clam cakes until they were both stuffed!
This was our picnic view! Dad spent summers on Point Judith with his family when he was just a kid. He loves it here so today was a pretty special trip for him! We had a beautiful breeze and it was overcast - the perfect day for a fun trip!

We had the most fun day! Thank you so much Dana for our new Harley bone! I can tell you already which one of us thinks it's HIS!

I know you're not seeing ME in any of these pictures but I really was there! I spent 90% of my time staring out the open back window and catching all the beautiful breezes and the wonderful smells!

We discovered when we came home that our dear friend, Baby Love has passed! We are so very, very sad. Baby Love was one special girl and we will greatly miss her. Run free, Baby Love! We love you!

We Met Mrs. Turtle!

Last night around 7PM mom took us on our peepee and poopoo walkie and guess who we just happened to meet? Mrs. Turtle!

Mom says she's pretty sure it was a girlie looking for a spot to lay her eggs!

Poor Mrs. Turtle ended upside down so mom had to do some fancy footwork to turn her over before Mitch flipped her again!

So far our walkie has been pretty exciting! The Honeysuckle is blooming over by our small pond and mom just LOVES the smell of it! She says she can never get enough of it's delightful fragrance!

We finished up our business and decided to go back the way we came so we could see how Mrs. Turtle was making out!

OMG! Where did she go? She's nowhere to be found! I guess she won't be laying any eggs in our back yard!

So until next time..............

Wheelie Wednesday - Lavender

Hi everybody! It's me, Autumn!

The lavender is in bloom! Mom and I have been outside for a few days now cutting lavender flowers and the oils from the plants are getting all over my fur and I smell so pretty!

One of the first things we made was lavender vinegar! Mom has never made this before and she wanted to see if the vinegar would turn a pretty shade of purple like the chive vinegar turned pink, but it didn't. The vinegar only smells like lavender - it didn't change color!

Mom has a trunk full of wool yarn that she uses to knit the purses that she felts and she uses the lavender as a moth repellent so her wool stays safe from those flying buggies! So far, so good! We've never had a moth problem and the inside of the trunk smells really nice!

We're planning on trying our hand at these lavender wands. Mom has never made them but she's always wanted to! This is not our photo. It came off the lavender wand website!

Guess who stopped by to visit me today and bearing a bouquet of lavender, I might add! Johnathan! Thank you! How very sweet of you!

And did you all see the beautiful garden bandana that Patience and her Whippets gave me for Maggie's early birthday pressie? Thank you so very much! You guys are too nice! I really appreciate it! I think it's so special that my sissy and I match!

See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn

Another Early Birthday Gift

Mom bought me a new collar for my 10th birthday. She said that it's very special and that I would have to be patient and wait. She bought my collar from Patience and her Whippets, who we think makes the BEST collars! She has such pretty fabric choices! Mom is just in love with them all! She is forever washing my M&M collar and it still looks brand new, so they're sturdy and made to last! Sorry to sound like a commercial but we just love them!

Today the mailman delivered my birthday package from Patience.
The envelope said that I could open my package whenever I wanted to and that I didn't have to wait for my birthday! Thank you, Patience!
Now comes the part when we're blown away! Not only did Patience send mom her collar order, which got wisked away before I could even sniff it or take a peak, but she went above and beyond with more gifts for me AND Mitch AND Autumn! First you gotta see the card~

It's a bunny and she's standing at her potting bench and she's planting pansies and it's the most adorable card ever! Mom says it's cute enough to frame!
Next you just have to see what Patience and the Whippets sent Mitch! He couldn't believe his eyes! None of us could!

Does this collar look stunning on him, or what?! It has little hotdogs and hamburgers and french fries and cups of soda all over it! Mitch says that it's the Glenwood around his neck every single day! It's just awesome and it's the perfect choice and the black is just beautiful on Mitchy, Patience! Thank you so much!

And now you have to see what they sent to Autumn! It's a gardening bandana, just her size, with all kinds of gardening related things on it - clay pots and flowers and a rake and trowels and shovels and a froggie on a lily pad and bumblebees and butterflies! It's just adorable! Autumn is stylin'!

And are you ready for this?! Autumn and I match! We're twinsies! The collar Patience sent me is the very same gardening fabric in cheerful yellow! I love it!

You and your Whippets are so sweet, Patience! Thank you so very, very much for my birthday pressie! We all thank you! We are totally blown away by your generosity! We can't thank you enough! I can't wait to see what mom hid from me! I can see already that this is going to be one special birthday!

