Shopping for Trap Rock

Dad took us shopping for trap rock at Tilcon.   There is a huge scale underneath our truck that weighs us without a load.   It weighs us again when we leave and they know how much we loaded.
This map says that the processed stone is up the hill and swing to the right, dad.
Wow - that is one big machine!
He's going to load the processed stone into our truck.
Can you feel the truck sinking under all of the stone weight, Mackie?
Dad is paying and the lady is giving him cookies for us!  Way cool!
We have a full load and we're on our way back home.
Look what the masons did with the trap rock.  We have a new front porch and the sidewalk is coming along nicely!
Window wells~
We're doing our bestest to keep our peeps focused on this project so they can finish before the snow flies!   We need to plant grass seed quickly!

Love ya lots♥

  8. That's interesting. We've never seen that done. Did your dad make you get out before the second weigh, so you could get some extra stone? BOL!

  10. We love your adventure day with your Dad, what a great set of pictures. One of our friends went to collect some stone with his pickup truck and they dropped it from such a height, it broke the shock absorbers!!!! He was not too pleased.

Your new pathway looks wonderful. Keeping our fingers and paws crossed that you get the work finished before the bad weather starts.

    Hugs, Susie & Treacle xx

  16. It sounds as if you get snow earlier than we do, for your sake I hope not this year. Love seeing the huge hill of rock. I love autumn, but will not be ready for snow until next year-if at all. A mild dusting at times is just perfect; of course when it's snowing, I spend my time sewing.
Hope your peeps get the work finished with plenty of time to spare.