So until next time.............

Our Treat to Dad

Mitch and I took dad out to the Glenwood for a hotdog last Sunday on Father's day! Mom and dad love the Glenwood because it means that we get to go too! We pack our own water bottles and bring our own napkins and we never forget our purple ice cream spoon just in case!

We're in the truck and ready to roll! Hit the gas pedal, dad!
OMG, great choice, dad! Those onion rings sure look good but I know you won't give me one so can I have a french fry instead? Please, pretty please?

We have to tell you all a funny story. Mom ran the Hoover this morning and I was in the house with her and Mitch was outside with dad. Dad had to run an errand so he brought Mitch inside the house and left him with us. It didn't take mom long to notice that there was mud throughout the entire downstairs of the house! Natually she blamed dad! When dad came home, mom confronted him on this issue and he said that it wasn't him! Guess who our mud tracking friend was? Mr. Mitch had been digging prior to dad bringing him in and he had lots of the wet brown stuff caked in his paws! ewwwwwwwwwwwwww

We didn't get ice cream right after the Glenwood but the next night we did head to our favorite spot in Durham! You can't see it, but I am chewing on a pretty good sized piece of ice cream cone! The cone is almost as good as the ice cream!

We hope you enjoyed your father's day hotdog and ice cream dad! We sure enjoyed sharing it with you!

So until next time.................

Love ya lots,

WallyMelon

Guess what we had for dindin tonight?

Mom was VERY generous with the size of the slices! It's so sweet and juicy! YUM!

If there's another Aireboy on the face of this earth that loves fruit more than my brother, please come forward! Mitch is NUTS about fruit - all kinds! Poor dad can't even eat his wallymelon in peace!

We sure hope there's a lot more where this came from! This is some really good stuff!

Happy first day of summer!

So until next time.................

Wheelie Wednesday - More Gardening

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!

We're back in the garden again this week! This time of year lots of pretty things are happening and mom and I spend so much time out there weeding and dead-heading!

Remember the chives you saw a couple of weeks ago? We made chive vinegar! The chives turned the white vinegar the prettiest shade of pink! As soon as the dill blooms, we'll be making some dill vinegar too! Mom loves using a tiny bit of this on our potatoe salad!

The Mountain Laurel is in bloom! It's Connecticut's state flower and even though it doesn't smell, it's still a stunning flower! We just love it!

The Roses are in bloom too! Mom stinks at growing roses because she hates to feed them and she hates to spray them and these are both MUST-do's when you own roses! We have ONE rose bush in our entire yard and it's blooming and it smells so lovely!
We bought 3 new bushes this year - a blue hydrangea and a yellow barberry, which you see here and she finally broke down and bought a pink hydrangea! Can you see the flower right behind my head on my back? It's a silk one but it matches the blue hydrangea bush that's real! It's hard to tell what's real and what's fake!

Well, hello, Mr. Bunny! You'd best skidaddle before Maggie and Mitch see you! They love to chase bunnies!

The Evening Primrose is coming into bloom too!

And so is the Foxglove! They've very, very tall - way over my head! Mom has light yellow foxgloves too!

These bright pink flowers are called Sweet William and they smell like a carnation - just Heavenly! Someone gave us the plant that's blooming yellow and it's spreading like crazy only mom has no clue what it is! Does anyone know?

The Daylillies are beginning to come into bloom too! This one kinda matches my carrot bandana!

That's my garden tour for this week! I hope you enjoyed it!

See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn

An Early Birthday Gift from Snowball

Guess what came in the mail for me last week? A package from Snowball and it's for my 10th birthday, which isn't until July 10th! But guess what? Snowball said that I didn't have to wait a whole month to open my pressie! Bless you, Snowball! I would have gone NUTS staring at that pressie and wondering what was inside it!

Snowball made her own card! Isn't she just the prettiest girl you've ever seen?! Snowball and I are the same age, ya know! Well, we will be as soon as my birthday gets here!

Wow! Look what she sent me! I've never had anything this stylish before, Snowball! How pretty! Mom and I just love the colors! I can't wait for the weather to get cold so I can wear this on my walkie!

The poncho even has a hood! Good thing our Connecticut heat wave broke or no way would I allow mom to try this on me for a picture!

How do I look with the hood up? Isn't it just so cute!

I love my new poncho, Snowball! Thank you so very much! I'm going to be one stylin' ten year old girl!

So until next time..............

Love ya lots,

Maggie
